We were woken up early this morning by someone pounding on our front door shouting«fire! fire!». Turned out that it was our neighbors house, two doors down. My hon of hons hero husband pulled on some clothes and ran over to pound on her door to warn her to get out! Fortunately she wasn’t home, and neither were her two dogs. As he was running over there I was calling 911 but the operator told me the OFD was en route. Sure enough, four fire engines showed up in minutes and the crews sprang into action, breaking down the front door, sawing through the roof and breaking through the skylights to make vents for the smoke to escape. They had the fire under control in minutes. It could’ve been a lot worse as it was very windy out and there is a house under construction right next door. We were so scared the flames would spread to the wooden structure but fortunately the OFD was so quick and on top of it that there was nothing to worry about. Five big red ones — thanks OFD! You guys are wonderful!
