Another amazing balayage from Tracy! This time she added some extra lowlights and the result is sexy dimension! No less than 4 friends commented that my hair looks thicker and asked what I did! Her placement of lowlights is an art.

Tracy is not professional and didn’t want to fix the mess she left on my hair. I live in Mountain View and tried to make there on time, but as I hit traffic, I was 15 minutes late and she didn’t want to see me anymore. She wrote me: «when you failed to show up for our scheduled appointment, it indicated to me that the adjustment was not a priority for you.»… «i have no options for you.»… «i consider this matter closed, and would happy to refer you to a colorist that is more conveniently located for you.» She is the worse«professional» I have ever met in my life. I payed $ 160 for that work.

Well, I read the reviews on Unilocal to find somewhere to get my hair done and I have to say, Tracy was ASMAGICAL as everyone boasted. Wonderful energy, beautiful work done on my hair, in a very quick time. The salon itself is so adorable, natural light, such a great feeling in there and Tracy herself exudes positive confident kindness. She did exactly what I asked for and totally got me from the bat. I am a HUGE fan and so thankful.

I don’t know if I caught her on the wrong day or something, but I called her on the phone to make an appointment, and she was so rude that I ended up canceling the appointment-making process. She seemed offended that I had called because of her Unilocal profile rather than having a referral. She acted annoyed, and then said that MAYBE she could fit me in, as if it were an inconvenience to her. Then she seemed extremely annoyed when talking about my hair as well. That’s all well and good, but if she only wants clients via referral, then why would she bother to put up a Unilocal profile??! And then get annoyed when people use it?! I don’t care how good you are, but if you can’t treat clients or potential clients with respect then the rest is useless.

Love this place! I was fortunate to get an appointment with Tracy last weekend and I am 100% happy! She took the time to really listen to what I was going for color-wise and gave me some great hair care tips. I felt totally confident in her abilities – she did beautiful light blonde balayage highlights for me and made the whole experience a lot of fun. I highly recommend this salon and can’t wait to go back. I have GOT to update my photo to show my new color!

I was lucky to get a referral to Salt Air and I absolutely love the talented and professional work Tracy does. The salon is cozy, clean and chic; and each time the attention is superb, she goes out of her way to offer a beverage and makes sure I am comfortable. Thank you Tracy for always giving me fabulous hair color!

Tracy should update her Unilocal page to reflect that she is NOT accepting new customers; this will help people not waste their time trying to reach her for an appointment. Not very respectful of other’s time. Thankfully, too many great salons in the Bay Area to settle for a diva with an attitude.

I was a loyal client of Tracy’s for over a year. I was always happy with the dark brown base color I got. It was an easy appointment, I was in and out in an hour. Then over the summer I decided to go a bit lighter and get some highlights done instead of the dark all over base color I normally got. Also, I was moving out of the country for a bit and wanted a hair color closer to my natural shade. I was NOT happy with the highlights. It looked exactly the same from when I walked in to her studio an hour and a half before. Tracy’s response was that the highlights would get lighter over time. Well, they did not and now I’m out $ 130 with nothing to show for it. This was last year. Last week I decided to give Tracy another try and make an appointment to get my base color done since I had always been satisfied with that in the past. However, Tracy decided that she would not see me again since last time«our encounter seemed very unsatisfactory». Is it not the burden of the hairdresser to make the paying customer happy with his/her hair? With that being said, if you are not happy with a service performed do not expect it to be remedied.

Tracy is… magical. That’s the only word to describe her. What she does seems so effortless, so fast – but the results speak volumes about her talent. I went to her with orange, stripey, unevenly toned hair – karma for trusting the discount haircuts lady with a job as serious as ombré highlights(never again!). Tracy wasn’t even fazed by the state of my crazy hair when she saw it. We just had a brief discussion about what I wanted vs. the reality of what my hair would do color-wise, and then she started working. I have a ton of hair that is mid-back length and I would say it took her a total of 30 – 40 minutes max to get all of the highlights hand painted in my hair, plus she had to add low-lights to fix the damage done by the previous stylist. Once she completed the blow-out(it took her all of 15 minutes to get my super-frizzy hair straight and dry), I could see the magic. She was able to convert my orange stripey mess into beautiful, ash-toned blonde highlights and an ombré style. Never thought I’d have hair this cool ;) And she’s super fun and hilarious to talk to as well, so it makes the process that much more enjoyable. Thanks, Tracy, you are magical – I’ll come to you for all of my hair coloring needs from now on! :)

She did it again! In the past year I did some really naughty things to my hair while living in Mexico(bleaching it blonde/dying it red & then dark, dark brown) & I then asked Tracy to give me Victoria’s Secret/Roxy girl highlights that will get better & better in the sun(so I won’t touch my hair while living in Mexico for 4 – 6 months) & she outdid herself again. Not only is she talented, but she’s an absolute pleasure to be around because she loves what she does & loves life & it shows!

Tracy is absolutely amazing. She nailed exactly what needed to be fixed from my old, grown out balayage. Afterwards, she assured me that if I didn’t love it, that I should call her and she would fix it to my liking. Not only is she a very talented colorist and balayage specialist, but she is also extremely personable. I enjoyed our conversations and time flew by fast in her company.

Just saw Tracy last weekend! It’s been almost one year! My hair grew out so nicely that when I told my friends I was going to get my hair colored again, they said«Why? You’re hair is ombré already and looks good!» Anyway, I wanted to go lighter and get the belayage treatment again, but I still wanted to keep my look fun and professional. Tracy did just that! It’s a totally different, lighter look of honey and caramel highlights, but it’s definitely me. Tracy did a great job matching the new color to my older grown out color and it looks natural. She did warn me that it would naturally get lighter over time and welcomed me to come back and get toner in case I thought it was too light. So far, it’s beautiful!

I found Tracy through Unilocal just as many others have because I was looking for someone who specializes in ombré. I also decided that I was tired of getting my hair done every 5 weeks and Tracy reassured me that I would only have to do my hair once or twice a year! I am one of the biggest drama queens when it comes to my hair(or most anything for that matter) and tend to freak out/cry every time I get it cut/colored. I met with Tracy briefly to discuss what I was looking for which made me feel like she was willing to take as much time as needed to ensure I’m happy(great news!). I scheduled an appointment with her for a few weeks later. I have a lot of hair so it typically takes a long time, I thoroughly enjoyed chatting and getting to know Tracy while my color processed. Once the finished product was ready I absolutely loved it. THATNEVERHAPPENS, seriously, never. I was so happy even though it was a big change. She made sure that I was happy and offered to see me again if it turns out there was anything I didn’t like. This was September of 2012 and it is now mid May of 2013. I can honesty say that I have never been happier with my hair. My only mistake was getting a haircut AFTER doing ombré(cutting out a lot of the blonde). I would recommend anyone and everyone to Tracy… er…now it will be harder for me to get in. Oh well, she’s worth it! Thank you Tracy. I will be back soon!

Let me just say, this is the first review I’ve written and I’ve had my Unilocal account for over two years. I HADTOREVIEWTRACY. I say this because she is the most knowledgable, friendly, down to earth hair colorist I have ever worked with. I made an appointment online and less than 24 hours later she sent me an email asking me what my hair currently looked liked, what I was looking for, etc. I told her I was looking for ombré color on my naturally dark brown hair. I had been wanting this hair style for over a year but was having trouble finding someone who I felt confident enough in to do it. When I arrived at my appointment, we discussed again what I was looking for. We looked at a lot of pictures and after pointing out my likes and dislikes I felt like we were absolutely on the same page. After this we got started! She did her magic and voila! She was able to color my very dark hair into a beautiful honey brown ombré style. Basically, if you want ombré, balayage, or any other gorgeous hair color, GOTOTRACY! I can’t reiterate this enough. You will NOT be disappointed! Plus, she is such an awesome person to be around. Because of this, your appointment will go by lightning fast and you will leave feeling happy and with a smile on your face!

I cheated on my colorist. I’ll admit it. It’s over. Tracy is my new color girl. I have had foil highlights nearly my entire adult life. And geesh, does that get boring. I went to Tracy because I wanted ombré highlights. Yes, I know that fashion blogs will tell you that they are out of style, but whatever — they look sick. So I booked a consultation first with Tracy, who flat-out told me that she would not bleach my hair lighter than the lightest highlight that I already had out of fear that my head would turn into a mess of broken strands. I appreciated this concern for my hair’s health. I dutifully followed her instructions to deep condition at least twice in the two weeks that preceded my service appointment. I arrived at my appointment(her chair is in the Sakura Salon, by the way) armed with color photos of what I wanted. The highlight placement all looked the same to me, but no — with her skilled eye, Tracy noted what was different about each and confirmed what I wanted. With lightening speed, she then painted and wrapped my hair in multiple layers of plastic wrap so that I looked like I could keep in the refrigerator for at least a week. The end result is an ombré with good but without an over-the-top, hated-by-fashion-blogs distinction between the roots and ends. As a professional, I couldn’t do anything crazy. The color she gave me is perfect And of course, as everyone has noted, at the conclusion of the treatment, Tracy gave me a big, bouncy blow-out that I’ve unsuccessfully tried to emulate at home. In addition, her pricing was very reasonable, especially considering that with ombré, I don’t have to return for about 6 months(!). Tracy has skills to pay the bills. I highly recommend her.

Just wanted to update this. A lot of times you go for your first 1 – 2 appointments with a new person and it’s love and after several appointments they repeat the same old formula and the romance is over. NOT so with Tracy! I am happy to report that after almost a year of monthly appointments Tracy is still creative with my color. I am all gratitude for her energy, skill, ability to make it new every time, and the way I look and feel after my appointments.

I had my hair colored by Tracy a month ago and am just getting around to write this review. I am new to the Bay area and more than a little nervous to have anything done to my hair. She really is an artist, taking her time to discuss exactly what it is you are looking for and giving you excellent advice. A month later my hair still looks great and I’m still getting compliments on the color. It is so perfectly natural and sexy… what my hair wishes it could do on its own. On a side note she has the best personality! Someone you instantly wish was your best friend.

This Mama has got her groove back! After giving birth to my lovely daughter about a month ago, I decided I needed a bit of me time and opted for a new haircut and color. In the past, I had gone to my favorite place in the city for both my cut AND color but with a newborn in the house, I couldnt leave the house too many times for long periods of time. So I got my cut there one day and searched for a place nearby my home for my color. And thank goodness I stumbled upon Tracy at Salt Air Salon. There is no signage at the front of the building, but that didnt stop me from finding her place easily. Her studio is tucked in the back of a building that houses a bunch of mini salons. She was working on someone else’s hair when I walked in 10 minutes before my appointment, but with such a friendly smile on her face, Tracy welcomed me in and had me grab a seat while she finished up her current client. I had an idea of what I wanted for my color and even brought in pictures but it really wouldn’t have mattered if i didnt bring any pictures, too. Tracy is seriously sooo good about color and has really mastered it. She definitely knows her stuff and will be honest with you on what will look good with your skin tone and what wont. During the whole process, I felt like I was getting my hair colored by a good friend because she was just so easy to talk to. By the end of my 75 – 80 minute appointment, I walked out feeling like a million bucks! I will definitely be going back to Tracy for my touch ups!!!
