Flounder was freshly caught and delicious, scallops we wonderful; easily sautéed and delicious but several still had their tails…(which I learned from my local family, is supposed to happen since it keeps them fresh longer) Main reason for 3 stars… Crab cakes were absolutely the worst I’ve ever had. 10.99 for frozen. I took a picture to show 1. The filler and 2. The compressed crab typical of canned crab meat. Regular fresh caught crabmeat is fluffy and moist– this was not. We spent a lot of money here for our feast of the 7 fishes on Christmas Eve and our only complaint was the crab cakes which could be so much better… Especially since we expected more from the other reviews. Pros: customer service and availability Cons: crab cakes didn’t live up to the other reviews hype. We will be back to order again and I WOULD recommend to a friend.

The food is simply delicious and the staff is outgoing and friendly. So far we’ve had the fried flounder sandwich, a crab cake sandwich and the shrimp salad. All excellent and served with the best cole slaw ever. We’ve been camping on Assateague Island two or three times a year for 15 years and only in 2015 did we find this restaurant. From now on it will be our #1 go-to place to eat.

Don’t let the exterior fool you. This place has great food, reasonably priced and a nice location on the water. Great for a casual lunch. Fried flounder sandwich was awesome and a generous portion. Take home some fresh seafood for dinner.

Stopped in for a late lunch. Had steamed shrimp, crab cake sandwich, and crab dip. All were excellent. The fries were amazing, thick and with flakes of salt. Off the beaten path to get there button well worth it.

This was perhaps the best meal I had while visiting Ocean City. The flounder was fresh and perfectly prepared. There are a few tables set up on the docks right outside. I arrived late after 8:30(close at 9) but they were happy to seat us an service was excellent.

Martin Fish Company Wow! My first and only visit so far was a hit. I was coming off the beach @ Assateague with some foodie types from Washington D.C., They, my friends, are often put off by the OCMD dining options, They expect too much, too fast, too often — very demanding. Granted they are D.C. Metro mentality & would need to take a Chill Pill daily for a decade to understand how to truly relax down ocean. Collectively we ordered, Shrimp Peelers, Seared Scallops, Clam Strip taco’s, Fries and a round of Iced Tea’s & Corn which I did not try. Working backwards, I wish I had tried the Corn, It looked good. I never eat Corn at restaurants, no reason, I just don’t… Ok, I have a reason, no one cooks Corn as good as I do at home and I see no reason to have less then perfect Sweet Corn, so there! The Fries, hand cut, fresh fried where great, hot, salty, crisp and tasty. The D.C. people caused the first stir asking the type of oil they fry with… The do not use Peanut Oil, which apparently some people cannot eat. The Clam Strip Taco’s, where Fan-Fuck’n-Tastic! Excuse my crass use of French verbage. I would recommend these Taco’s as the best«Fish» taco on the entire Eastern Shore & maybe the World. They are doing something right with these things. The Menu is not completely clear that the clam strips are fresh, but take my word for it, they are! I want to stop for a second and comment that the menu is one of the worst designed menu’s ever. The menu juxtaposed against the quality of the food creates a huge gap for the customer to leap. The classic slow down/relax service reminiscent of the Eastern Shore of yesteryear is refreshing to me, but drove the D.C. types bonkers, making my meal that much better! The Scallops, also prepared perfectly are a must try item. I thought the portion seemed normal, but I was informed that at the price they were offered, in D.C. you would get ½ as many. The Peel & Eat Shrimp, were the best I have had in some time, I don’t want to gush and say the best ever, but I cannot remember the last time I had Shrimp prepared as correct as these. If I had to tweak the recipe, I might ask for extra Old Bay next time I visit, they were a little light on spice for my taste, but they also were the tastiest Shrimp I have put in my mouth in some time, so… I almost forgot, the unsweetened Iced Tea, was just the way my Grandmother used to make it, bright & delicious — the perfect palate cleanse. Martin Fish Company, the obvious experts when it comes to Seafood have a winner on their hands. This is casual dining at its finest. With Beer & Wine available — If you want to experience the culmination of a handful of generations of Seafood knowledge wedged into an actual historic fish wholesale operation, now you can.

Update: Stopped by for the Thursday lunch special the other day which was a Fried Flounder Sandwich that day. The fish was perfectly cooked and was a generous portion for only $ 5.99 with fries. We will definitely be back soon!

I was 4 nights in OC and went to Martin Fishing Co 3 nights so you understand why. It’s started to be a restaurant a month ago. When you go there every car in front of you are stopping before you to eat at other restaurants and making a big mistake because Marty is the last on the street and the unknown by tourist and the best. You can’t get more fresh seafood, cheap, great view. We ate flounders, crabs, crabs cake and everything was amazing. I’m back in Montréal and crying because I’m not there tonight. Probably the best secret spot around OC but it won’t last long ! Go in their facebook for the menu.

Excellent fresh fish served outside next to the docks at the commercial fishing harbor in WOC. Delicious fish tacos. The grilled tuna sandwich is wonderful — generous portions of perfectly cooked tuna. The service is casual and friendly.

This place has the best fresh seafood ever in ocean city. We walked in this place with hesitation at first but then when the food arrived we realized how great it is! We are going to dine here every time we are in ocean city! The back patio with ocean view is really nice! Try the Grill tuna and flounder.

I hesitate to share the secret of Martin’s with the world, as I love the laid back quality of this slightly-off-the-beaten-path seafood market… but I’m fairly confident that only those deserving will seak out this understated emporium of the freshest seafood in Ocean City. If Martin’s was a bar or a restaurant, you’d tag it as a great dive. As a seafood market, it’s a no-frills direct pipeline to the commercial fishermen of Ocean City, MD. If you have your heart set upon tuna or some other specific species of fish, be prepared to be flexible. They only carry what the local fishermen bring in. You’ll get the freshest, but not always some of the standard varieties you may see at a large supermarket. That said, local staples like flounder, rockfish, scallops, etc. seem to be regular and plentiful. Signing up for their email list is a great way to receive a weekly heads-up for what’s new and fresh. We remain on the alert for their sales on lobster. Enjoy the feast!
