The cost is what it is (mine was mostly covered by insurance), but you get what you pay for. Chalmers is an endodontist, not a dentist, and charges accordingly for a specialist.
Dr. Chalmers has salvaged not one, but two botched root canals, one from a dentist, and the other from one of Oakland’s «leading endodontists» which caused me years of headaches and sinus infections due to infection from two roots left undone. He’s also done two root canals himself. I’ve never had any problems or pain from anything he’s done. My dentist remarked upon the excellence of his work, & opined that he saved two teeth that she had thought would have to be removed and replaced by implants (costing many thousands more than the teeth Chalmers saved).
Dr. Chalmers uses the latest equipment, and he is very skilled and thorough. He and his staff give extensive follow-​up. He is an excellent professional and worth every penny!!!

After having to make two same-​day emergency visits for tooth pain and swelling related to a severely infected nerve (the result of a botched filling done by a different dentist 6 years ago) Dr. Chalmers finally did a full root canal on me one week after our first meeting.
I’ve had some really bad experiences with dentists in the past, and I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about root canals in the past so I was pretty freaked out about having to get this done. But thanks to Dr. Chalmers’ incredible skill the procedure was quick, easy, and entirely painless. And not only did Dr. Chalmers do a wonderful job with my root canal, but he’s going out of his way to contact one of my previous oral surgeons to update them on my status and confer about how this is going to affect some implants I had put in several years ago.
The total price for my two emergency visits & the root canal was $ 1,240.00 which I think is about average for this kind of work. Dr. Chalmers also went out of his way to do the root canal in a way that wouldn’t require a titanium post to be put in the tooth, which saved me a couple hundred bucks.
