Grabbed a bite to eat here with my son while car was getting smog tested next door… Oops.

I started eating here in 20105 star place BACKTHEN The people working there were very friendly they knew you by name and most importantly they knew how to cook Fast forward 2015 – 2016 the owner fired/laid-off the workers and hired his 2 teenage sons and there buddies 2 sons look miserable and look like there forced to work there for free. soon as you walk in they don’t even greet you and they look like there ready for you to leave already so they can go back to texting Surf N Turf burritos and food in general ain’t what they used to be Really sad that it turned out to get that bad I really loved that place at one point and wish it would go back to how it was People who have been going back there for years notice the difference. My wife doesn’t understand what I like about the place because the food sucks I try explaining to her that back in the day it was a totally different atmosphere and food was better now it’s just another Mexican restaurant…

I love this place! I used to come here back in 2008 when I lived in Oceanside and I had the opportunity to visit again a couple weeks ago and it was just like I remembered! I got the carne asada nachos which I have always loved! My mom and husband got wet burritos and both were delicious, but, seemed like there was SO much tortilla and not that much filling. All in all, I really do love this place.

I don’t know what it is about this places beans, but they are really good. It must be the lard! I always get a bean and cheese when I go here. It usually doesn’t fill me up so I split something else with someone too. I have had their Diablo Burrito and it is very spicy. I haven’t gotten it again. Their flautas are really tasty and crisp. All of the more popular burritos(carne, pollo, cali) are really good and big here. I have also had their rolled tacos here and they are also good. I haven’t really gotten anything here that isn’t good. Make sure to get extra hot sauce from the salsa bar, you will put it on everything Mexican you eat the rest of that week. Even eat it just with chips and it’s amazing. I like the red sauce the most(not the blackened red). They have a drive thru and a small parking lot as well as street parking. You can sit outside or inside. Inside has a couple arcade games. Décor inside are definitely things you would buy in TJ, but it goes well. Buy a burrito at this place when in the hood.

Stopped by after a day at the beach for a late lunch. Our party had California burritos, three mini tacos, fish tacos and a carne asada taco. With the exception of a cabeza taco in the three mini tacos, nothing here impressed. The fish taco had an odd smell/taste to it and was otherwise bland. They state that they put some sort of tarter sauce on the taco, but to me it tasted like watered down sour cream. Bland city. Everything that was carne asada was not seasoned or so little so that I couldn’t taste it. Moreover, it was a little on the chewy side. Not impressed. The Californios were so so, but after adding enough sour cream and cold cheese, I guess it was ok for a teen type appetite. I have been to this place in the past and have decent products but this may be Stacky’s last time. The service behind the counter never smiles both then and now. Too bad. On a good note, they did have a self serve salsa bar that had some fairly tasty salsas. Seating is available both inside and outside. Restroom is available via the key with a stick routine. Tacky, but understandable with some of the Oceanside street walkers. They also offer a drive-through Stick to the San Marcos location for sure.

Honest Review here… The best part of my meal was my coke, I came here based on Unilocal reviews and the photo of the carne asada fries, I have to say they we soooooo not good, the cheese was like cheese sauce not even nachos cheese sauce it was like the powder junk cheese like when u Make that box Mac an cheese, these were the worst carne asada fries ever the beans tasted like they weren’t fresh, I’m almost positive that was a can of beans that was slapped on there! I seriously took 2 bites and was over it!

Salsa at salsa bar tasted about 14 days old. Was carbonated. Tacos were absolutely disgusting. Avoid.

There is still one good taco stand in Oceanside! High quality ingredients for a taco shop. The surf and turf, California burritos keep us coming back. Great place coming out of the waves when you’re starving for some Mexican.

This place is amazeballs. I’ve always gotten great service here, and never had any issues with food ordered. My burrito of choice is beans, rice, cheese and guacamole and they never seem to disappoint.

By definition, a ’ California Burrito ’ has Avocado in it ! Mine had only meat in half of it. The other half had cheddar cheese, meat & sour cream — better. No Avocado Anywhere and for $ 6.10 — That Sucks !

Good service/nice employees, but only average food. And kind of pricey — the same price as a nice sitdown Mexican restaurant but with only a taco shop environment.

Bomb Mexican food. One of my top 3 on the strand. Breakfast burritos are great! The carne asana street tacos are huge!!! The red sauce they give you at the drive through is really spicy. As for green if you don’t like spicy. The rolled tacos are always good. They smoother them in guac, sc, and cheese if you like it that way.

I LOVE this place. The employees used to be a little crabby, but lately they’ve been awesome when I go in. I crave their burritos and their green sauce is on point. I could eat here every single day.

Me and my boyfriend came here tonight when we were heading home. I ordered the chili relleno burrito and he ordered the Cali burrito. Both were amazing and decently priced. This place is honestly my favorite Mexican place I have found since I have moved to Oceanside 8 months ago. And trust me I’ve been to many. I’d rather take to 2 minute drive or maybe a 10 minute walk to come to this place than eat at Alfredo’s which is basically outside my door! The salsa also doesn’t lack in flavor at all! And many varieties to choose from!

3.5 stars only because I’ve only eaten there once and will probably only eat there once unless we’re in Oceanside again. We just stopped on our way home from a weekend trip. We basically drove by and were like«okay, let’s eat there.» I think I just had a bean and cheese burrito. Please fix the sign inside, though. That thing was a seizure waiting to happen. Reading it instantly gave us both headaches and we had to sit outside in the cold to eat our dinner because the lighting was flickering so much inside. I’m not sure what’s going on with that and maybe it’s been fixed already, but seriously. So uncomfortable for eating. My eyes hurt just thinking about it again. Beyond that, it seems like a good local spot for some Mexican food.

Good burritos!!! Chipotle chicken is my favorite! Got some outside seating if you don’t mind the crazies here in Oceanside. All around one of the better«Mexican» places around not sure if it beats out Colimas but its a close second! Service is always quick and with a smile!@

This is likely the best meal I have ever had for under $ 5! I had the 3 mini tacos for $ 4.75. I chose the carnitas tacos although carnes asada option was tempting. The corn tortillas had good flavor and there was an excellent carnitas to taco ratio. The carnitas were tender and juicy. :-) Great flavor. The only place I have ever been to with better carnitas tacos is Carnitas Snack Shack. Great little taco shop here with clean and ample seating. The service was great. My tacos were ready in about five minutes! In a previous visit I tried the hard shell shredded beef taco. It was awesome! The shell was crunchy and was full of greasy goodness. The beef had excellent flavor. The lettuce and tomato were nice and fresh. This is one of the best shredded beef tacos I’ve had. It was under $ 3 and 2 of these make an excellent lunch. I also tried the carne asada taco and it was very good.
