I would not recommend this jeweler. I went to them to have a custom-made ring designed(price range $ 700-$ 800) and trade in a broken gold ring. I knew exactly what I wanted and provided several photos. They promised to order a few gemstones I could select from and said they’d get back to me in two weeks. Then …nothing, two weeks came and went. After I had to call several times to get the status I was finally told by the«master jeweler»(the only person there who could find any information on my order) that in fact, he only had ordered one stone. No explanation was given, nor any apologies for the delays or lack of information. It was clear the store had no interest in this order and no desire to actually communicate with customers or keep track of their work. Seeing that things were not boding well, I decided to cancel the whole deal. When I went in to retrieve my old ring, the master jeweler was very indifferent and contemptuous. He offered me a ridiculously low figure for the value of the trade-in. He insisted on showing me the stone he had ordered, which was a very mediocre stone. I did not care for the color(this gem comes in several shades) but then again, how would they know that since they never bothered to ask me which colors I preferred before ordering it? He made no apologies at all for the complete lack of customer service. This store impressed me on the surface — but in actuality they turned out to be pathetic. It has a nice website and lovely showroom. I’m sure they have some loyal customers — maybe big spenders who live nearby and shop there all the time. But if you just have $ 1000 or less to spend on a one-time purchase, I guess they have better things to do with their time. This is by far the worst jeweler I have ever gone to, I would give them Zero stars if I could.

I had a slide made for a slide bracelet made at Quinn’s about ten years ago. It is fine, but when they added it to my bracelet, they did not do it right. There are beads that one adds to the two fine chains on the bracelet to stop the slide from moving. The repair dept. did not use them, they were still in the packaging. The slide does not stay in place at all. I have a gold watch from Quinn;s, from the Qccoquan store, purchased about 13 years ago. i brought it in for a new battery. The repair people would not touch it, as getting a solid 18 karat back off of the watch was too risky for them, as it could bend. The owner, Terry, m was the only one who could do it as he had a very fine knife blade in his pocket that could safely remove the back. I need a battery again, but don’t know if Jerry is at Occaquan anymore, or at his new store most of the time. I have to schedule my trip to accomidate him, and I have to travel a distance to get there, Batteries are free for a watch you buy there, but it is too much of a hassle. I hope to find a jeweler I can trust, near me. It is easy to ruin the back because the gold is so soft. I did not go back to complain about the slide because of the distance to the store, and my disgust that a jewelry store could not accomplish that simple task, I hope they have improved since that time, as I know there were some issues they were dealing with, i.e. personal stuff.

I have had 12 years of wonderful experiences with Quinn’s in Occoquan — twelve YEARS. I can only speak positively of how well I have been treated there. My family her in VA will ONLY go to Quinn’s for their jewelry and jewelry repairs. I have always been greeted with a smile(and an offer of a beverage/having my items cleaned for free), have had my needs/concerns listened to attentively and then addressed accurately, and have found their custom work to be amazing. They made(from scratch) my wedding set and the fantastic craftsmanship is evident in its condition… perfect even with daily wear for over a decade. I made the mistake of going to another jeweler while out of state, only to find my item had been damaged and a diamond actually fell out of my setting(!!!); upon returning to VA, I immediately brought it to Quinn’s. I knew I could count on Terry to make things right. As for the negative review posted here, it’s in complete opposition to all I’ve ever experienced myself at Quinn’s. Perhaps it was a one-time incident, perhaps with misunderstandings involved? Either way, I was so surprised by it, I decided to write my own opinion/review, as I feel many perspectives should be presented so buyers/customers can make informed decisions. I am confident you will be able to make your own decision immediately upon walking in the door — best wishes.

I’m pretty disappointed in Quinn’s. We bought our wedding rings there over 10 years ago and the service was generally good although I do remember the sales lady being extremely confused on what initials to engrave inside my husband’s band. We must have told her at least twice and good thing we reviewed the order form before it was turned in because she had written down the wrong initials anyway! We also referred my brother in law and his wife there for their wedding rings. Anyway, flash forward to 2 years ago. My husband bought 2 charms during a special event in fall 2010 in which the jeweler created silver impressions of our kids’ thumbprints for a necklace for me. They are nice although the etching of their names on the charms was a little sloppy(the jeweler must have hand etched them, not stamped them). Also, it took the jeweler almost 3 months to get this done. Quinns never called my husband to let him know the charms were ready, he had to keep calling and calling them. Shortly after that our third child was born and I must have called Quinn’s EIGHTTIMES during 2011… the conversation always went like this: Me–«I’d like to know when or if you are planning to do the thumbprint charm event again.» Quinns–«The jeweler doesn’t have the materials yet, we’ll put your name and number on a list and call you when it comes in.» EIGHTTIMES. ATLEAST. And I never got a call. Lo and behold, a few weeks ago(Sept 2012), guess what Quinns is advertising? A thumbprint charm event! I won’t go back, and I won’t be referring anyone either. I found a great place on the internet for my third charm-her charm was cheaper, done more quickly(less than a month) and looked nicer as she had stamped the name on the charm.

My fiancé just bought me a 2kt diamond ring and i absolutely love it. I have been to other jewerly stores to see what they all carry and they do not have the different styles as Quinns. I will always shop at Quinns, trust me once u have been there u won’t go any where else.

Quinns is not a place I’d ever recommend. My wifes engagement ring is a family heirloom. A beautiful antique ring thats been in my family for well over a hundred years. Its plaitnum and diamond and beautiful and passed down through generations. we brought it in for sizing. A couple of women who work there were less then helpful. there was an older woman who was insistant it was gold no matter what I said and the other woman ‘middle aged’ told my wife SHEMAYASWELLGETANOTHERRING!’ Seriously? anything for a sale right? See, these people forgot what jewelry actually is. its a lesson in sentiment. Its about memories and lives, its a talismen. And its meant to be that. When people work on commision they usually have no concideration for the people they sell to. I found them to be rude, unproffesional and arrogant. They upset me to no end and made my wife cry. Unilocal is a good place to vent ones loves and not loves. Quinns thinks its o.k. to remove bad reviews, do it again and I will take out an add in your local paper every week for five years. shame on you.

My fiancé bought my engagement ring at Quinn’s in Woodbridge and raved about the wonderful customer service. When I had to bring the ring in to get it re-sized, I was able to experience it for myself. I had been traveling a lot for work and was only in town for two days before having to hit the road again. Maggie and Laura took excellent care of me and my ring was resized from a size 7 ½ to a size 5 ½ in two days(and it was a holiday weekend to boot). They were absolutely wonderful. I would wholeheartedly recommend Quinn’s in Woodbridge to anyone. My ring is gorgeous and the customer service really cannot be beat.
