Honestly some of the best donuts I’ve ever had and extremely affordable. The workers are always so friendly too!

I seldom eat donuts, so they have to be really good for me to get them. I tried the buttermilk, chocolate glaze, and an apple fritter. They were delicious, and I went two days in a row. I almost feel guilty, but it was well worth it. Cash only.

I use to like this place but recently the donuts are not fresh, the owner stated the donuts were freshly made at 7am– however our donuts were hard and hollow.

I’ve only recently started coming to Tan’s because sometimes I just get sick of Yum Yum donuts. This is a true mom and pop operation and because of that I love this place. They have a little bit of this and that so that’s great. The employees don’t say much but that’s okay I will still come back for some tasty donuts.

This is a great place to get your donuts. Made fresh. great selection. Just make sure you have cash! They have an ATM but better to plan ahead. Try the buttermilk knot. You will not be disappointed.

Tan’s has been our go to and the best donut in North County! Been going there for 19 years!!! I love Tans on Christmas and New Years mornings!

Best donuts in North County. Donuts are always fresh, soft, just dense and chewy enough, keep better than most, and have great mouthfeel, flavor and aftertaste. they’re just very well made. And they have good variety, a clean and spacious dining area, and service is always fast and very friendly. They have been in the community forever and truly know what the public wants. I have yet to try their breakfast sandwiches and boba drinks, but I surely will soon. I’ve tried most of the donut shops in the area, and Tan’s wins easily.

I grew up in Oceanside and Tan’s Donuts is a staple to the local community. It’s your typical neighborhood donut shop-nothing too special about it. They have a ton of different donuts to choose from, the basic glazed, maple bars, sprinkles, and more-they’re all delicious. They also have croissant sammies that they microwave to heat up-not the best idea but as far as taste, eh. I’ve never had the smoothie/shakes here but they do have a variety, when I was looking at the menu I saw an avocado shake that I wanna try sometime soon… It’s cash only, so be prepared. It also gets pretty busy in the mornings especially on the weekends but the staffs pretty quick so it won’t be too long of a wait.

Came here this morning to get a dozen doughnuts to kick off the morning for me and my family. I ordered a variety of the classics; chocolate bars, sugar bars, and glazed. I was disappointed they didn’t have maple bars because those are my mom’s favorite. The service was fast and the lady working was very nice. It’s cash only so make sure to bring about $ 10 cash if you want a dozen doughnuts. Overall the doughnuts were pretty good, I just wish they had more of a variety.

I used to come to Tan’s often over a span of 20 years and when the original owners ran the business. I’ve been here several times over the past year to give the«new» establishment a try. The staff are always friendly, there is ample parking, the shop is clean and they have a good selection of goodies. However each time I’ve eaten their donuts something seems off. The donuts look good but just don’t taste fresh and they always leave a fatty/crisco/lard residue on the roof of my mouth. It’s really a bummer because this used to be my go-to, neighborhood donut spot.

If you want a quick donut this is your place. If your a doughnut connoisseur like me this isn’t your place. Doughnuts are not fresh, the kind of doughnut that leaves a film in your mouth, not good. They do have a wide variety of doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches and drinks. Cash only, they do have an ATM. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Probably wouldn’t come back, unless I have a dire need for doughnuts.

Tan Donuts are fantastic with very fair price. It is located next to my house and on my daily morning commute. No matter if it’s your first time here or a regular customer, you are always treat very courteous by all of the staff. The donuts and friendly customer service are not the only high lights of this establishment, have you tried the smothies? My wife speaks very strongly for all of the shakes and smothies and how they are great. So, enjoy and become part of Tan Family

Nicest people, great donuts, they don’t have a huge variety but what they have is great. After going there 3 times in a week they already start my order when I walk in. Cash only but honestly people find $ 5 in your couch cushions and who doesn’t have a few bucks on them anyways.

I dropped my dog off at the salon and saw this place and went in to get something. Very cheap prices and great. I got a croissant sandwich with egg and cheese and it was huge and only 2.50 and so delicious. It’s on a huge buttery soft fresh croissant. I also got two glazed donuts and they were nice, soft and fluffy =) everything was very tasty I will be coming here for my donuts form now on

The biggest downfall is cash only. Donuts are good and fresh made. Better than the nearby Yum Yum, but not as good as Mission Donut.

The only Tan’s that should come to mind for any Oceansider when you put those 3 letters together. Probably because my skin is the color of a donut anyhow it’s the 1st thing that comes to mind when I think of TAN or donuts. Sure there are more mainstream brands like Yum Yum nearby and an eastcoast staple like Dunkin on base, but if you identify the city of Oceanside by terms like«backgate, valley, deep valley, shores, etc» you can only come to 1 donut conclusion. Back when I was young donuts were a part of my regular diet, as was snowboarding and pizza hut, but a few things never changed. I’ve been coming here for well over a decade, at least as long as I could drive. This mom and pop shop is the epitome. They have not taken notice on the trends like the cronut, the bacon anything. They stick to the classics, but added boba milk tea a few years ago. They do breakfast sandwiches, bagels and a few juices. Not many bagel shops around, heck not even any juice shops nearby and only 1 donut shop in the vicinity so this all in 1 almost gets much of the traffic by default. This place used to be the literally owned by the nicest sweetest couple, but they retired and sold the business. I can’t necessarily say it’s not as good as it once was, but it’s lost something. CASH only, but an ATM inside, nominal ATM fee as far as ATM fee’s go. Service is good and the staff is friendly, variety is excellent, quality is ok(I mean come on their donuts). It’s clean, but in a bit of a run down strip mall. It’s never stopped me or quite a few others from coming, but it could use a touch up.

PROS: — Tan’s Donuts had a wide variety of donuts. Peanuts, Sprinkles, Coconut, Filled with Cream, Glazed… etc. — They have boba on their menu! I wasn’t in the mood for boba at 7:30am, but I thought it was neat to see that. — Prices are fair to average($ 8.50 for a dozen) — Customer Service is friendly. The employees greeted me, assisted me, sent me on my way with my donuts, and a smile. CONS: — I didn’t read all of the reviews prior to coming here, and was surprised that they accept CASHONLY. They do have a ATM machine($ 1.85 fee) — The donuts were just OK. I was hoping to have the«OMG, these are so good! We should come back ASAP» but I didn’t. Verdict: Everyone is different, so give them a try. Maybe, you’ll like it! Don’t forget to bring cash!

Tucked away in the corner of a strip mall on Mission Ave. you have Tan’s donuts. Clean little place that’s kind of like an all in one. Bagels, bubble tea, smoothies, oh. and donuts. Got a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel and it was just great. Good bagel, some melted american cheese, delish. Only part I don’t like is no credit cards, BUT, there’s an ATM in there and it only charges like 1.85 to draw money out of it, which isn’t that steep of a charge.

How can you say anything bad about a donut shop except for the fact that its not the healthiest of all things to eat, but who cares! Hahaha. I went it twice Ina week and ordered about 2 dozen donuts each time as I was entertaining some guest early in the morning. I was satisfied with their selection and the price wasn’t too bad either.

My coworker decided to be bad and bring in donuts for the office. She brought in a variety pack and I opted for the old fashion glazed. It’s not very often that I eat donuts, but when I do, it’s the bad ones… Talk about sweet!!! I think I have a cavity now ??? Anyways, there’s a history behind this donut shop. My friend indicated that Tan’s used be owned by a really nice couple who have since retired and sold the business. Since then, the donuts haven’t been as good. Thanks to her, I’m going to be wired on this Friday… YIPEEEEEE!!!
