Great spot for produce and many local Utah made foods. Great staff. Shop small and support the local market!

Decent selection and wonderful staff but produce quality is hit or miss, ie ripe avos were bruised. I guess same can be said about any produce dept and I’ll be returning to this little store for convenient produce :). I really want to rate at 3 ½, not 3

Carlo’s is what good shopping should be. Locally grown produce. Check. Imported specialty produce that doesn’t grow here. Check. Cool little extras like candy, jams, and honey. Check. My favorite part about Carlo’s? The staff. The folks here have been around since well before my inception and have been apart of the Carlo’s family and business since opening. They are friendly, love to help, and just all around nice. A few things you should know and love about this place. The wares are generally cheaper than you will find at the(insert chain name here). The avacados aren’t as perfectly green, the tomatoes vary in size, and your lemons might have a blemish. But it is REAL food. I don’t have any facts to back this up but I think Mother Nature might have more to do with the production of this food than Mr. Chemical. Give Carlo’s a try. Watch their board out front for what is in season and in stock.

I love this place! It’s worth driving to Ogden from Salt Lake for spices and vegetables centered on Mexican cuisine. They always seem to have a few items that you can’t find anywhere else or if you do, the quality is not equal to Carlo’s. On our most recent visit, the had tomotillo’s that were better than any I’ve ever seen before. And the teller was very helpful offering some cooking advice on a seasoning that my wife picked up. Plus, they’re open on Sunday. A day when Ogden itself, pretty much shuts down. Carlo’s is great! ~m
