My recent experience with floor traders began on a very positive note. We first dealt with Shane who was knowledgeable and very pleasant to deal with. However, we never found him present on 4 more trips, so dealt with another employee. After ordering and paying cash for 1500 sq ft. of new flooring, the help and customer care stopped with there. They never called to inform me that my tile was in, and worse that the wood flooring was not coming when expected. I had to find that out for myself. Then when the wood flooring was still not in 2 weeks later I was never informed that it would be a month before I MIGHT get it. My floor layer found this out when he went to pick it up when it was supposed to be available. THEY never called, not one time. Even after he was there, still no call. Another trip for me to the store to confront their lack of ethics. I was forced to pick another flooring that was the same but from a different company and then I am told they had that flooring in stock all along and it was made by a different company that was much better than the first I chose. Same price, so why was I not directed to that in the first place. Because they sat at their desks and I muddled through choosing on my own. Maybe other OKC location are better staffed, but stay away from the South Portland location. Irresponsible, non responsive, and totally inept employees.

With the exception of one nice man at the front desk, this place has Terrible Customer Service! They ordered the wrong colored tile. We had to go to the manufacturer’s factory to exchange for the right tile. Then they WAY over ordered in one color and shorted us in another. The result — we had to buy more tile to finish the job and they wouldn’t let us return any of the four unopened boxes we already had. I will NEVER go back and don’t recommend anyone else do either.

Just like the other review, I had somewhat the same experience. Went in shopping around for wood-look tile as a more durable alternative since we have a 50lb dog that will only play fetch indoors. Walked in and was immediately greeted by an employee, Woody(heck of a name for a wood floor salesman). He took me right to the area I was looking for, gave me some options, suggested I head around the corner to their supplier and pick up the free samples from them since they don’t keep those onsite. The prices here overall seem reasonable. The tiles we are debating between range from 2.50−3.25 sq/ft. Not a bad price compared to the big box stores. I will update the review later as we continue on this path of home renovation.

As part of my pre-spring cleaning, I want to re-do my home office flooring in wood. I hit a few places, and ended up at Floor Trader, which is located near all the furniture stores off Reno. I was greeted by a salesman named Shane. And this is the weird(but good) part. After telling him what I was looking for, did he take me to the priciest bin in the place? No. He first took me on a tour of the closeouts and marked-down flooring. This was stuff left over from larger jobs and varied in quality from meh to really nice. I didn’t really see anything I liked there, so then went looking at the regular stock. I was impressed that I was shown the more affordable stuff first instead of being shoved into the Thurston Howell III aisle(old dude subreference…). They are very helpful and have a large selection of carpet, tile and wood flooring. I didn’t buy yet; still making up my mind what I want — but I will definitely return here when I do.
