Taqueria Camelia opens in a once empty storefront. a decade or 2 ago, there was a chinese eatery here. the fresh paint on the window didn’t dry yet when i entered.
music: festive mariachi music
menu: sobes, burritos, tacos, tamales, menudo, quesadillas, birria, jugos naturales. (didn’t see menu, overhead menu not completed yet)
sampling:
–jugo naturales (pineapple 2): tasty, not too sweet, pineapple pulp at bottom. .
–chicken tamale (1.50): small size, corn mesh kind of dry, didn’t taste chicken
–rojo tamale (1.50): small size, freshly made saturday, very tasty, corn mesh soft, not hard,
–menudo (8) tripe very fresh and slurpable. broth bland, reddish, msg aftertaste. lst time for menudo, can’t compare. just observed.

–open kitchen, fresh ingredients used
–birria, menudo, tamales freshly made on saturday, sundays.
–free parking on side street, metered in front.
–msg use very noticeable in menudo borth, -.5, thus 3.5 stars.
–not all menu items available at all times, yet.
