When there’s more grease than tasty bites of pizza, that’s when I ditch Little Cheapers $ 5, $ 8, or even $ 1 pizza products for something I can actually eat(think its nearby competitors Two Brothers from Italy, Upper Crust Pizza, Shakey’s, and Gianni’s Pizza). My husband and I ordered an $ 8 box pizza – half deep-dish pepperoni pizza, half cheezy pizza breads – and got a burnt, greasy pizza. Even with marinara sauce, which was missing from the last time we ordered the same thing, the pizza couldn’t be salvaged. The cashier didn’t give us a receipt, so there was no turning back. The sad part about this order aside from the illegal amount of grease and burnt cheese was that it was made in 5 minutes. I could understand a $ 5 pizza sitting in the warmer for 10 minutes, but not a made-on-order pizza. The service was slow and unhappy(I know as a former minimum-wage earner that it’s hard work). The few workers trying to meet the high traffic made me angry at the management. One or two more part-time workers would give the sad-faced cashiers more energy to actually greet customers. I’d rather pay $ 2 or more at the other competitors than sacrifice service and quality. Also, this wasn’t my first time having a bad experience at this particular Little Cheapers. Many times, the front line forgot to give us marinara sauce that comes with the box pizza, packets of pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese, and receipts. If you’re looking for better quality and service, here are my recommendations: 1) Gianni’s Pizza — $ 2 slices of cheese pizza + $ 4 pints of beer /$ 12.99 Large 14″ pizza($ 7 off if you join as a new member) — Great pizza, made fast, good customer service, unique store environment, no smell of fake, burnt cheese. 2) Two Brothers from Italy — $ 12.95 Large 15″ cheese pizza — Bread is between the thickness of Upper Crust and Gianni’s Pizza’s pizzas, but very tasty with a stereotypical pizzeria look and feel. Great for the family with good customer service. 3) Upper Crust Pizza — $ 13.25 Large 14″ cheese pizza — Thick and really cheesy pizza with great customer service, and if you sit down and love sports, they have TVs on ESPN all day. 4) Albertson’s Wild Mike’s Ultimate Pizza — $ 7.99 Large 15″ pizza — Decent pizza with lots of toppings, take home and bake.

I think little Caesars is a great place. The hot and ready pizza is a steal and there deep dish pizza tastes really really good. My favorite item on the whole menu is the Italian cheese bread. I would eat that all the time. I’ve had a few of their menu items, like pretzel pizza, chicken wings, deep dish, regular pizza and the one with bacon wrapped crust. Overall, I think for the price you get on the food, it’s a really good meal. I only order deep dish because their regular pizza crust is really dry and hard to chew.

*I don’t know how common this is for this location, I only know my one and only experience at this location.* Pros: My pizza was not greasy, my crazy bread was seasoned really well. Cons: My pizza was undercooked, some of my crazy bread was undercooked and others were a little to tough and dry.

This is a place that should definitely be categorized as: BUYERBEWARE! This Little Caesars outlet has changed hands many times, and they recently moved from a less visible location in this shopping center into a unit that used to be Papa Murphy’s Pizza, in between Albertson’s and the defunct Long’s Drugs. I don’t know what their official hours are, but I they seem to close as early as 8PM, which is ridiculous for a takeout pizza place. I have cruised by there many times when I would expect them to be open, and they were already closed for the night… guess they do more business at lunch? Most of these places are short on being customer-friendly, and I guess you need to heed the phrase: «you get what you pay for.» But this particular Little Caesars is THEWORSTOFTHEWORST. They were charging 1% sales tax in excess of the current rate, and when I challenged it, they got belligerent and told me I was wrong. So, I just let the state board of equalization know, and I hope they got a nice fine.(Yes gentlemen, that was me who got you busted, and mostly just because you had an attitude… LOL). They have been overcharging customers for months! Nice way to show additional profit. Bottom line: this is a poorly managed business, and that is reflected in the employees, who are snotty jerkoffs. Another deterrent: this business has been a consistent hangout for sk8ter boyz, so you often run a gauntlet of derisive glares and sneers from them as you enter and leave the business. Short story: I saw an ad on TV for«Hot & Ready» 8 wings at $ 5, so I decided to check it out. First of all, as was the case in my experience, if you ask for a particular flavor, they just grab a container with some wings that have been sitting under a hot lamp, and dump some greasy sauce on it. In other words, the wings are not cooked with seasonings on them, which is the way they make it look. The brusque/arrogant, bald freak manning the cashier register then rang it up as $ 5.55(69 cents each), and when I questioned it, he acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about, then said: «oh, well that ad says participating outlets. We’re not part of that.» The wings were just OK, a small pile of chicken bones drowning in fatty ranch dressing, or something like it. Better deal: Pizza Hut on Wednesdays… wings for 50 cents that look and taste much better… like those you’d get at a sports bar. I’m sure the store a couple of miles away on N. River Road is owned by other people, because they are far nicer and efficient over there, and they seem to stay open much later. I also noticed that they make the pizzas better as well(not as sloppily prepared, or chintzy with the pepperoni topping). Needless to say, I will no longer bother with the subject outlet, and instead go the extra mile to the N. River Road place(next to «Fresh & Easy» grocery store, at the juncture of College at the end of the bridge. Right now(December 2011), Domino’s has a medium pizza with two toppings for $ 5.99 – yeah, a little smaller in size, but a much better pizza. However, you do have to buy a minimum of two. Or, you can get a large, unlimited topping pizza for $ 10 at Pizza Hut, the best pizza of all, and the best deal in my mind.

This place USED to be a household name when I was younger. It was the original pizza joint in Oceanside, before Papa John’s or Domino’s. I remember this place used to be so packed that we waited almost an hour for pizzas. Times have changed and this pizza joint is stictly HOT ‘N READY. Convenient, quick, and simple. Although their pizza is not the best, you get a $ 5 dollar breakfast, lunch and dinner, depending on your appetite. Try the Buttery Garlic sauce with it, but shake it first otherwise it’s gross! Another plus is the crazy bread deal. Check it out.

Basic pizza at a cheaper price is what Little Caesar’s does well and the Hot N Ready pepperoni pizza for $ 5 dollars is where they make their mark. Like any of these places, it’s a no frills, pizza off a conveyer belt place where the taste is mediocre, but for the price, is hard to beat. Certainly it’s better than a Hungry Howie’s where they need a dipping sauce because the crust is so blah! I enjoy this location because without fail, they’ve got the Hot N Ready pizzas just as promised… hot n ready! Crazy bread’s good too but unless it’s already in the little heater oven, I pass on that. Would be nice if they stayed open later than the 9pm closing hour, but considering the crowd that’s out around that time, I can understand why. Oh, no seating here, it’s strictly a take out place.
