Hai Shan Chinese Restaurant

Found this little hole in the wall Chinese joint that boasts New York style Chinese food. Never having eaten Chinese food in New York personally I can’t claim one way or the other but I do know that it’s pretty darn good food! My new favorite local place… Good food, fast service, and friendly staff.

This little place is very clean, reasonably priced and pleasant, but the real draw is the excellent Chinese food: rapidly and expertly prepared. No better takeout than this.

This is as good as it gets. If you don’t judge the hole-​in-​the-​wall appearance, it’s perfect. Egg foo young, sweet and sour chicken, moo goo gai pan, mei fun, pork fried rice… he does it all! Not only that, but the guy is a savant. He’s fluent in four languages, and he needs to be. Every type of ethnicity comes in there (and frequently), so there’s obviously something for everyone. Even the local Chinese people file in here come lunch time.
Without doubt, this is the best Chinese I’ve ever had. He makes everything fresh and even after all these years, he still provides quality ingredients and generous portions at the same prices you’d be paying for fast food elsewhere. The best bite tastes as good as the last. I’ve never been disappointed in the 20+ times I’ve visited. Ask for beansprouts!

This is my favorite location to pick up Chinese food. There’s nothing special about the appearance of this restaurant and inside seems less than desirable to eat in, but the food is of the highest quality and extremely tasty. I order food for my family at least once per week and for under $ 20 we can feed over six people. I’ve ordered Chinese food from every restaurant within a 5 mile radius and they are the best!

Hai San is definitely the best Chinese food in town. I have personally tried a lot of places including hole-​in-​the walls in New York (Chinese food capital) and nothing compares. Did I also mention great service and pricing! I highly recommend it!

I liked everything we ordered and that never happens!!! I will go back!!! Perfect for takeout!
