I’ve lived down the street from this park since November 2012 and barely just made the walk there with my little one. Let’s see, tennis courts: check. Basketball courts: check. Baseball diamond: check. Playground for toddlers: check. Playground for 5yr olds+: check. Picnic areas: check. Lots of grassy area: check. Sidewalk purposefully set aside for bike riders: check. Skatepark: check. Sounds like the makings of a good park, right? Well, with any public… place you get the riffraff, shady people, kids left unsupervised, however, I’ve seen worse at other parks in nicer, suburban areas! For that I give this park a smile, a thumbs up, and my promise to come back; my son had a blast and I found it pretty relaxing.(You’d think the skatepark would traffic in a whole mess of inconsiderate teenage boys, but to my surprise, that was not the case)

Back in the 80’s this place was pretty nice, only slightly dangerous due to banger activity. In the 90’s it got worse and then got better. It’s still an unsavory place sometimes, but come through like you own the place and in the day time. Heck I used to play tennis here every weekend for years with no problem. On Saturdays there is a guy who walks his pig-dog. It looks like a pig, walks like a pig, but is actually a dog. True story. I wouldn’t necessarily come here a lot and if you do have a good exit strategy like down Cedar and not towards Thunder.

Big park with enough room for a crowd. There’s a skate park, tennis courts, baseball field, picnic tables, etc.
