Hmmm… where do I even begin… Let’s see… the hostess was totally unfriendly and had absolutely NO personality. The girl didn’t so much as even crack a smile. She was emotionless. Got seated and ordered breakfast. I’d called earlier to make sure that they grill their home fries(not deep fry them) and ordered them grilled. They were given to me deep fried because I «asked for them well done». The waitress didn’t «ask» me if that was ok and just assumed that it would be. I asked to have them re-done only grilled this time and they did it, only I got cold scrambled eggs back because they let them sit while cooking the new potatoes and didn’t warm them up. Orange juice came warm, not cold. And on top of all of that, it was warm outside and they have no air conditioning. I was also given a dirty butter knife– it had stuff stuck to it!!! I was so excited to try this place as I’d heard so much about it over the years and there was so much hype about it and it turned out to be a total disappointment. I wanted to speak with a manager and the lady that I asked turned out to be the owner– even better! Right? Wrong! I spoke with her and she smugly apologized and said«we’ve had a really tough morning» as if that is even an excuse!!! Will NEVER go back there EVER!!! You want a really nice breakfast where you get GREAT food and GREAT service??? Go to The Sindia Restaurant on Plymouth Place between Ocean Ave. and the boardwalk. The quality of the food there is excellent and so is the service, and the staff there is super friendly. Don’t waste your time and money at Oves!

Service sucks, but what shore-spot-staffed-by-surly-16-year-olds doesn’t have poor service. Cider donuts rule.

We all know that Ocean City is a dry town. So hypothetically speaking, let us suppose that you spent several hours putting in work on the beer pong table. The tunes are loud. You’re on vacation, feeling good, and a 2.5 lb box of cheddar goldfish isn’t going to sustain you for the night. You throw on the shades and make the four block trek to the boardwalk for food. Oves’hi Spot is the first food establishment you come across. The menu is regular, average fair but hey … you’ve got to get back to the home base ASAP and continue the party. You step up to the take out window and place an order. Question: By the time you’re order is ready will you still be rocking that glorious buzz or completely sober? Unfortunately the latter and unfortunately for me we’re not hypothetically speaking. My level of rage continued to rise over the next 30 — 45 minutes while we waited for a cheese steak, grilled cheese, onion rings, french fries, etc. All of which take a tremendous amount of time to prepare. My anger found new levels after watching other people’s hostility as an incompetent staff botched order after order e.g. food prepared incorrectly, wrong order to the wrong person, etc. No lie. They tried to give us the wrong order three times. I was so angry upon getting home that I beat my wife and dog. Just kidding. But you get the point. I recommend that Unilocal allow zero star ratings so that I can return the favor to Oves’hi Spot. My recommendation, keep walking down the boardwalk. The food isn’t worth the wait.
