I don’t understand why this place doesn’t have 5 stars yet? I came here a couple of times already and I received good service, maybe I’m just lucky. There is a maximum of choices where you can pick to go along with your stir-fry! I love how I can choose a variety of different meats, seasoning, veggies, sauces, etc. Basically you make your own. Plus the wait for your stir-fry to be cook isn’t that long. I love my stir-fry with Japanese noodles! So yummy, one of my favorite pleases to eat now!

Food: 3⁄5 Service: 2⁄5 Cleanliness: 4⁄5 Décor & Style: 3⁄5 This place is original so I would not mind returning here in the future, however, poor experience for a first timer. Lets start with the food. I love the option to add whatever you want, basically like Chipotle style, however, 5 times the options and mainly noted Asian foods, then they grill it for you. You can add as much meats(any type) as you desire. Well, there was this place where you add seasoning. There was NOT a sign that stated 1 spoonful(extremely small spoons — size my pinky’s fingernail) was enough. So I added 5 spoons and my dish was way too salty to eat so I could not finish it. A friend of mine told me other Genghis Grill’s will give you that warning. Here was not the case. Service: The server was extremely slow and constantly gave us the whole«i’m so sorry we are so busy tonight!» spiel. Well, at least she apologized. Décor was odd, and the layout setup was not inviting at all.

Dirty, stuff all over floor, host was super aggro about the appetizers and wouldn’t back the hell off. Pretty sure the«scallops» were rancid. Gets an extra star bc tasted normal(no peanuts or noodle things tho,) and server herself was nice but this experience turned me off the whole chain, of which I’d been a real big fan.

The food is pretty good, however their raw meats dripping all over the food bar is less than desirable. Other Mongolian places freeze their meats, and it leaves no room for doubt of bacteria spreading.

RUN. My friend and I went in on a Monday night around 8:30, and though the place was nearly empty, when we asked to be seated at a booth our waiter told us that area was closed for the night and sat us at a table that hadn’t been properly wiped off and still had sticky food residue on it. The grill buffet was in pretty bad shape, too. The tongs for the meat had raw meat juices all over them, and there were a few flies that were buzzing a little too close for comfort. To top it all off, our waiter was awful. He made the both of us uncomfortable, he was gruff and aggressive with trying to get us to purchase dessert, and he kept the change from my friend’s dollar as tip without asking! With the food options offered this place could be great, but the wait staff and overall cleanliness of the place leave something to be desired. We’re not coming back; I can make a decent stir fry easily enough at home, without the dirty buffet and rude wait staff, thanks. Food: 1⁄5 Service: 1⁄5 Cleanliness: 0⁄5 Décor & Style: 3⁄5

The worst service I have ever experienced. There were only 5 other tables and we waited 10 minutes for our drink order and bowls. We made our bowls and received them before our drinks came out. When we got the drinks we noticed a bottle cap at the bottom of the iced tea. We told the waitress and she proceeded to fill the tea up and return the bottle cap cup. I asked for a manager and before I finished talking he was offering a discount. He then had the audacity to say«if you will go online and do the survey and give me good scores I will give you a discount because I am new.» He walked by our table at least 10 times throughout the evening on his cell phone. It was a terrible experience.

UNSANITARY. I went at an off time(2:45) and even when it was slow the line with the food was disgusting. I left and didn’t eat. All the meats were mixed together and the tongs were covered in raw meat residue. The chicken also was still frozen and smelled spoiled. Is it too expensive to hire a buffet attendant to keep the food area clean?

Get the edamame and ask for some extra seasoning on it, so tasty! I hope they bring back the little meatballs as a special protein item soon, it’s been the Tabasco/spicy chicken for months.

I was so glad when Genghis Grill opened in OKC. I’ve introduced a number of folks to Genghis Grill. This is the last time I’ll eat there. First they removed the eggs from the ingredient selections, then they removed the marinated steak, now the popcorn shrimp has been removed(waiter said«shrimp got too expensive»). Keep in mind a lunch bowl and a drink with tip is almost $ 15! I shop regularly and popcorn shrimp is still pretty cheap. I like the concept but it appears they are trying to make the business more profitable at the expense of service and selection, a sure recipe for failure! The dining scene in OKC gets more diverse and crowded every week it seems, my guess is that Genghis Grill will not be part of the local dining scene much longer without a return to what made them so popular to begin with. I for one hope they figure it out but I won’t come back to this location to find out. UPDATE: Got an email from GG social media monitor, maybe change for the better on the way? I hope so.

How can you dislike Genghis Grill? The variety is amazing and you make your own stir-fry. I’m a spice junky so I tend to go for anything that advertises itself as spicy and it delivers every time. Usually Tabasco marinated chicken, a few spicy seasonings, jalapenos, red peppers, and dragon sauce. You’re gonna burn your mouth on this combination. Word of advice for the timid. Don’t be timid. Fill that bowl up, you’re going to be messy but the more you get in the bowl the happier you’ll be with what you paid. Maybe carry a paper towel or something so you can wipe up your mess. If you follow my advice definitely ask for double starch or you’ll end up with way too much meat and veggies in comparison to your starch. I don’t know if they still do it, but get a celebration glass. It’s five bucks and gets you five dollar mixed drinks That’s an amazing deal because they’re drinks are very good!

This is a Genghis Grill like most other Genghis Grills. However, the service is lacking. The last time I got a to-go order there were fifteen employees: two actually cooking/working and thirteen ignoring me. I really like the location I frequent in Bixby(Tulsa) a lot better. Also some of the produce was frozen solid the time I went after that. I think this location needs a revamp.

I think before I overestimated the power of Genghis Grill. It’s decent and a bit pricey. My boyfriend and I usually just get an order to go but decided to stay and eat last night. We called ahead to ask how much the endless bowl(all you can eat) was, and he was told $ 9.99, which is oddly the same price as a regular order, but whatever, right? When we get there we sit at the bar(which is FAR from the food line, by the way. Haha OHWELL). We asked the bartender, Ryan, how the endless bowl worked and he gave some great advice that is actually common sense that we didn’t think of. The endless bowl is actually $ 9.99… plus $ 5. I’m not sure why we were told otherwise over the phone. So he advised that we get our first bowl for $ 9.99 and if we’re still hungry after that then we could opt for the extra $ 5. Turns out, we weren’t hungry at all after that so good deal! ***Also, I’m not sure how long this deal is going on but they’re doing something called uh… the celebration glass? It’s a 21+ deal since it involves alcohol. We ordered our drinks and he told us that for $ 4.99 each we could buy the celebration glasses(which are the glasses most of the mixed drinks come in) and from then on out with no foreseen expiration every mixed drink you get at GG is only $ 5 as long as you show the proof of purchase you’re given. We got that so I ordered one more drink and that’s when the $ 5 deal began!***

Mongolian stir fry is hardly anything new but restaurants like this capitalize on the fact that most people were always too scared to try it at a Chinese buffet. I think seeing frozen raw meat freaks people out sometimes. I do love how you choose everything you want in your meal, but if you are to go to a place like this, I think HuHot is far better. They have more choices for sauces and it’s one flat rate for however many trips you take up to the buffet instead of charging by the plate like they do here.

Are you okay with spending $ 9.74(+ tip) for a cereal bowl portion of food(referring to the metal bowl used for the ingredients, not the bowl that is presented to you)? If not, you may have to think about paying an additional $ 6.00 for unlimited attempts at creating that perfect combination. Speaking of combination; there is variety, I certainly can’t argue against that. The meats are not frozen though as it should be, and since you can only have one go at it(for the aforementioned $ 10.00), you may very well pick something that’s not impressive at all and be very disappointed with the end result. My end results are dishes that leave me somewhat unsatisfied. In a recent visit, I didn’t have any green beans in my bowl when I handed it to the guy, but found quite a few green beans when it was brought to me. My lunchmate on the other hand had overloaded on carrots in his dish and found only a few when it was placed in front of him. The resulting emotions may vary from disappointed to irked, depending on the person. To be fair, the veggies were/are fresh, and the seasoning and sauce options were/are fairly diverse. Still, I can think of a few places where the food is better, and significantly cheaper. Half the enjoyment of a Mongolian BBQ is due to the option of trying new variations. With GG, I feel pressured into making a perfect dish each time(to this day, I have not succeeded), or end up spending the somewhat exorbitant price of $ 16.00(+ tip) so that I can try what is essentially the Chili’s of Mongolian BBQs. What is your overhead, GG? It can’t be that high. The Tuxedo bomb is a pretty good dessert, although it’s not $ 5.00 good. The same can be said for the other dessert options.

Not so great, ame concept as hu hot and just as bad. The tables were not clean and the waiter told us to not use the cool little ordering tablet on the table. It’s loud and casual so kids bringing your kids is fine. The Ziosk is useful for the kids because it has games to keep them occupied but before I knew it, my daughter«bought» a game and they charged me $ 2 so be ready. This is non traditional mongolian bbq with odd choices like fish, steak, bbq sauce and pico de gaio. So if you’re expecting real mongolian beware. Wait time for cooking 10 – 15 minutes which I think is excessive. I wouldn’t bother getting the unlimited bowl unless you’re ready to spend 90 minutes for dinner. Waiter customer service was attentive but the tables were sticky and not clean. I noticed they were lacking host staff so when you walk in no one greets you and you have to wait for a busy waiter to give you a table. If you want mongolian bbq, you’re better off at golden palace on air depot near tinker afb.

All I can say is this place is The shit! Love it and if you don’t like the food its your own fault because you made it. If you haven’t yet… try it you wont be disappointed.

I had mongolian bbq for the first time on a cruise and was completely addicted! So consequently, living in California, I’ve had it many times after. But Genghis Grill is not comparable. If possible, the food tastes like«fast» mongolian«food»(I know that doesn’t make sense) and just wasn’t good in general. I’ve been to Genghis twice and both times I left with only eating a few bites. Mongolian bbq is an awesome concept though. You basically pay a set price for either all-you-can-eat or one serving. You get a clean bowl and there is a buffet table of all the ingredients you could want including veggies and seafood and meats. Yes, the meats are raw, but at good mongolian restaurants, they are frozen, and I’ve never been sick. You are supposed to use separate tongs for everything. Then, usually, you choose your combination of sauce ingredients. You have oil, chili, garlic, etc. and there are instructions concerning what to put in depending on how spicy you want. HERE at Genghis, they have specific sauces already concocted, but you don’t know what any of them taste like so it is kind of confusing. It would be okay if the sauces were all good, but there are about 20 and of the 2 I tried, neither of them were good. Then you take your bowl up to the chef and s/he stir fries it up for you in a wok or on a giant traditional heating sphere. DEFINITELY check out a mongolian bbq restaurant, just go to something authentic and NOT this fast food chain.

I will never go back. Who wants to handle raw meat? Can you say salmonella poisoning! Waited in a long line to pick out my own meat using tongs that had«raw meat juices» all over them. and lots of people were handling these tongs! I don’t get it. I’d rather order and not handle anything raw when I go to a restaurant!

Good Mongolian? Please. Tried this place tonight. We will not be going back again. First up. The buffet was a mess. Well stocked, yes, but dirty. The selection of items is both horrible and overwhelming at the same time, I have no idea how they managed this, but it’s true. Second issue. The cooks completely screwed up my daughter’s order. They put her friend’s noodles in her food, and her friend’s food with her selection of rice. Seriously? You have menu boards that tell you what to do, how is this rocket science? Third problem. Their selection of sauces is the worst I’ve ever seen. Even with a good portion of two kinds of sauce along with my food and noodles I still had to add salt to make it all tasty. WTF? I never add salt to Asian food! All the sauces were obviously ridiculous flavourless concoctions of mostly cornstarch. Gloppy, shiny, crap. Fourth, and last! This place was way too noisy and way too crowded. The restaurant wasn’t especially busy, and still everyone that walked by my chair bumped into me. The tables are too close for comfort(and I don’t exactly have normal American ideas of personal space, I am comfortable in crowded spaces). The music was too loud, making for strained hearing. And the space echoed something horrible, making any conversation around us sound so much louder than it should have. In short, save your money(they aren’t very affordable for what you get) and don’t go here. I suggest hitting up HuHot, or Golden Palace even. You will get a much better meal at either of those places.
