By far the most honest and humane dentist ever. Not trying to get the extra buck from you and make you do any unnecessary procedures like most dentist these days. He tries to save your teeth and save you from pain. His skills are beyond extraordinary. I had an estimate from another dentist which wanted 4,000 from me. Wanted me to do 2 crowns and 2 root canals… took the xrays to dr. Shen he drilled off the decay and filled it like fillings thus saving my tooth and saving me from pain. No crowns needed.

I’ve been going to Dr. Shen for 5+ years now and he always lets me leave his office feeling reassured that my teeth aren’t going to fall out. He’s a very practical dentist, trained at USC, and really knows what he’s doing. If your teeth really, I mean REALLY, need work then he’ll recommend it; otherwise, he’s never looking to make a few extra bucks off you. Money’s pretty tight for me as a grad student, so I really appreciate and benefit from his expertise.
The office is only open Wednesday and Friday afternoons, as well as Saturday mornings and appointments are required. He is pretty difficult to reach by phone, which is the only reason I’m not giving him 5 stars.
