Cpl Ray’s Coffee

The Frozen Ray Ray’s and Frozen Kirkland’s are the bomb!!! What a better place to support (than other coffee shops) they believe in Christmas and Supporting Our Troops!!!

Nice place to get a coffee that is NOT a yuppie place. Nice change from starbucks, which entirely sucks with their syrup coffee. The crowd is pretty typical coffee shop. Very respectful idea. Had chai latte or something (whatever my gf had) and it was very good. Good like I fix at home good.

Really nice service and I really dig the atmosphere and look of the place. Very much a sit down and chill kinda place, but you can also take coffee to go if you choose and it is pretty quick. It does seem like the barista were new as the coffee was a little burnt and the frozen drink came out a little to powdery tasting. But would not mind going back.

Always friendly and always delicious! Those muffins are always fresh and taste wonderful! White mochas are my favorite from there!

I have since given Cpl Rays another try, lattes are still too sweet but Americanos are perfect. I also think this location is in the perfect spot.

My first time in. Today having spice chai latte. Is good. Small food menu. Cin rolls etc in glass case look.undesirable. Modern setting. Is good place but probably would not return.

This place has such a welcoming atmosphere. I definitely recommend this place for those that are looking for a place to get some work done, and not be over crowded like your local coffee franchise. I will admit that the location is a bit far but completely worth the drive, besides it provides both Midlanders and Odessans a neutral territory to go enjoy coffee. I love the theme, one thing that I love about West Texas is our patriotism, honoring those who have served and those fallen. A beautiful homage sits on display in honor or Cpl. Ray. The drinks are amazingly done, not only that but the staff is always generously helpful to offer suggestions and to make sure that I enjoy my drink. The prices are your typical Starbucks but I feel like I get my money’s worth here.

This is my second time going to this coffee shop and the drinks are good, but the service is atrocious. This evening, after placing my order on the drive-​thru speaker, and pulling forward to the window, I sat there for a while watching one of the girls try to work with a calculator (if it’s that hard, maybe somebody else should be in charge of crunching numbers). No acknowledgement, no wave, no nothing from the two girls working. Finally, parked, walked in and both had a dazed, stupid look. When I stated that I had been sitting there for a while and asked if there was a problem with my order the response was «well I was getting your pastries». Keep in mind, this place is small and I’m the only customer they are serving at the moment, so it really should not be so difficult to fulfill the order. I don’t expect stellar customer service, but these people are not even trying. Very disappointed!

I’ve been here a couple of times so far, and the drinks are quite good. The Iced Chai Lattes are a good size for the price and I’ve had both Iced Green and Black teas, which are fantastic and not too sweet (I enjoy actually being able to taste the tea). The only reason I deduct stars is the service, which is wildly inconsistent.
The first two times I came here (with a friend to study) the staff was friendly enough. However, the last two times I’ve been treated brusquely… I chalked it up to a bad day on Sunday, October 4^th. However, on my most recent trip I noticed pricing inconsistencies — on their menu, a Danish is noted to be $ 2 (plus tax) but when it was rung up on their POS I was charged $ 2.25 (plus tax), coming to a total of $ 2.44. When I mentioned this to the barista, all I was told was she was going off the price on the POS and that she didn’t read the menu! When I decided to get a muffin instead (which was actually priced correctly), the other barista (possibly the Manager on Duty) gave a dramatic sigh and told her to simply charge me the pastry and she would pay the difference (which was fifteen cents).
I’m not terribly appreciative of being treated as a hassle, or worse that I’m trying to hustle them simply because I want a product according to the price that is displayed. So, until they get their staff and menu on the same page, I’ll have to give Cpl. Ray’s a tentative Only-​If-​Starbucks-​Is-​Busy rating.

Really nice study spot and the coffee is great! Not many study spots in Odessa but this one has great hours, plenty of space, and nicer than Starbucks.

Had heard great things about this place just hadn’t made it in. Finally tried it a couple of days ago and I must say their frozen white chocolate mocha drink was delicious. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I will definitely be returning!

I am a coffee-​holic. Lol. I was glad to see a new coffee business go up in this area of town. The atmosphere is a little different; not real warm and inviting. The coffee was AWESOME!!! Only been there twice. First time I got hot café’ mocha (not on the menu but they can make it). The second time I got a cold mocha frappuccino.

Stopped by on my way home for a moka, it was a really nice one and offered with a big smile from the baristas.
Definitely a must return!
I hope they are going to add more sweet pastries.

This is a new business so the rating could improve. The coffee was very good, as were the egg and sausage croissants. The main issue with food was the time needed to prepare. Service was definitely an issue. Young girls took orders and ran the register. They were apt to walk off in the middle of a transaction not remembering that change was due. We will continue our patronage and have hopes these matters are resolved with proper training.
