My husband and I are in town for our honeymoon and we decided to try to find a «fancy dinner» restaurant. We looked up a couple of places and thought the reviews for this one looked promising. When we walked in, a man was playing piano and the ambiance seemed nice. The décor is a little outdated, and the restaurant is obviously in a hotel but we were willing to look past those details. Our waitress came over and brought our drinks quickly. We ordered the crab guacamole, which was incredible! When my husband ordered a Dr Pepper, he was offered a root beer(because they didn’t have Dr Pepper). He opted for a coke instead(no big deal!), the waitress came back and said they have Mr Pibb, excellent! So he agreed he would have a Mr Pibb… the waitress came back with a root beer. Still not a big deal, it was busy and it was a minor mistake. We then waited over an hour and a half for our food(chicken and steak). The chicken was fatty and was a mix of light and dark meat(for a price tag of $ 22) and was mediocre at best. The best part of my meal was the green beans. Seriously. My husband’s $ 40 steak was also fatty– though his crab cake was reportedly delicious. We are generally very patient and easy to please people, however the wait time for mediocre(and expensive, yet not at all fancy) food combined with the fact that our waitress disappeared after bringing the wrong soda(she breezed past once to assure us our food would be out«in just a moment” — 30min before it was in fact brought out by one of the other restaurant staff)…was unacceptable. The waitress reappeared long enough to ask us how everything was after we’d finished eating, to which we replied«ok” — which, if she was perceptive of body language at all she would have known we were unhappy. She did not care to ask us anything further and dropped the check. I had to go wait at the bar to break cash so that I could leave exact change because we were not waiting around for another 20min for someone to notice that we were waiting to settle our bill. Save your money and go somewhere else. Last night we went to a bar/pub where we had better quality food, a view of the ocean, and it was much more budget friendly. We regret not going back there again tonight.

Could not handle the large than usual crowd on Memorial Day. The management and staff also do not care that the customers had to wait for very long time for the food. We waited for one hour for our appetizer. While waiting, we watched people surrounding us and found that they were in the same situation. Among them, one couple next to us waited for almost another hour after their appetizer for their main dish. Much worse, there was a young family with two young children next to us waiting for TWO hours for their main dishes. They finally gave up, paid, and left. The two young kids were amazingly patient and it was brutal to see them waiting and starving for 2 hours. The waitress only said sorry but didn’t do anything to help the family. No manager was on the floor to explain to the customers why their food was so much delayed. Finally, when one manager was called upon, he gave the young family a lame excuse of «their ticket was lost». Not only this place has a poor management, but also doesn’t care about their customers.

I just had the worst encounter at this restaurant. My fiancé and I are staying at the hotel. We went down to grab some breakfast(thinking it was the hotel lobby restaurant). She eats all natural because of her dietary restrictions so she brought some sushi to have while I ate breakfast. The hostess seated us after we explained what we had with us. The waitress took my order. Then about 10 minutes later here comes the manager. She walks right up and very rudely says«I’m Laura Taylor and I’m the manager. You can’t bring food in here — it’s illegal. We can’t be responsible for food you bring in.» I get it — and have no issues with that — what I DO take issue with is her rudeness. No «I’m so sorry but we can’t…» No «can I make your order to go so you can dine together in your room?» — nothing in the way of good customer relations. I told her to cancel my order and offered to pay for the cup of coffee. It’s off season, 50 degrees and rainy. I would think they’d want to be a little more cordial to those tourists who are here. But I guess they don’t need the customers. I definitely won’t be going back there!

Glad I checked this place out. The food was good, reasonably priced and service was good. I would definitely come back here to try out all the other stuff on the menu. And the kid’s menu portions are huge! I wish i was 10 again.

Our first night in town, looking for a dinner spot and this place was open. I had the crab chowder and little neck clam appetizers… amazing! Wasn’t all that hungry but wanted to eat something… delicious and the service… was impeccable! Mick was great, he made the experience all worth while!

Went to OC during the off season and had a difficult time finding somewhere to eat. This place was open and next to our hotel, so we said why not. For the price of the food, the quality of it probably should be better but I have no complaints about the food itself. Got a pasta dish with chicken and cream sauce, it was a huge portion and great. And a 24 ounce steak with salmon mashed potatoes, which was like butter and excellent.

This was a great surprise to us; it is the restaurant inside the Courtyard by Marriott hotel(3rd floor). We Unilocaled it and it delivered. We have a party of 3 and were not starving. Ordered 3 appetizers and bottle of wine. None disappointed. Everything was splendid. Appetizer portions are big. So are entrées; we saw them in the tables near to ours. Food was cooked to perfection. The ordinary food was served extraordinarily. They also have creative new ideas like the guacamole crab dip which is out of this world. Oysters were fresh and delicious. 3 appetizers and wine $ 70 plus tip. We loved it.

One of my Maryland favorites and around for a long time. A great foodie destination. Tonight’s visit was good but not as great as it could have been. Don’t get me wrong: the cream of crab soup du jour was freakishly good and the fish tacos over the top tasty albeit messy. My server, who shall remain nameless, though efficient, didn’t make much of an effort to connect. Little eye contact and distant. Noticed same approach, or lack thereof, with guests at the next table. Despite this little setback, this is the best restaurant in town. Trust me.

This is an amazing place to dine, if you’re in the area. It is located directly inside the Courtyard Oceanfront hotel. Bae and I decided to check this place out while on a Mini-Vacay. Atmosphere: 5 out of 5 There’s a guy on piano as soon as you walk in. He’s awesome. He played Happy Birthday for someone’s Grandma as they presented her cake. I thought that was super cute. There are TV’s and a bar area on the right. Standard variation for booths and tables. This restaurant has a little bit of something for everyone. Food: 4 out of 5 Everything was good, even the water was amazing. Bae got the duck and loved it. It was my first time having duck and it was very flavorful and the they give you two sauces to accompany. The rice was fluffy and seasoned, and his sweet potato was great too. I had the lamb but it initially didn’t impress me.(STAYAWAYFROMTHEDEMI-GLACÉ) the sauce made my lamb soggy, which almost ruined the meal for me. They were able to crisp up the lamb and remove the Demi-Glacé for me. Mashed potatoes were so on point! The presentation was everything. Green Beans were expertly flavored. Service: 4 out of 5 Our server was awesome. She was right on point with everything. She could describe every dish and what it came with. I’m taking one star away because she told me she couldn’t take the lamb off.(I didn’t want to create drama so I obliged) I initially wanted the steak and lobster so I should have stuck with that, but lesson learned. All in all, I was mostly impressed. The hotel was awesome, the food was awesome, and it made it worth the $ 145 I dropped on a room in the middle of winter.

We had dinner here tonight(Christmas Eve). Food was ok, nothing out of this world but, customer service its a big NONO! We had to wait almost one hour forty five minutes. Thank goodness we order appetizers. When I asked to talk to the manager, he came over and with an attitude, said: we are the only ones open, that’s why it’s taking long. Did I heard that right? Not even an I’m sorry. Please!!! You have to go back to get some classes for customer service! I won’t ever go back here. Beware people!!!

The restaurant is very decently decorated. There was also live piano playing while dinning. The food is fantastic. We ordered from early bird special dinner menu which is cheaper than the regular menu. Shrimp cocktail has huge shrimps. Ribeye is also a generous portion and delicious. The crab cake is very fresh and with big lump crab meat. Even the sides are nice too: veggies are well cooked, soft and juicy, so did the sweet potato. It has $ 1.5 beer and it cannot be missed.

Awesome and beautiful place. Great ambience with excellent piano player on a Friday night. Killer fried oyster app, $ 11. Bread served before dinner a nice hot crunchy sourdough with scoop of fresh butter Fish of day halibut nice size and perfectly pan seared with crab and sauteed spinach. $ 30 This is fine seafood dining and my wife and I really enjoyed it!

Wonderful dining experience, albeit not much of a view. Apparently all the ocean views are sucked up by the rooms, and the restaurant had none. But the service and food were delightful and the live piano music, fabulous! Only gripe(besides view) was the dessert. .if you offer key lime pie on the menu, PLEASE don’t serve an obviously frozen, cheesecake-like concoction with a huge dollop of mediocre whipped cream! Instead, try a REAL key lime pie with a twist of lime and a small dollop of REAL cream. Okay? Thank you! We had a great time and look forward to hearing that beautiful piano again!

Hidden Gem !, Very affordable, large portions, inexpensive kids food and cocktails ! Family owned inside the Marriott Hotel… Highly recommended for dinner and breakfast was also good. Pardon any typos this is a voice text… We were staying at the Marriott on 15th street, we were tired and decided to eat at the Captains Table Restaurant in the hotel. We have been to several other great restaurants on the island this week but this was the best dinner we had hands down! We had our two kids with us and asked that their food come out with the appetizers. they had chicken fingers and pasta(priced right for kids), and we had«Crab Guacamole», this is not at all what you would think. My wife wanted it and all I thought was… NO, …The waiter than gave us a soft sell talking us into it and I agreed, it was awesome!!! I can’t explain it that well because they would not tell me the ingredients but basically I can tell you that it was sautéed chopped jalapeños onions garlic, tossed with house roasted fresh tomatoes giant pieces of fresh jumbo lump crab meat and diced fresh avocado, this is all served warm with some seasonings and fresh cilantro and Possibly a splash of white wine? It was a generous portion with a generous portion of very thin crispy warm fried to order corn tortilla chips, we could have each ordered a bowl of this and been good for the night but it didn’t stop here. Did I mention that they have a live piano player? The kids have been going up to him and requesting music, goodtimes! For dinner my wife and I both ordered halibut but cooked two separate ways. Out of the many ways they offered to cook the fish I ordered mine macadamia nut crusted with lemon burre blanc and wife with crab meat and garlic bread crumbs with lemon burre blanc. We will post the pictures after writing this review. There were several other options for how you can get your fish cooked one of them including to be topped with the crab guacamole which also would’ve been awesome on this fresh halibut. I had not had any bad fish in Ocean City and I was a little bit skeptical to order halibut being that it is not fished in this area, plus the fact that I keep thinking that I am eating in a hotel restaurant, they did not disappoint and this was the best freshest halibut I have ever had anywhere.(did I tell you that I am very picky and I know my food very well? :)) OK, so the halibut crusted with macadamia nuts fell just short of perfect only because a few bites of the macadamia nuts tasted a little off, so I pushed the rest of the crust off the top and ate the delicious fish and the butter sauce with the basmati rice that was cooked perfectly. Both pieces of halibut well very generous and size, the garlic bread crumb and crabmeat crusted halibut was also phenomenal, Fish cooked to perfection in and plenty of crab topping with garlicky crispy bread crumbs and a few more of those house roasted tomatoes thrown in with plenty of lemon butter sauce on the plate to bring it all together. We were so full we could not finish our entrées, all portions were generous and size, the food was priced more than fair for the portion, the service was excellent, our only regret is that we did not eat here the first night that we arrived because we would definitely have eaten here more than once! We had asked the waiter(good service here) if the chef would come out because we wanted to know some of his secrets and he said that the chef does not come out so we told him to thank the chef for us he said that this restaurant has been in one family for three generations and way before the Marriott had been built. Next visit to OC we will be back!

Had dinner here at the recommendation of a local friend. The restaurant is located on the ocean side of the Main Street in the Marriott hotel. There was a man playing the piano as we entered the restaurant. It was lovely music and we enjoyed that very much. We were sat at a table and within a couple minutes were greeted by our waiter Keith. He was very friendly and explained the specials and the menu to us. My meal began with oysters on the half shell. Not bad, but a bit gritty, so I was a bit disappointed there. For meal I ordered Blackened Tuna with buerre blanc, a fresh lump crabcake, a baked potato and Caesar salad. All were delicious and a nice portion. The homemade tarter sauce was very good and a nice change from the standard. My dinner companions had the Macadamia encrusted Halibut which she said was everything she had hoped for. Dinner companion 2 had Blackened Salmon with a lump crab cake. The salmon portion was a bit on the small side in comparison to the 2 other fish dishes, but nonetheless was tasty and well prepared. All in all a very good experience. Our waiter Keith was excellent and had a sense of humor, the piano player was an unexpected treat, and the entrees were great. 4 stars mainly for the gritty oysters and a couple smaller things. Just an observation/suggestion: the silk or plastic flowers on the tables are tacky and cheap looking. Tables would be so much nicer with nothing or a single fresh flower.

You can’t ask for more. From The soup to lobster tails to the crab cakes to the sides. I mean everything was top notch. Capped off with the live piano player and tvs in the bar to catch the game … Perfection. Amazing food in a great place. Can’t beat it and I’ve been coming to OC for 30+ years.

This place was quaint, I really enjoyed the live piano music and the waiter was very attentive. For those reasons I give this place 4 stars. I ordered the chicken and shrimp garlic entrée. I requested no panko breading on my chicken the waiter had to ask the chef and he obliged. The garlic sauce was very good, the sauteed spinach was perfect, the shrimp not so good it had a very bad taste. My darling co diner had the 16oz Rib eye steak, he gave me a small taste of this awesome steak and It was delish(Thank you). My go to drink was a margarita and the first one needed more tequila power. I’m from NYC queens!!! We like a good margarita lol. So my awesome waiter made sure the second one was perfect… I miss NYC!!!

Stayed at the hotel for Memorial Day weekend and came to this restaurant for drinks and appetizers. The crab/avocado appetizer. WOW. amazing! They had a piano player while we were there too which definitely was an added bonus! Bartenders were super attentive and friendly!

I think the food is best in the area. I have gone to OC for many years and it may sound odd to say a hotel«really has good food» but this one does! I have had breakfast and dinner at this restaurant. Both have been very good. For dinner I have order both steak and seafood and both were very good. I just was here in April and they offer good Early Bird Specials.

This is a local, family owned restaurant but is located on the 3rd floor of the Marriott Hotel on 15th Street. We got here at 5:00 p.m. right when they opened & were seated right away. Bonnie came right over & took our drink order. I knew before I went that I was getting the Filet Mignon. My husband had the Crab Cakes. Both were wonderfully tasty. No filler(or shell) in the crab cakes. Steak was tender and the flavor paired with the balsamic and onion sauce was divine. It was cooked perfectly medium. My husband decided that he wants to come back later in the week for his birthday dinner. Be sure to come early to avoid a wait. It was a very pleasant meal and the coffee is really good here too.
