The most delicious selection of tap beers, great appetizers and main dishes, huge selection of wines liquors and beers in the shop. The short rib sandwich and the cow on stilts burger were amazing, we had a fresh salad with delicious housemade dressing. Everyone was pleased with their drinks selections, I had a delicious barleywine! Again lots of rich and flavorful tap selections, go try it out one of the funnest places in town. Thanks o B C for a wonderful time always. Friendly servers, great atmosphere on the ojai strip.

We still love the old bar setup better(Jorge, are you listening), but OBC is still, consistently, the best gastropub around. We always sit at the bar, otherwise the service is sketchy, at bet.

Great beer flights options and a nice location Downtown! I’m not the biggest beer fan, but I loved the pineapple cider. My boyfriend enjoyed several of the stouts on the list. Service was efficient even though they were busy. They also had a cool selection of local wine.

The service was slow. I ordered a veggie burger with the mushroom, and it tasted burnt. The beer selection was great though.

I unfortunately had a horrible experience with the staff here after they double charge me for some drinks I bought and still haven’t reimbursed me. Their costumer service is awful and they continue to give me the run around on refunding me. They have a unique selection of drinks, but it’s not worth the hassle I’ve been through. I definitely wouldn’t come here again.

We came here because we received a free wine tasting from our stay at Casa Ojai. The tasting was pretty great. We sampled four pretty good wines. They also had a good selection of food but since we had already eaten we only ordered an appetizer which was ok. The service was just ok.

One of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. Add that to a crazy beer and wine selection, with a local vibe and you have the perfect spot for lunch in Ojai.

I was there with a group – about 15 of us – for lunch on Saturday afternoon. The restaurant is plain, not fancy, which to me is all to the good. The beer was, of course, excellent. As for the food – I ordered a rare hamburger with French fries. When it came, it was hard to tell how good it was, as it was almost cold and I was brought salad instead of fries. The reason was the absolutely abysmal level of service. We sat for maybe twenty minutes before the server even came to take our orders. It was then ATLEAST a half hour before the first meal came out. Maybe five people were served, and they were almost finished their meals when five more were served. The rest of us got ours a considerable time after that. A lot of the food was cold; presumably it had sat in the kitchen, but who knows why. I blame the management and/or owner for not having adequate staff to serve and, presumably, to work in the kitchen. To top it off, the restaurant refused to give separate checks, but we were told they’d tell us separately what we owed. You’d think the restaurant staff would do this, but no, the organizer of our group spent a good half hour going from person to person to tell us what we owed, then had to take our cash and credit cards to the cashier. Would I go back? Maybe, but I would be very vocal if any of these annoyances should prevail. Note: It says you can edit and you can the text, but I wanted to downgrade the star rating by one – couldn’t do it.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon. 5 stars for the beer and wine selection! The food we ordered was less than stellar. The brunch menu had biscuits and gravy on it. The biscuits were rock hard, no exaggeration. The eggs were very fluffy and tasted pretty good. We also ordered The Firehouse burger with blackened fries. The burger itself was pretty tastless, and the pepper jack cheese and jalapeño bacon really didn’t give it the spice or flavor I was expecting. The blackened fries has good flavor, but the fries themselves were limp. Service was friendly, we always had our soda glasses filled. The food did seem to take a while once the order was placed, I’d estimate about 20 minutes for a burger and biscuits and gravy. Overall, just an average experience. I’d give it another shot with different menu items.

This was my first stop on my Festivus roadtrip and what a great beginning to a fun adventure! I was there the night they had their ugly sweater pub crawl, so it was packed with very merry locals! The vibe was fun and festive! The food options were amazing(hard to choose which vegetarian dish I wanted) but I knew I would score no matter what, and I did with the big and tasty portobello burger. YUM! Not only do they have an amazing restaurant and bar, there is a fully stocked liquor store in front, filled with gorgeous wines and craft beers. I bought a local, organic red wine that was delicious. I fell in love with Ojai that night and can’t wait to go back to the OBC!

I read Unilocal reviews and decided to give this place a try instead of the limited alcohol at Vons or Westside market in Ojai. I was very impressed with their wine and spirits selections, especially their local wines. They had a several choices of chilled champagne with better prices than at Vons. And I have to say the one I purchased was quite tasty. Even better, I signed up for their rewards program, which texted me a notification of $ 5 off if I check in within the next 15 days. I love a bargain, but hate coupons or cards that you forget to bring with you, whereas I always have my phone… The restaurant/beer taps area usually has a crowd, so I will make a foray out of the beverage area into the food area next time I stop in.

The OBC is part store and part tap house offering an extensive selection of beer, wine and liquor, plus a full menu of pub food. Sure we were excited for the beer and wine tasting flights, but what cinched the deal for me were the SOFTPRETZELSTICKS! And they didn’t disappoint. You get three hot and chewy pretzel sticks with brown mustard and chipotle aioli for dipping. The other starters we got were also excellent. The FIERYCHOKE was a big plateful of deep fried artichoke hearts with ghost pepper aioli for dipping, and the BASKETOFFRIES came with additional dipping sauces to enjoy with the thick and crispy hand cut fries. All of these were definitely made for sharing. Now back to the tasting flights. A couple of friends split a wine flight which they thought was just okay, and another friend and I opted for the beer flight. There are 50 beers on tap to choose from. Any four for $ 10, with some designated as $ 1 – 3 more. The pours were surprisingly generous too. The beer tasters are the way to go!

50 Beers on Tap! Awesome, right? It was the weather that brought us here and searching on Unilocal was that easy. This place was so welcoming and if I would ever visit Ojai again, I would definitely go back. This most-loved bar in town was more like a gastropub and a liquor store at the same time. We were greeted courteously at the door and we told them that we just had lunch at the Hip Vegan place. We were thrilled sharing the news because we were tourists. ;). The front area was the store of wines/liquor and I have noticed that it was very well-stocked. We sat at the bar because it’ll always be the best spot for newbies. We were served by the friendly bartender, Michaela. We browsed at the beer menu and we let her choose the first 8 beers on tap after the boyfriend informed her that we prefer pale and light flavored beer. After finishing the first 8, we ordered another set of 4 and we went for the darker beers. Beer heaven! Everyone was cool and friendly! We got to experience a light conversation with an elderly lady who was sitting right next to me at the bar. She just retired 2 years ago and moved to this well-preserved city. She’s been coming here since then to chill especially on hot summer days. Bathroom was super clean. The manager appeared to be very attentive. The people, the atmosphere, the vibe… why is it so perfect?

This was such a cool little place. pretty much every kind of beer, wine, and liquor imaginable. Even a section of what I would assume to be hard to find, and unique variations of bitters. The beer selection was extremely impressive. Between the small batch stuff, and limited edition brews were all the usual verities. If draft beer is your choice, fear not there are 50 drafts on tap. 50. 5 – 0. crazy. We weren’t too hungry so we just got the truffle fries. Holy crap. Amazing! Dusted with Parmesan, and basil, and of course truffle oil. Wow. Dipping sauces were a blue cheese, and chipotle. Both awesome. Ambiance was nice. Casual, and if you don’t want to sit in the bar area there is a large patio to accommodate. If we didn’t have to drive back to LA I might have tried to sample all 50 beers!

The Ojai Beverage company is about as good as it gets as far as beer selection. Not many places to go with so many beers on tap, not to mention beers in the fridge ready to take home. You can get 4 tasters for $ 10 from a menu of 50 beers to pick from. This could be big big trouble. Besides a killer menu and the beer they also have a great selection of wines. This might be one of the best reasons to go to Ojai. I had 4 samples, I picked a very narrow palate of beer. All really hoppy and all beers I’ve never had(at least I don’t think I’ve had them). Green flash palate wrecker D.I.P.A. 9.5% Super hoppy El Segundo Mayberry IPA. 7.1% Supper hoppy 21st amendment monk’s blood Belgian dark. 8.3% Odd flavors, Notes of vanilla but also tastes like pure alcohol. Lagunitas Brewing Gnarleywine. 10.85% Taste like the combination of dirty barn wood and rusty nails I also got to try a few other beers. The Mother Earth Cali Creamin was the best of the 8 beers I tried. I highly recommend this beer. I got a pint after I was finished with all the tastings. To eat we got the Artichoke Poppers, Mushroom Duo and the Soft Pretzel Sticks. They were all great menu items to go with beer tastings. The Soft Pretzel Sticks were the best.

I came here recently to buy an apology gift for a friend. I don’t know the first thing about alcoholic beverages so I asked one of the employees for help. He gave me some great advice and I walked out with a couple of mid-priced craft beers. My friend thought they were very good. He knew he wasn’t going to really love the one that had been aged in a … was it a brandy barrel? Anyway he wasn’t a fan of that type of beer, but he tried it just to tell me how it was and he said he almost finished the entire thing. The other one was a big hit and he loved it. My friend is talking to me again and I have the Ojai Beverage Company and their knowledgeable, helpful employees to thank for it! Will definitely return next time I need booze!

I don’t really have anything negative to say about this place. Upon entering, you may not realize that there is a full bar in back serving quality nosh, but just try to drag yourself past the abundance of adult beverages and park your behind in a seat by the bar, or in their semi-outside patio. I had the Berry Hot Burger– 8oz Watkins patty, strawberry habanero BBQ sauce, red onion, romain lettuce, Chimay’s À la rouge cheese On a pretzel bun $ 12 I can find not faults with this one. I am a sucker for spicy sweet, and this had it in spades. It had BBQ, it had a slight berry flavor, it had luscious Chimay cheese, and it had a habanero spice that was just the right amount without blowing out my taste buds. I asked for it medium, and it came out medium. Our server was polite, attentive, and helpful, and combined with huge beer tasting menu, and you’re sitting on a winner right there. 5 Stars.
