The short: Hipsters and minimalists unite! There isnt much floor space to this place, but they take full advantage of the vertical space and the light adds a nice ambiance. Although it’s in the Jack London area, this area is mostly residential and there aren’t a lot of stores nearby(yet). Oakland Supply Co. offers only items that are made and produced in the US, ranging from local Oakland to Portland to Brooklyn to everywhere else in between. I liked the layout of this place that I wanted to share the compliments to the the lady there(the manager) who said that the owner who arranged the layout also owned Oaklandish, another hip shop. I know some shopkeepers are iffy about people snapping pictures, so I asked first and she replied«Go right ahead. Snap away!» If you’re looking for a spot to snap the next hipster/minimalist picture to add to your artfully curated insta feed, this place will offer you ample lighting and lots of angles. Although I came to look for a gift for a friend, I left empty-handed as I’m more budget tight, though I don’t mind coming back here every now and then to get some inspiration from the store layout and maybe splurge on the hand creams.

I’m the antichrist of Oakland hipsters, but I love this shop! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and what really sells it is the great customer service. Despite being a new spot, it has a neighborhood feel in Jack London Square’s warehouse district. The interior is over-the-top fancy like most new businesses in Oakland, but it works well considering the target demo. It is a great spot to find unique gifts, and the rotating inventory keeps it fresh. I’d go far as saying this is one of the best gift shops in the Bay. Keep up the good work Oakland Supply!

The merch is pretty pricey for the type of stuff they have, really surprised they are still around, but I guess somebody is buying the stuff. Interesting how the majority of the reviews are left by Elite Unilocalers, hmmm

If i owned a shop, it would look just like this store! I live in SF but will make a point to visit Oakland more for some Bicycle Coffee + a stop to Oakland Supply Co. for some cute gifts for my friends(candles, backpacks, or cute jewelry).

Such a lovely shop with lovely people. I stumbled upon this by my work on my way to Blue Bottle and was so pleasantly surprised. The people there were so friendly, the selection was lovely, and everything felt so special. A great place to buy something unique for loved ones or yourself! I don’t feel like the prices are totally outrageous, but I had just come from inspiration shopping in SF :) Go here! Support a local shop!

Oakland Supply Co. is a blink-and-you-miss-it sized store, tucked away inside an old brick building in the waterfront industrial(and now also residential/retail) area very near to Jack London Square. A sister store to Oaklandish, Oakland Supply Co. features locally-made and, more broadly, American-made goods by artisans in Oakland, the greater Bay Area, and across the U.S. The concrete floors, brick walls, and vintage vibe with lots of modern accents is exactly my style, and every single ware being sold here are of high-quality and are beautiful to look at. Admittedly, things are expensive here, but the craftsmanship and the fact that so many of the items are made by hand makes the sticker shock a little more bearable. Plus, you’ll more than likely walk away with something unique that’ll make people stop and ask, «Where’d you get that? I’ve never seen that anywhere.» I picked up a sterling silver ring called Going in Circles by an artist named Hannah Naomi, and I can already say with confidence I’ll be wearing it every single day. A beautiful piece for $ 32. Jewelry, bags, lotions, soaps and candles, home goods, gifts, and more line the shelves here, and I really do feel you could find something for almost anyone. I would make a special trip to Oakland Supply Co. for another visit and recommend doing so if you haven’t been here before. I think you’ll really like it!

Stumbled upon this place during a lunchtime walk. Fun store to peruse and admire all the local/handmade items from jewelry, bags, art, soaps, etc. Will definitely have to come back and spend more time… as there is so much to see. Wonderful living art of succulents growing on a shipping palette.

This store is specific for hand made goods from places around America. Think of the general store in SF etc Things here will be on the pricey side but I managed to get a reusable linen lunch bag for $ 14 and my brother got a coffee poster for $ 30. I personally like this store because it’s almost like a gallery. The design space is beautiful and its just a great place to drop in and window shop. The store employee was very friendly and made me feel welcome into the store. You didn’t feel pressured to buy something. The location here is just one block from a blue bottle too I recommend visiting this place along with the blue bottle!

This place is just awesome. This store is located in Jack London Square, just one block from the Blue Bottle roaster at 300 Webster, so perfect walking distance! They sell all hand made goods only made in America. It reminded me very much of the General Store in SF/LA etc. It literally screams hipster central here, from handmade soaps and bags to cool designed hiking bags and posters. Not everything in here is ridiculously overpriced compared to some other stores I’ve been to. I’ve gotten a lunch bag for $ 14 and a coffee poster for $ 30. You’ll either see things are hugely expensive, or decently priced. Regardless of wallet size, you have to appreciate the handcraft feel of each product. Staff is always nice and welcoming, even if you’re looking around. Def. a place to see if you’re visiting or just around the area! PS: they got a cool succulent wall outside their store! Perfect for some photo ops!

I love this new shop down in Jack London Square, and something always catches my eye as I’m walking around in the neighborhood! It’s currently my go-to stop for notecards and small gifts, and I’m now the proud owner of some locally made, framed, and California-themed wall art. They also have a great selection of bags and backpacks, but I have to stay away from that section; I am definitely not hip enough, nor do I really need another bag… But I could defintely go for another screen printed tea-towel, right?

Ran across this place as I was parking to go to my cousins apartment. It caught my eye and looked like a lot of cool clothing /hats /bags were in there. Was helped out my Keernan(spelling) and he explained the background of the company. Ended up walking out with a hat, will definitely be back when I have more time so I can pick up some more pieces. Cool ambience, great looking Oaklandish clothing /accessories and a cool staff! Will also be telling my friends about this spot

Another nice addition to Jack London Square. This is a very small retail shop, but they have a lot of great items to look at. Some are on the pricey side, but they all seem to be handmade. And from time-to-time, they do events. Definitely check it out!

This shop is really cool. Like, almost too cool for me. I’d say everything in there could be described with the adjectives, «artisanal», «hipster», «local», and«hand crafted.» Looking for a great housewarming gift? Pick up some local jerky, spices, or vinegar, or maybe a handmade bag or leather jewelry.

Oakland Supply Co. is another Oaklandish outlet. first time i’ve stepped into one. clothing, curios, drawings, scruptures, farming utensils.(hoe or whatever it’s called, going for $ 84?) these farm instruments are sharp. doubt u need a special license for them. in the hands of a skilled martial artist, deadlier than nunchakus.(maybe cheaper too). whoops! my bad! it’s just the delta 9 ipa(ontario, oregon) talking. Oakland Supply is right next to Chop Bar. interesting artisan locally made goods, goods can be utilized or displayed on your fireplace mantle. eats too, oaktown jerky(6),? chocolate(3) probably will be back. for the jerky of course. :)

Love, love, love stores and this little store was full of surprises. The staff was super friendly and she was very detailed in explaining how each artist operates and showcases their pieces here at their store. From wallets to purses, the fact it’s local and American made did it for me! They also offer spoons, tableware, bags, jewelry, and etc. My next gift will definitely come from here!

Oaklandish sent me an email recently, announcing the grand opening of Oakland Supply Company, which was held today. I love grand openings because it gives me the opportunity to browse, shop and meet the people/employees in the store. Music was provided by the people who did the grand opening of Oaklandish’s second store on Fruitvale Avenue, and y’all know it was jammin, rockin — Oakland/Oaktown style… hey, hey. They also have some nice freebies — get a free flower for just being there from Bloom That(based out of San Francisco and the website address is ); buy something from Oakland Supply and upon showing a receipt from the business, one gets a complimentary bouquet of tulips wrapped in a piece of burlap from Bloom That; free glass of beer and/or red wine, lunch(chopped pork, tabouleh salad and wheat corn bread), compliment of Chop Bar; a free t-shirt(Oakland Supply Co. in black) if one takes a picture or few of Oakland Supply and post it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I shopped, posted photos on Facebook, hubby got a free glass of beer and t-shirt and I got a lovely bouquet of tulips, which was later given to my mom, and two free lunches from Chop Bar. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth if one gets freebies… lol. Oakland Supply Company has an assortment of merchandise — locally manufactured/produced and/or Made in USA. I love this concept, as items made here instead of in foreign countries are of better quality and it’s also a way to support small businesses and entrepreneurs in this area. They have tools, leather goods, jewelry and accessories, grooming and beauty products, kitchen and artisan foods. Basically, the store showcases local wares and American-made goods. Purchases: two bottles of BBQ Sauce(S&S Brand of San Francisco) — $ 10 each; 1 oatmeal stout beer soap(Hand-Brewed Soaps of Oakland) — $ 5.50 and per the husband/wife team, «don’t worry, you will not smell like beer after you use this soap»; 1 You Dirty Dog soap(Owen & Fred of Brooklyn, NY) — $ 9 and their statement is «just because you work like a dog doesn’t mean you have to smell like one. Freshen up right.» The soap is also 100% vegan. Ingredients of You Dirty Dog Soap are: «distilled water, saponified oils(sunflower, palm kernel, rice, bran, coconut, shea butter), essential oil blend(Peru balsam, black pepper, cedarwood), activated charcoal and rottweiler musk.(Y’all please don’t ask me what rottweiler musk is and/or what it smells like… lol.) Overall, this store is a fun place to browse, shop and take a few photos. Prices of items in the store range from moderate to pricey; however, I recommend stopping by and checking it out — it’s definitely a «happening» store.
