The Claridge Hotel

This is formerly the Ridge Hotel. Had a family member who lived there and knew several people. Two lawsuits later, this place is still horrible. Bed bugs, rude staff, and owners/​managers who don’t care about anyone. Collect rent and this is all they care about. Even with armed security and cameras they now have, you still see folks hanging out in front, prostitutes in the building and outside. Security are on the internet or cell phone most of the time. No security at night and overnight staff sleeps.
Walk inside and see how bad the lobby looks. The store inside is ran by the most unclean, unprofessional person I have ever seen. Screaming and hollering at residents. Every time I go there, the cops are there for something. Staff or mgmt ignore tenant complaints. This place should be closed and reopened with a new look, new staff, and yes new owners. They have no clue how to run a business, let alone a residential hotel in downtown Oakland. No other place is this bad. Don’t even think about moving in this rate hole. Oh, and they have the nerve to want $ 700-​$ 800 a month for a shoeboox with no kitchen or bathroom.
