Lovely addition to the Montclair area, great wine selection with flights setup for tastings as well as a full bar. Lovely bites with very sharable plates, also a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere! Would definitely suggest this to lovely little gem to anyone in the area!

Great food and reasonable prices. Fun drink menu. We especially loved the mixed nuts and steak sandwich. So happy to have them in Montclair.

Pour was big disappoint. We had higher expectations. First, the prices are VERY expensive. $ 10BASIC salads, $ 16 steak SANDWICH with a tiny side salad, $ 12 Mac & Cheese. The steak sandwich had nothing on it except grilled onions. Happy Hour only consist of two wine selections a Pinot Grigio & Zinfandel and $ 5 beers. Not much of a Happy Hour. Another Unilocaler wrote is this a restaurant or wine bar? It’s neither at this point.

ugh two strikes and I’m out. not sure this place knows if it is a restaurant or a lounge and with a name like Pour, it is laughable watching the bartender scrutinizing every drop, crouching to make sure his pour is exact, and by exact I mean extremely stingy. wine list is meh and small. food is uninspired and shamefully cafeteria-esque. service = all your food all at once, drinks some random time later, even if you say«I’d like to start with…» when you order. the décor is blah and the room is loud, with the sounds of the dishwasher who appears center stage in the open kitchen at the back. arugula salad with fennel, pine nuts and currants, with added chicken: untoasted nuts and fruit hidden on the bottom of a sad plate which arrived –steaming hot?- way before our drinks or water or anything. irregularly diced and unsalted and unseasoned chicken breast, overcooked beyone belief and tasting of nothing but oil, dumped on top of the arugula. just sad. shrimp ceviche: just chopped shrimp(rock shrimp maybe even some of them) mixed with old-tasting pico de gallo. steak sandwich: tastiest thing by far, but inconsistent — once super super duper inedibly salty, once not salty enough and with onions not nearly caramelized as much as the first time. bread is nice. best thing but not enough to get us back to eat there. mushroom bruschetta: jesus do NOT use stale frikken bread. toast some fresh bread until it is crispy! twice now, the bread! jeez seriously it is so so stale and gross. get some fresh stuff! really this is just goat cheese on a piece of toasted stale bread with sauteed plain mushrooms on it and a drizzle of pesto on the plate but otherwise not very seasoned or very exciting. mac and cheese. so boring and unsalted and flavorless and textureless. and not steaming hot. my nephew could make better mac & cheese — when he was 4. the one star is for your casual friendliness, both owner(I think) and waitress. something needs to happen on the restaurant front in Montclair… but this sadly ain’t it.

Stopped by here on a whim after ending up in Montclair during commute time. I was pleasantly surprised to have a wine bar here! Very limited food selection, but it was good. We went for olives and bruschetta as appetizer, chicken and the ravioli for dinner, ending with the cheese plate, which we couldn’t finish. I had the pinot grigio flight and the second, from the Anderson Valley, was wonderful. A good neighborhood place, filled by what appeared to be locals. Only problem was the noise: the rectangular shape with bare ceiling and walls made it hard to hear eachother. Suggest some tapestry ornamentation on walls, and some structure or hanging objects from the ceiling to dampen the noise level. Small children were present(I love kids) but their parents let them run in and our of the place; since we were a middle table by the door, I had to protect glasses from their antics. All in all, a good addition!

It took a little bit for our first experience to get going, as the waiter seemed a little too eager at first, but, in retrospect, it might have just been that classic Hangry feeling. As the good beer, nice pasta, quality salad, and the particularly fantastic steak sandwich showed, our enjoyment shot up quite quickly. The biggest regret was having made desert plans for later, so I still need to return to try the cheesecake.

We paid forty dollars each, excluding wine, for a Valentine’s Day«special.» This was a mistake. The cheese plate was paltry and the salad perfunctory. The pasta was evidently retrieved from frozen(Trader Joe’s?). The dessert consisted of inedible cheap ice cream(Lucky’s?) dribbled with an artificially colored substance possibly meant to resemble strawberries. We don’t blame the«chef,» whoever might be playing this role: this kind of systematic cheapness is a management decision. The one mitigation was that, of the three«paired» wines, two — a pinot grigio and a cabernet — were better than passable. A scant half-glass of each was provided for an extra eighteen dollars. A port served with dessert was unmemorable. Of the décor, the less said the better. On the whole, we have to chalk this up as one of our unhappiest dining surprises ever, and hands down the most overpriced.

Nice place-flights of wine by region or varietal. Warm atmosphere with small plates-but the soup combination can make a nice meal. I don’t complain about restaurant prices anymore, particularly in Oakland with the mandated wage. Good food and the staff were helpful. Will return.

Pour replaced Metro. Pour’s limited menu is more designed for cocktails and nibbling than dinner. Nice atmosphere, almost coffee house like. Had the tomato soup and grilled cheese. All was good, but for $ 14 a bit pricy. The shrimp ceviche is good as are the cheese board selections. Good selection of beers and cocktails and wine. Food for 4 plus drinks can to $ 126 before tip.

We were staying in the area so this was a great local find! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, pleasant atmosphere and good food. We went two nights in a row and will be back when we are in the area again.

Great addition to Montclair!!! Was a little nervous to try Pour because it seems that that particular location is kind of jinxed. Metro had pretty good food, but found I never wanted to go because of the dark, cold, stuffy ambiance and high prices. So I’m not really sure exactly what Pour did to improve the ambiance as it was still a little too dark for my liking, but the vibe was much more uplifting and positive than its predecessors. It was busy, tables were full, but not too busy… and as people left more came in so the tables and seating were almost always occupied. You can choose to sit at more casual comfy sofa chairs, regular restaurant seating, at the bar or bar high tables. There was a tv over the bar, but it was situated so that those in the dining section wishing to interact with their fellow diners were not disturbed by the tv. Wine menu was good and offered flights. Had some great local craft beers on tap(Yay!). AND the beers were different varieties, including an IPA, Double IPA, pale ale, lager, Porter, and Stout. They also serve hard liquor. GF got a dirty martini and gave it a thumb’s up. Food was delicious. We got the mushroom buschetta with pesto and goat cheese, the ceviche served with an abundance of tortilla chips and the tomato bisque with grilled cheese(pure comfort food). I want to try the risotto. They were serving two types: grilled chicken and leek, and mushroom and kale. I also look forward to trying the kale salad. For dessert we had a lemon pie made by an outside bakery. Maybe not the best choice. It was good, but not great. Probably should have gone with one of the house desserts: a bread pudding or semifreddo. We finished off the dessert with an excellent Zin Port. Service was good. Very friendly folks who were attentive to your needs. They were maybe a little over-whelmed, but copped to it and did their best to make you feel you were being paid attention to. Definitely a place I will return.

Stopped in to check out the newest restaurant/wine bar in Montclair. I was very happy to find that it is great! We were warmly welcomed, and were happy to see that they are serving lots of great local wines and beers and also delicious small plates and dinners. I had a wonderful squash soup and ravioli with pine nuts, and my husband had a chicken mushroom risotto. We split a delicious house-made bread pudding for dessert. The owner was there and checked in at each table to make sure all was fine. Service was friendly, prompt and professional. The restaurant and bar area filled up by 7PM. I’m very happy to welcome this new restaurant to Montclair!

OK. time to make good on my New Years resolution to applaud people doing wonderful things in the Bay Area… WOW!!! Pour is a really delicious surprise! If you like super fresh, super tasty, locally sourced YUMMY food and drink with some delightfully creative flares, GO! We had a great night at Pour with really good food, local spirits(hooray! St. George Terroir Gin!) and some lovely people as well. Montclair is a funny little area… in some ways you don’t expect amazing food, but it’s here. We had the steak sandwich… perfectly cooked with grilled onions and a really nice bread. The Lacinto Kale Salad was dense and flavorful… it had a light creamy dressing that melded with almost raw but tender kale, and some kind of sweet and savory flavors with dried cranberries and lemon I think? I’ve had kale a million ways… this was really really nice. And a butternut squash soup that would have been a fine meal alone with a slice of their bread. I love when people pay attention to doing things really really well. What a pleasure to have food made by these folks. Kristen was serving us at the bar– really knowledgable, friendly, gives you time to try things and figure out what you’re like. I had a really nice Pinot Noir and saw many drinks I want to try in the near future. I also like the space; you can actually watch sports AND have really amazing food(2 things that are not always possible at the same restaurant) or sit at a table and have a more intimate meal and have amazing food. Montclair has easy parking and a gorgeous rail-trail for pre or post meal walking. If you want to get away from some of the Bay Area craziness but still enjoy the slow food whole food truly good food we have here, check out Pour!

Just opened in Montclair Village this month — Pour Wine Bar. Seating is at the bar, high tables, low tables or the comfy living room style chairs up front. Wine list gives a variety of reds, whites and roses by the flight(always fun), half or full glass. They serve food nibbles to accompany the wine but I didn’t partake… yet. The place was pretty much full by 7 pm. The service is knowlegable and friendly and they made certain not to interrupt two old friends catching up. I will be back!
