Beer On The Wall

Is this place closed? I got a subscription for Christmas and the first delivery came, then nothing. What’s up? I see someone said it’s closed. No one will answer the phone and the website is down. What about all the money for subscriptions? They aren’t cheap.

This review is based on my experience so far, after having received 2 deliveries of the monthly installments.

It looks like the company closed down and didn’t care to tell the people who purchased monthly delivery from them. Here I am sitting and wondering where the third delivery is and there is no more website and the phone is disconnected. Horrible.

Ordering: It is very confusing to order from the website. It is very easy to accidentally select continuous delivery, even if you only want it for a few months, or in my case, 12 months. Also, there is no option to select your first shipment/​delivery date. So, if this is a gift for someone, which is very likely, you’ll need to keep that in mind and order only when you’re ready to start receiving the installments. I didn’t know that and had to go through hoops and hurdles to get it changed.
Beer selection: So far not impressed with the beer selection in the first 2 installments. You’re not getting 12 different types of beer. The first month, we received 3 different types, all from the same brewery – so 4 of each beer. The second month, while the breweries were different, we still received 4 bottles of each kind, with a total of 8 of the beers out of 12 being wheat beers. Again, just not much variety. And we’ve already tried beers from all the breweries we’ve seen so far so nothing has really been ‘new’ to us.
Customer service: So far, so good… if you can get ahold of them. They have a telephone line that continually goes unanswered and just directs you to leave a messsage. I had to call several times and email even more just to ensure I wasn’t getting a beer delivered before I wanted it to (this goes with my comment about not being able to select the shipping/​delivery date when you order online). Luckily, someone heard my pleas and it was taken care of.
One other point to note: While the first delivery occured on 12/​17, the second delivery occured on ¼…so just about 2.5 weeks between deliveries. For something that is supposed to occur monthly, I hope this starts to even out.
Overall, not sure if I’d do this again given the expense ($ 40/​month) and lack of variety and weird shipping. But, the bf does still like that he is getting beer delivered to him, so we’ll hold out hope that we start to see more options in our package.

I keep passing by this place while stuck in traffic on the 76. I’m usually too annoyed at the traffic to get off the 76 because i’m so close to home and usually need to pee at that point.
However, I decided to finally stop by. I’m really glad I did.
The place has a fine assortment of rare craft beers, mostly domestic and local, with a few german bottles. It is not as much as Pizza Port’s bottle shop… but honestly, who can compare with that?
It has single beers in a really nice cozy room… one of each kind that they have. Then when you decide on the one you want, you grab a tag and bring it to the counter and they go back into their warehouse (they are mostly online) and grab it for you. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about their beer and they have tried their beer and are good for consulting when you have no idea what you want to drink next.
As if that wasn’t a pleasant enough experience, as I was paying, they threw in a free shirt for me. I didn’t even have to ask. I am happy.

Received a gift from them for Christmas. Pretzels and mustard were good. 5 of the 12 beers I received were expired. Kind of a let down, but I would recommend against ordering from them.
Edit: Response from owner shows he truly cares about the company. I would recommend giving them a shot if you have the chance!

I came across Beer On The Wall while searching for a gift for a person that is very tough to buy for. He likes to try different craft beers from micro-​breweries, so I decided on the Beer on the Wall’s «Top Notch Beer Club». Not only did the person love the gift (which is great because he’s getting it for a year!), but he went to the site and found some other items that are difficult to find locally. Their selection is impressive.
If you have any questions or need a suggestion, the customer service is pretty great, too. They know their beer for sure. I would definitely recommend Beer on the Wall for anyone looking for a unique gift or beer lovers on the hunt to try new brews. Bottoms up!
