This place is a rip off!!! I went in just to get an appraisal and the guy behind the counter tried to treat us like we were stupid. I came in with Gold and Silver Eagles and they appraised the coins at spot price, which did not include the physical premium. We are not trading Gold and Silver on the market, we are physical holders of Gold and Silver. There is not a mint in the world that does not charge a physical premium. Surprised this place is still in business.

I had a wonderful experience lately working with both Steve & Sharon! They were easy to work with and I found some fantastic jewelry for the love of my life. Great deals and great people. –Andrew

it has been quite a few years since i visited this business but when i went back this week i instantly remembered why i loved this place. the owner(i believe it was the owner), was super friendly and helpful. I got exactly what i needed and for a price i could afford. I hate haggling, but really didn’t have a lot of money and when the owner noticed how uncomfortable it was for me to ask for a discount, and how much i wanted it, he dropped the price just enough for me to be able to purchase it., Thank you Oakland Jewelry Exchange!!!

Not much of a coin shop, at least for foreign coins, and what they had was on the pricey side. Who knows, they may be all right for US coins, bullion. Seemed like a decent shop. This review is for foreign coins.

Fabulous! I had a bunch of jewelry that a family member had passed along, but I had picked pieces I liked and the rest nobody was interested in. I have never sold jewelry before, but I figured it was worth looking into and if any value I would give it back to my family member. Well, what a great surprise! I walked in and was promptly greeted by Cain. I explained the situation and we laid out the pieces and he began evaluating and explaining the process to me. Imagine my surprise that only one piece out of about a dozen was not of any value! A 10 minute stop turned into quite a nice chunk of change for stuff that was just going to sit in a drawer. Cain was a HUGE help and I am on a mission to purge for other items that I can take in. Wonderful to find a place that is helpful, friendly and fair. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you!

Recently I drove by Oakland Coin and Jewelry with my husband and I was remembered of the good service I received there. First off I have never sold there or pawned any jewelry in general as I would prefer to sell on ebay or another avenue with that said I can say this is a good place to buy due to prices being no where near to retail or even clearance retail! I would bargain down 10−25% as each piece is pre marked and gold market may have changed. I also offer cash if they will not come down which has been received with smiles and acceptance after they have checked with the owner. I also ask to weigh items in grams and or look at diamond/diamonds with a loop. I have found them to be quite honest. Honestly I have been impressed with the quality of diamonds… I have never seen anything below Si-1 which as Im sure any diamond lover knows is where the value goes down hill. Its worth checking out and if you are looking for something specific you can call first and ask them if they have what you want.

I’ve only gone in here for the coins, and what I’ve found was frankly amazing. The foreign coin selection was small, but very diverse and interesting, and waaay below catalog prices. In fact, every time I’ve gone in there, they let me know that their foreign coins are on sale 50% off except for silver, which is frequently sold a melt price. I’ve bought from hard-to-find territories, including some German states, Ionian islands, etc. They were very helpful, standing with me as I moved the rotating trays and picked out one or two per tray for them to take out for me. Very friendly service.

Friendly enough staff, but please be advised to get a second opinion/quote before selling gold coin bullion here. Their expected margin for profit is quite high.

This place is really whack. I went in there to check out their precious metals and the guy behind the counter didn’t know anything about anything. All their display cases are empty and their stuff is way too overpriced.

Misled on the phone; price changed alot when I went in. Stay away. I described my items properly on the phone; owner quoted one price; when I went in they advised … really did not mean that price I have to multiply by this and that and lower it. Classic bait and switch price offer.

No frills, combination serious coin shop and estate jewelry store. The shop display cases haven’t been changed since the Zeigfield Follies were playing down the street at the Paramount Theatre! But if you can get a parking spot(it’s downtown)… and if you get there BEFORE they pack up all the merchandise in the display cases(about 45 minutes before closing time)… and if they come out of the backroom and acknowledge you… they are very nice and they really price their stuff to sell. Their guard dog is nice, too!
