Went to the Sunday Gospel Brunch and while I absolutely loved the show and the poinsettia was divine, the food was just okay and the service left much to be desired. My boyfriend got his meat lover’s omelette(which he said was really good) and when the waiter came by 30 minutes later to ask how the food was, I still hadn’t gotten my Steak and Eggs Benedict. I got it another 20 minutes later and it was cold. He apologized and said they were short staffed, but come on. I’ll probably be back for the show, but my expectations about anything else are low.

I forgot to take a picture! Gospel brunch is awesome. Not only is the entertainment portion extremely hilarious, the food is really good! I ordered the salmon bagel this morning and I was not disappointed. The taste was perfection. They do add $ 3 to each person’s tab for the drag queens, but it’s well worth it. It’s also great as the service us phenomenal as well. Ryan, Hayden and a host of others do a magnificent job of keeping everyone’s drinks filled. There is a Bloody Mary bar as well as mimosa specials. A must-visit if you’re craving awesome brunch with a little added humor.

This place is a good time. No cover and the drinks are strong. The show is a good time. Just have a thick skin. Very interactive. Came here for brunch and it was hilarious. Don’t know how to explain it without doing the experience justice. You would think that for the show, the drinks and food would suck. The French toast was great. Definitely an experience I didn’t expect in Oklahoma :)

We recently went to the Sunday Gospel Brunch for a friend’s birthday, and it was fantastic! We had cocktails in the bar beforehand while waiting for the early performance to end, and we had great service from the bartender there. The smokers among us also appreciated being able to smoke inside while we waited. The nonsmokers had a comfortable time in the nonsmoking waiting area, and of course the nonsmoking theater was a plus. Once we were seated, the food was great. I had the salmon bagel, and it was exactly what I wanted. The whole group of 11 enjoyed the food, which included quite a variety from all over the brunch menu, and our server was super sweet and kept the mimosa pitchers coming throughout the show. Everyone enjoyed the magic that is Kitty Bob and Norma Jean, especially all their audience interaction. A great time was had by all, and we will all definitely be back! It wasn’t our first time, and it certainly won’t be our last!

If you haven’t been to the boom, then you should. Great food, great staff, and great shows. I absolutely love this place and consider at the top of my favorite places list.

This was a great way to end a weekend in OKC. The food was excellent and the drag was hilarious. I had the French toast with an egg over hard with sausage. The egg was prepared perfectly. My boyfriend had the same with bacon. He was equally pleased. I read some negativity about the host before making the reservation. I’m not sure if I had the same host but she was HILARIOUS. Very dry sense of humor and quick wit.

One of the best performances of the show! This was one of the most fun experiences I’ve had in this city!!! I’ve been twice now. The performers are talented and beautiful. I can’t wait to go back! I’m going for the Sunday brunch next! The drinks are great and I’ve heard the Sunday show is hilarious!

Awful. Tired queens, rude staff. Small smokey bar. If you’re not into nelly queens or drag queens, you will not like this place. I would try tramps or the Copa instead.

The best part about this were the occasional queens that would come out and perform and clearly get into it, and the other patrons who were all around fun. But the old queen who hosts is another story altogether. She definitely comes across as bitter and uninterested, and even her makeup appeared so lazily put on that it looked badly smudged. And when it came time for her lip syncing, she just looked like she couldn’t care less. It was so unfortunate because she is out throughout the show, and really detracts from what would be an otherwise great time. And her attempts at jokes, even if sarcastic, were mostly ignored. As another Unilocaler put it, she needs to leave the stage. I have heard nothing but great things about the gospel brunch and would love to return for that. Well… as long as the one queen isn’t hosting that.

Great drinks. However, it was my first time there… and I was more than annoyed by the old, bitter queen hosting the show. Someone needs to remind her that not everyone knows her… there will be new patrons EVERYNIGHT who don’t know her… and will not appreciate her lackadaisical lip-syncing…and PLEASE have her leave the stage! I was trying to enjoy the other queens, but had to see that old bitch counting her dollars, perched on an ugly throne, at the same time. Tacky! Ugh.

Gave this place a 4 starts due to the entertainment. Came here for a going away party for a friend. I feel they need more servers. Food was okay. I ordered the French Toast which was served with eggs(tasted like liquid eggs) and sausage. French toast was cooked pretty well, but nothing too special. I would come back and try something else. Otherwise, very entertaining!

Went with a few coworkers this past Sunday. It was a blast. The food was pretty good and the entertainment had us laughing the whole time. Even though it wasn’t packed, I would still suggest making reservations. The omelets looks amazing and the steak and eggs benedict was delicious. Really fun brunch location… Although parking can be an issue. Will definitely make my way there again soon!

Sunday gospel brunch is fantastic. Do not go if you are easily offended, only if you are light — hearted and love top laugh. They often use the audience as comedy material. Get ready to sing along, eat great food at a great price and be sure to make reservations as this place books up! It’s truly a unique experience and I can’t believe they don’t charge for the show! But it makes me love it so much more.

The bartender at The Boom makes the best gin and tonics in OKC, hands down, and for that, I applaud this master mixer with my 5 stars. Some girlfriends and I came here for the Fraktured Fairytales burlesque show in September, and needless to say, I had quite a few of those tasty, tasty g&t’s. I loved the venue. There’s a sitting area in front of the stage that is separated from the rest of the floor by bar height counters, so I liked that you could be up close and personal if you’re feeling brave and farther away if you like your space. The burlesque show was so much fun, and I hope to make it back for the Gospel Brunch!

Oh, Le Boom. I always have fun when I come here. For me, the Gay bars usually represent«phase 2» in a big night of going out. In this case, The Boom represented our shift from Phase 1 of my bachelorette party(Bricktown, casual drinking, volume at a 4) to Phase 2(Penn Ave, drinking bordering on the binge variety, volume at a 9). Phase 3 of course is Bobo’s. So, we’re at the Boom. The first performer was wonderful. I’m not sure I could have picked out the real NeNe from the fake NeNe, even if I hadn’t been on my sixth drink. The second performer, however, left much to be desired. Or rather, much to be blocked out from my memory. She was in a torn up robe, playing the desperate, chain-smoking, mean old housewife I guess? But she also made fun of people in the crowd and said several things that were beyond politically incorrect. It made us all get up and go. But the Boom is clean, has decent food, has a smoking and non-smoking area totally separate. It’s always fun, and one bad drag queen can’t do much harm.

When one of my friends told me I should check out the Sunday Gospel Brunch at The Boom, I was a little skeptical. But I am so glad I went, and I definitely plan on going again. The food was amazing. And I’m pretty picky when it comes to breakfast foods. The omelet was huge, they mixed the meat lovers and the veggie omelets so I got the best of both worlds(at no extra charge). And the potatoes gratis was oh so yummy. I was a little disappointed that there weren’t $ 2 mimosas like I saw one review had said, but $ 4 isn’t so bad for their delicious and well blended mimosas. I remember seeing another review saying the performers needed to stop talking so much and to preform more… what? Their talking was a part of their show, and it was absolutely hilarious! I was laughing just about the entire time. Norma and Kitty worked with their audience to create an entirely unique experience. And it didn’t feel too rehearsed. Not only were the performers awesome, the staff was quick and friendly! Participants and birthday guests in the show get a shot or small drink I absolutely adored the set-up in the non-smoking room. With a bar, a stage, and plenty of seating, I didn’t feel too close to my neighbor at all and not like I was in BFE either. Based on my experience at the Gospel Brunch, I can only assume that every other night would be just as superb. Considered a gay bar, but I feel that it should be considered a lgbts bar. Then again, s is expected everywhere else.

I am reviewing the Sunday Gospel Brunch which was a great time with myself and six other friends. The food was great. The Bloody Mary’s are the highlight of the place. The inside is clean and pretty nice. You can get a pitcher of poinsettia or mimosa for $ 22. My main meal for brunch was French toast with eggs, bacon, and sausage. Simple but very good. The service was great and the show was hilarious. It may not suit everyone’s sense of humor. It is great to have something like this in OKC. Definitely worth checking out as a group or with a date. FYI, my friends and I who went are straight. We had a group of girls and guys.

I decided to eat dinner here during a play on a Saturday night. I was expecting some over priced greasy bar food, and thank goodness I was wrong! They have a pretty traditional American menu, but everything I’ve had here as been fresh and yummy. Eating vegetarian isn’t too tricky as they’re happy to sub things out for you, and the staff is phenomenal!
