Yikes! Subway should fire the workers here or close the shop. They managed to get every part of my order wrong: type bread, size, type meat. And managed to scowl the entire time. Do not come here.

I hate giving bad reviews but this place is horrible. I went in here today around 6:30pm there were no other customers. My boyfriend and I look at the menu and the woman on the register pays us no mind. She is entering something in the register. My boyfriend then says politely«we would like to order» and she says«one moment». We wait«one moment» and then finally I say«we will go somewhere else to eat» the woman gives me one look and back at her register. She didn’t care one bit. The sad part is this the SECOND time the same lady has done this to me. Will defiantly be writing corporate.

No stars worse subway location needs to change management and their workers. No customer service what so ever. Ladies please smile or atleast greet ur customer. Lack of customer service they should close this place or hire better workers who looks like they wanna work

I went there yesterday against my better judgment, because I have been here several times and it’s always been the same… bad. The same thing all the other reviewers said plus I like sourdough bread and never not once mind you after 4,5 visits have they had any. And she act’s like it’s my fault that I have the audacity to ask for it. Never, I mean never ever will this sorry excuse for a subway see me or my money.

If i could give this place zero stars I would, They have the worst customer service ever, the staff SUCKS! they never smile, they always rush you, and dont you dare think about asking a question to the staff — they will probably not answer you or give you a stupid answer. I was charged to «heat/toast» my sub. Then I asked for a chicken noodle soup and I only got 8 noodles I am not joking, i counted them LOL I wish i would have taken a picture to show you all THEN I only got 2 pieces of chicken the size of a dime, the rest was salted water. YUCK! not worth $ 3.00 I’ve been to many other subways and never have they charged me to toast my sub. When I asked about the $ 2, 6inch sub they said they dont honor it. WHAT? I gave this subway many chances(over 5) yet they continue to provide customers with the most disgusting service in all areas: food quality, Cust. Serv. cleanliness, etc. Im done with this place

I’m a white dude and I got the same lady and was treated the same exact way. It was an older middle eastern/Indian woman who looked as if she didn’t even like the fact that I walked into the already empty Subway. I asked for a footlong on sourdough and she said rudely«We don’t have sourdough» So I then said okay give me the Italian bread and make it a chicken bacon ranch… She started to put the oven roasted chicken on my sandwich instead of the chicken that actually goes on it and when I said I’d prefer the chicken that actually goes on it she sighed and threw the chicken back in the bin and said I have to go to the back and get it, and then she threw the bacon off of it back in the bin and rolled her eyes… Right at that moment I said you can just fucking forget it, fuck you and your attitude and I rolled out. I will never be back at this Subway. Oh it was also 200 damn degrees in there ! I threw up a little knowing that I had to give one star ! If I was a chick I would of smacked this trick ! Seriously I can bet she is single handedly responsible for lack of business in this particular Subway. If the GM/Owner of the store continues her on his payroll, he will be out of business by the end of the year I am guessing.

Subway does not belong in Jack London Sq. At lease not this Subway. The atmosphere there is very unpleasant and it’s not because of the customers, but the staff, particularly an older woman, mid eastern. Her expression is very«COLD» and MEAN. I came in there today(12÷04÷14) for a sandwich, the bread that she presented(Wheat) to me was stale looking and the ends were burnt, When I asked her(SANDWICHMAKER) to let me see another slice of bread(Italian) she presented to me in a HAUGHTYWAY. Its was very obvious that she didn’t want to serve me, because as soon as the young lady who had just cashed a customer out, this rude woman immediately transferred my sandwich over to the young lady and told her to start on my sandwich. Not because there was another customer waiting, it was simply because she didn’t want to serve me. I don’t know what her problem is? Oh! I have an ideal, but I will be accused of playing the race card, and my complaint might not get POSTED. However, like another previous Unilocaler wrote about the sandwich maker, which I am sure is the same person, maybe this soulless woman have a problem a certain group of people, because as I was leaving I notice that the same sandwich maker was now serving a blonde hair Caucasian woman, and she was serving her with a BIGWELCOMINGCUSTOMERSERVICESMILETHATWASNOTGIVINGTOME. It only takes one time for anyone to treat me with disrespect for me to not to return and spend my money at its location, and though by not returning to this Subway will not hurt the staff or the owners. Which I believe that the mean spirit lady is the owner, this makes me feel good about not spending my money on a business that is POISON,

Pretty much what everyone else has stated. It’s actually pretty funny how everyone had the same service, honestly. I too got only one napkin when asking, crazy. DOESNOTBELONGINJLS! Subway, get a new ownership or management over here please. CASHONLY!

This is the worst subway I have ever eaten at. I’ve given them three chances. Normally the woman who runs it is just not friendly. No smile. She acts annoyed that I’m actually eating at her franchise. But the food has been edible. This time I ordered my sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup, which is never a problem at any other subways. This was obviously watered down. With ONE piece of broccoli and no cheese in it. They had to try to make it that bad and cheap. Purposely ripping off customers. The girl who made the sandwich was just as bad as the soup. Lettuce on half the sandwich, didn’t know what I was talking about when I asked for crackers. Subway needs to strip this owner of their franchise.

I had the fantastic idea to take my mom on a day trip via a ferry ride and envisioned a nice picnic on Jack London Square. Unfortunately this was the only sandwich shop open during the late afternoon on Labor Day. The woman behind the counter was rude. No acknowledgment that I was there. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought she had a bad day. Nope. She spoke very softly(like she was annoyed that she had to do her job) and was annoyed I asked her to repeat herself. She rolled her eyes when I asked for a second paper of wrapping. She wasn’t pay attention when i told her what condiments I wanted but got annoyed when I corrected her. She failed to give me my change — you guess correctly — got annoyed when I asked for it. When I finally opened my sandwich, the cheese was not melted and bread was not toasted(note: I asked for my sandwich toasted and saw her«heating» it up. Disgusting. I’d like to submit my formal complaint with Subway.

Agreed with most of the reviews. Food taste like subway. not good or necessarily bad. Hence three star. Points withdrawn for reasons below. — unresponsive, not friendly service — drop toasting tray on ground and still used without cleaning — checkout lady is very abrupt and almost impatient

I believe I had the same sandwich maker as the person before me. No smile, impatient, and looked as if I was bothering her. However, when a «lighter-skinned» gentleman walked in behind me, she was almost overly friendly towards him. There were no napkins readily available, so I had to «bother» the lady for one. And when I say one, I mean just one napkin. I’m just going to chalk up this experience to the fact that maybe they’re used to locals at this particular location here in Jack London Square. It’s a shame, because I like to tip when I can.. .definitely not today. This place gets two stars only because my flatizza wasn’t as terrible as the service.

Been here several times and frequent many Subways in the Bay Area. This outlet is typically«out» of 2 or more of the bread varieties. The manager speaks rudely to the help and is stingy about providing water cups(even when we buy sodas with meal) and dont even think of using the franchise’s deal coupons, etc. unless you like seeing the boss lady grimacing like you’re stealing from her. The sandwiches are a bit less satisfying here which is a shame for this city.

The Subway employee making my sandwich could not have been less friendly or less agreeable. If I had videotaped our interaction and played it on YouTube, no one would believe that the whole thing hadn’t been staged. Her attitude was SO poor, you had to believe that it was fake. She never asked me if I wanted the bread toasted(standard question at Subway), initially refused to follow my instructions about putting vinegar on the bread, and didn’t say«thank you» or anything else at the end of our transaction. I would think the Subway franchise people would want to know how this operation is tarnishing the brand name.

This specific Subway probably is the reason why I don’t like going to any Subway. The staff their is very rude. They do not greet and basically just looks at you with a blank stare. That makes no sense to me. Its a customer service environment. therefore, employees must greet, serve, and try to give the customer the best customer service possible so that they keep coming back. Thats not the case here. It seems that they dont even try. They also need to be more informative with the customers. Like if their credit card machine or register is not working and we need exact change to get a sandwich. I like subway sandwiches. its just that this specific location ruins it for the rest for me.

This is the only real lunch place in Jack London Square, with that said, they have a monopoly for everyone working here. I’ve come here multiple times, and each time it’s been slow, the employees don’t understand what you’re saying and the price is different each time. Today 2÷3÷14 was the worst by far. I watched the person at the register, make people’s food, take ONE glove off, handle food and money with BOTHHANDS, then run me up, when they rug me up, they handed me my card with a gloved hand. then proceeded to PUTTHEOTHER glove back on, and handle food. When I said something about it, quite loudly, she said she changed gloves and I told her I watched her put the same ones back on. she then proceeded to tell me it was ok. HOWEVER — the county health department tells otherwise, they have MULTIPLE infractions from their last inspection in AUGUST of 2013, and guess what, washing hands, keeping food cold and contamination issues where on it. Just stay away. really, it’s not worth getting sick over at overpriced $ 8 sandwich.

The combo deal comprising a six-inch sandwich of the day, chips, and soda for $ 5 appeared to be a great deal. However, I must advise that one use the rest room elsewhere though. I recommend if you drink the soda and need use the rest room afterwards, be prepared for less than friendly customer service as one of the lady’s behind the counter told me that the rest room was out of order rather than making the key available. While I was visiting there were two housing authority police eating at this restaurant so this is a good place to run to if looking for a «secure» place to hang out if trying to avoid crime. Since police have to eat out regularly, it appeared that these officers have surveyed the area for the most affordable good food deals. Food is fine and the person who made our sandwich was fine as well as the person who accepted our payment. However, customer service on the back-end could be nicer. If crime is an issue here, I did not witness any but it was nice knowing there were two taser armed officers sitting behind us so it was probably one of the safest restaurants on the wharf during our lunch.

Jack London Square on the cheap! After working in a windowless Oakland data center for 14 months, My Lady finally showed me the light: I am just a 10-minute walk from Jack London Square, my favorite neighborhood in Oakland! Walking through old warehouses and electric power plants, past huge trains in the street blowing their horns, it’s an adventure just walking to lunch! And the reward is Subway. It doesn’t face the water, it faces the Embarcadero and Yoshi’s, but it’s still a Subway with the menu and prices that I expect. The crew here works diligently during the lunch hour, making sure everyone is served quickly. The customers are working-class people, you know, no pearls or diamonds, but plenty of jeans and flat shoes. A 6-inch tuna salad sandwich, not toasted, and a «small»(OMG in whose imagination is this small?) fountain soda cost $ 6.53. There is enough seating to handle the dine-in traffic, and the room is dark and quiet. Except when one of those monster trains comes blasting by the front door. It’s a good thing I like boats and trains.
