The guys at Rouse tires are total pros. I came in with a flat, they assessed all of my tires, and I went home with 4 new tires installed just a few hours later. All at a reasonable price with a warranty on the tires and their work. I would recommend them to anyone looking for new tires, as they are the real deal.

These guys are terrible. I don’t know how they get good reviews. My wife bought two new tires from them. They put them on the front. We got a flat months later and we discovered that the locking lug nuts were missing on both sides. Other nuts were fine and not loose.
Went back to see if they had the nuts, and they refused to even look or ask around about them.
They told me they must have been missing before, even though this implies they installed both wheels with one nut missing and never said a word at the time. When I asked if they would really do that, the woman there told me. «yeah, when we’re busy.»
My wife clearly recalls giving them the key for the nuts and getting it back with no comments. Am filing a complaint with CA Bureau of Automotive Repair. Even if they didn’t lose them, which
it looks like they did, they still seem OK with sending cars out short on lug nuts’
Also when I called for and appointment they told me to come over and they would fit me in. When I arrived I was told there was a two hour wait.
Dangerous and Rude

Still the best tire shop around. They are pretty organized, the work space is clean and the lady at the counter who has been there for years is totally awesome!

Super nice, gave me 2 used tires for a reasonable rate and could not have asked for better customer service. David was awesome!

I came in today to have my tires rotated. The woman attending the shop (I believe her name may be Sue) suggested that I wait 6,000 miles or so to do it because the front tires weren’t that worn out and it would be safer to drive with the tires in their current position given the winter temperatures in the bay area. She was honest, attentive to detail (when she checked my tires) and very affable. You can’t do better than that. I’m taking all my cars here from now on.

Unilocal did not disappoint in this case. i had a not-so-«slow» leak, and it was time to change out my tires for the winter anyway, so I brought in my mud and snows to have them changed. My current tires seemed a bit shot, as well.
Funny thing — Volkswagen somehow NEVER mentioned that the mud and snow tires they sold me should not be used in the bay area! They are some crazy hard core snow tire — for people who live in winter temps always under 40 degrees! The rubber is formulated to not work well over 40 degrees. Needless to say, I live in Oakland.
So it turns out my existing tires are fine for winter rain even though VW told me high performance tires are bad in the rain and I should get a pair of M+S. Not surprising the ineptitude there.
Then she kindly explained to me because of the odd size of my wheels, the tires i had on for that speed rating are actually more money to replace than if i got a faster speed rating, because they are so rare at the existing speed rating!
I had to replace all of them, because they were old and shot, and she made sure to offer a cheaper brand, along with the Michelin, and explain the differences. I learned more about tires in 20 minutes talking to her than I have in the rest of my life combined.

I got very fast and friendly service. They found a nail in my tire that another tire shop could not find. They showed me the hole + nail. And made a quick repair. The price was reasonable too. Tire problem? I would go there again.
I did go again to get one new tire that did not match the other 3. Installed by a different tire store. The worker explained the problem and ordered a proper type of tire an was delivered in one day. It was installed quickly no I was on my way safely. She answered all my question about tire problems.

I came here because I got a screw in my tire. It was raining and I Unilocaled a place that could help me. When I walked in I was directed to a kind lady behind a counter that told me the shop was closing for lunch. I was a little disappointed because I was in a hurry but hey, they have to eat too. I waited until after lunchtime and they finished with my car in a little under a hour and a half. I give this shop 4 stars because there’s no waiting area. Although, I was satisfied with the service, the shop was clean, my car was done within the estimated time frame, and the price was reasonable.

Well that was a nice no fuss experience. Slow leek in a tire, drove in and they were working on my car in minutes. Out the door about 25 mins later, all done. $ 30. I’m assuming it fixed it completely; tire pressure has been normal since and they gave me a tag to remind me when I would expect to have to replace my tires.

Came in with a slow leak in my tire, unfortunately the hole was too close to the sidewall to repair. Sharon spent a good of amount of time looking for the correct tire through her network of distributors, checking warehouses throughout the country. Because the tire is a run flat no one could get a replacement delivered by next day, so Rouse remounted the tire on my car and sent me on my way without charge. Way above and beyond what I expected.
Needless to say the next time that I need tires I’m heading straight to Rouse. They are a local, family owned business in Oakland since 1946 and they are more interested in making life long customers than making a quick buck.

Such helpful, wonderful staff. They really go out of their way to make sure you’re getting the best service possible. I got my tires replaced here and asked about getting a new spare (the one on the back of my Honda CR-​V was stolen). They saved one of my old tires for me, directed me to a reliable place to buy a new wheel, told me exactly what to purchase, and popped the new one on for me for free. Genuinely kind folks. I’ll be coming back.

These guys are great. They did an excellent job on my car. Highly recommend this place.

Brought my car in to repair a flat; it was done in one hour for $ 25. Been driving on it for a month. Very efficient, friendly service. Recommend!

The woman at the front desk was fast, efficient, and a great communicator. Service was fast; however, I would have preferred that it be done right the first time.
A couple things:
A) On their website they advertize a $ 10-​$ 15 discount per tire. When I mentioned this in person, they said that since it’s on their website, every customer gets that discount, so it wasn’t factored into my quote. Why advertise any sort of discount then?
B) I received a call saying they couldn’t get one of the lug nuts out of my tire and they were going to have to brake it. They did not have the part or capacity to replace the broken nut, so I had to go elsewhere (and pay elsewhere) to get it replaced. When I started calling around to find a shop that would be able to replace it, the first number I called asked if I had my tires changed at Rouse. Apparently this happens there all the time. This was a major inconvenience and set me back another $ 100+ in labor elsewhere. That’ll be my first and last time I go to Rouse.

Fantastic service, been twice already. Everyone appears very friendly and knowledgable.

EXCELLENT service, low prices. They are super honest and always check all of the options before suggesting new tires or something more expensive.
Both times I’ve been I’ve had nails or bolts (a couple of inches long!!) in my tires creating slow leaks. The service is first-​come-​first serve, but it’s always quick and easy same-​day!
Love the woman who runs the window. She’s a no-​bullshit lady and is always a positive conversationalist.

I destroyed another tire a couple months ago, and although there were 5 cars ahead of me, I still got out of there pretty fast – and a very apologetic Sue Rouse for the wait. Now that there’s a Whole Foods, I just wandered over there to pick up some random things I didn’t need and was easily distracted by said wait.
Now, if only so many other life problems could be solved so fast, professional and easily!

I was drawn to this tire service because I got a flat tire on the side of the freeway, 580 and needed road service. I am not familiar with the area so I looked on Unilocal for area services. I called them for road side service which they do not provide but they took time to refer me to a company that arrived within 10 minutes of my service call. Excellent customer service!
When I came to the shop they offered me a fair deal for 4 tires… Actually less then Costco! They were efficient and professional. I highly recommend them.
I suggest coming early. The set up of their garage is tandem. You want to be the 1^st car. :)

I was handled promptly and professionally by someone who walked me through my options patiently, kindly clarifying or repeating when there were things I didn’t understand. I withhold the 6^th star because the wait area did not offer complementary massage. But close: I waited in the park by the lake a block away. Whole thing took about 45 minutes.
Also: they answered their phone quickly and explained the best times to come in (hint: not lunch time), and that they offer no appointments.
