Vianey’s Kitchen

Pure awesomeness! It’s been a few months since I’ve paid vianey’s a visit. She always has a tasty weekend special. I had her moms special mole enchilada today and it was just amazing! I also just learned they now have a liquor license and will soon be serving happy hour. Exciting to know their menu is also growing. Can’t wait to come back to check out their happy hour menu! If you want something other than burritos and tacos, this is the place to be. They have that and many more. Thanks again Vianey!

I had a groupon for this place, and am I glad I did! I’d never have known about this place had it not been for them. It is in a peculiar location, and when you get there, it’s almost difficult to tell there’s a restaurant inside because the produce side of the store stands out much more.
But in I went, with a very hesitant friend, but we were glad we stayed after getting our food. I do not think the person who wrote the 1* review ate at VK. The food was so fresh it nearly jumped off our plates. In fact, we were going to order something but Vianey advised against it because she didn’t have it fresh that day and she would have had to use frozen.
As another person said, she is a total doll, so sweet, so pleasant, so helpful. Because she makes so many things with which most of us are unfamiliar, she has very helpful pictures showing you what you ask about and explains each dish as she goes.
The barbacoa is served only every other weekend, so if you want that call to make sure it is the weekend for it. That is my next visit, and I look forward to it. This is one really independent little gem that I really hope makes it.
Really good salsas, and last but not least, it is VERY clean (including the bagno).

Vianey’s Kitchen just has a standing floor sign outside the eatery. the outside name on the building still reads «Los Pericos». Los Pericos Market is still here. (Vianey’s and Los Pericos are separate businesses).

Vianey is a real sweetie! I was coordinating with her for a birthday party. She was very nice and flexible. For one week we were going back and forth with ideas and she was patient.
This place a hidden gem in the middle of Oakland. The food was delicious and the refillable chips and salsa was a major plus. My favorite dish was the shrimp cocktail. So light, tasty and the shrimps were cooked just right. Our sangrias were lovely too!
Our orders came out fast and service was pretty awesome!
We will definitely be back really soon!
