3 wisdom teeth extracted; Extreme pain, vomiting, bruised and excessive swelling.
Received additional Rx for vomiting. 3 days later, hot nasty ooze from the extraction, back to Dr. Ng to flush out area of INFECTION !!!

I was referred to Dr. Ng by my dentist for to get an implant to replace a tooth that was beyond repair. I was initially frustrated with some billing problems that I figured out was more of an issue with my dental insurance. Dr. Ng has a great staff and he is honest and efficient.
He will often see you on the drop of a hat because he cares about his work which is why I think he stands out. I stopped by a few times for billing issues and and he was always like «come sit down in the chair so I can see how that bone is healing» and I was out of there in 5 minutes.
I am very happy with my implant and bummed that I am moving away and will not be able to go there again if I have issues that require his work.

Horrible experience.
If this will be the last place on the planet, removing teeth professionally, I still will not go there. I’ll pull my own tooth out with pliers, it will be cheaper and LESS painful, I am sure.
I was pregnant, 6 months along, and they made my molar extract so painful, I was screaming and crying, and my baby was kicking so violently, I was afraid she is in trouble. But yes, it was fast. 15 minutes at most. The anesthesia shots (extremely painful) did not kick in fully until I was out of there.
They also put stitches on my gum and those were supposed to dissolve by themselves, but they did not, and I had to go there again to remove them, as they were really bothering me.
Ugh. Never again.

I don’t know what else you expect in a dentist or oral surgeon. Receptionist scheduled an appt, checked insurance, and told me exactly what everything would cost. My appointment was on time, procedure didn’t hurt, doctor ng was very clear on what to expect.

Do not go here!
They do not care about their patients.
I got my wisdom teeth out two weeks ago. A week afterwards, I had a small infection on the left side. They told me to come by so they could flush it out. I went in and they saw me immediately, started the procedure immediately and even pushed me out immediately. Everything was so fast that the topical anesthetic didn’t even have a chance to kick in. It was a really painful process. I even let dr Ng know that I was in pain but he kept saying ‘almost done, just a little longer.’ Uhm really? I’m paying you, so you should take care of my concerns.
The next week the same cheek was irritated but I was out if town. I called in to see if I could get a prescription for antibiotics because I was worried that it would turn out to be another infection and I would have to go through the pain again. The receptionist said she would tell dr Ng and he would call the pharmacy before he got off work. They close at 5 and I called in again to see what was going on. It was only 4:50, the dr left, and my prescription wasn’t placed. I was in pain for the next couple days and my cheek was swollen to the max. I cleaned it out myself.
The service is horrible. They treat you like a fast food customer. I hope someone else reads this so they don’t go through the same thing. I’m going to tell my dentist to stop referring people here too.

Referred to Dr. Ng by my dentist, Dr. Hariri-​Vijeh. His office is not new, but it is clean and spacious. The assistants working there are all efficient and pleasant, and you are in and out of there fairly quickly, compared to similar situations. Dr. Ng has a clear, straightforward style, gives simple instructions and lets you know you have responded well to his directions. He very quickly had my ailing molar out and stitched up and gauzed with ease. No fuss, no pain, no nagging. Just the facts and the job done neatly. Thank you, Doctor Ng!

I was referred to Dr. Ng by my dentist. I needed to have an extraction, a bone graft in the hole, and two screws implanted into my jaw for later crowns. I was scared, of course. Dr. Ng’s office staff called me twice before my appointment to make sure that I understood the costs and my insurance plan. I thought that was excellent!
On the day of the appointment, I filled out the paperwork, had a surround-​type of x-​ray, and watched a video about implants to be sure I was fully informed. I had other choices but this seems like the best way to go for the long term result. Dr. Ng was very friendly, professional, thorough, and gave me plenty of opportunities to ask questions. He showed me the x-​ray and went over what he saw with me. I really like him and his entire staff! I believe I am in good hands there.
Yesterday I had the procedure done. It was an ordeal – how could it not be? But I am strong and courageous, and I knew if I just stay open to the experience and breathe, it would soon be over. All through the procedure, Dr. Ng and his young assistant worked as equals. She played an important role as well and was very professional and confident. I was very impressed. He kept saying, «Excellent,» and «Perfect!» which gave me more confidence.
Dr. Ng gave me prescriptions for ibuprofen, a painkiller, and an antibiotic. They gave me a bottle of medicated mouth rinse to use twice a day. They gave me a fully detailed bill for my health savings account, and an appointment for a checkup in a week.
Dr. Ng called me at home at 8 pm to make sure I’m alright. I live alone. I was very impressed with that, too! He told me to take the pain meds NOW! I had been holding off thinking I might not need any. He told me that I would be quite swollen in the morning. The swelling is not as bad as I thought it might be. I did use ice packs a couple of times after I got home.
Overall, I think Dr. Ng’s service is excellent! I am most happy that I was sent there.

I was referred to Dr. Ng by my dentist, as I needed a tooth extracted and an implant to replace that tooth. I was able to quickly make a consultation appointment with Dr. Ng, and during that visit he explained the procedure and my options. Granted, the office was not decorated with soft colors and warm wall hangings, but the office was clean and very professional.
My visit to have the tooth extracted and the graft and screw implanted took only one hour. I experienced no more discomfort than I expected (novocaine injection and some grinding) and was given prescriptions for pain-​killers and antibiotics. No surprises nor problems, the procedure and recovery exceeded my expectations.
The front office was polite and professional. Given my level of anxiety, I don’t know if a cheerful demeanor by the receptionist would have been welcome. They were very understanding and patient, as I did not have all my insurance and HSA information in order.
Each persons medical experience and recovery will be different. Maybe I was lucky. But Dr. Ng was very professional and, in my case, very capable. His confidence during the consultation helped alleviate some of my anxiety before the procedure. In all, his «bedside manner» suited me. I recommend Dr. Ng and his office for oral surgery.

I was referred by my dentist to come here. I had an appointment for one o’clock. The front door was locked. Called the office and asked if they were open. They came out ten minutes later and I can smell chinese food so I guess they were all eating in the back.
I sat down in the chair and was shown a videotape (yes videotape) of the history of teeth on a nine inch screen ratty t.v. I started feeling sqeamish so I pulled up the Unilocal reviews on this place. Glad I did. Theodore Ng seemed nice enough but I didn’t have a good feeling so I scrammed out of there. So x-​rays and a 5 minute consultation costed me $ 240 dollars. fleeced again.
I think not.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I went to Dr. Ng to get my 4 wisdom teeth extracted. The injections of novocaine were painful, as was the actual tooth extraction. I thought it would take a few days to recover, but it took a full two weeks. Immediately after I had the usual swelling but I was in constant pain and was laying down for days with an excruciating headache and jaw pain. Dr. Ng prescribed Amoxycillin as the antibiotic and ibuprofen and vicodin for the pain. That night after, I ended up throwing up multiple times due to the amoxycillin and Dr. Ng advised continuing the medication if I got better! I was unable to eat anything besides apple sauce and liquid for two weeks and ended up losing weight. I had to endure the pain for the two weeks too, and it only subsided after the first week. Even two months later I went to my dentist and when she inspected my teeth, she wanted to know who performed the extraction because I STILL had stitches in my gums since they had not fully healed. I would never go to Dr. Ng again.

I went to Dr. Ng for a wisdom tooth extraction, the surgery itself was very fast, but the aftermath was PAINFUL!!! The day after my extraction, I couldn’t open my mouth, it was over a long weekend, so I called Dr. Ng, he suspected me to have an infection so he put me on antibiotic. After the weekend I went back and he told me I had a hematoma, didn’t say why. I couldn’t open my mouth for the next 2 weeks (couldn’t eat, couldn’t bite, couldn’t brush the inside of my teeth, couldn’t talk normally), so I called him back. He finally hinted that he caused it by breaking one of my blood vessels during the numbing process.
I was going to let this go, then last week I received a bill from their office, I called and found out they’ve originally quoted me on a wrong insurance coverage, they tell me the insurance agent didn’t tell them the right coverage percentage… WHATEVER!!!
Now after all the pain in the last month, I have to pay them extra… I don’t know if I can file a claim against him… I guess not since I probably signed all the waivers to release him from any liability… but hey, here to let you know about my experience, you make the decision…

Had a wisdom tooth extracted. The Novocaine and numbing process took longer. He pulled that tooth out in about a second. He had to show me the tooth because he could tell that I didn’t believe him when he said we were finished.
An astonishingly fast experience, given my past history of dental work (three root canals).

I was referred to Dr. Ng a couple years ago because I had some pain around my un-​erupted wisdom tooth. Turns out it was cystic and I had to get it removed. Since I work down in South Bay, I wanted to make as few treks up to Oakland as possible, and they worked around my schedule and got me in for a consultation and extraction right quick. The receptionists were also the hygienists, and they were quick, friendly, and also Cal students. Smart folks.
Dr. Ng answered all my silly questions and even let me see my cystic nasty wisdom tooth afterward. The extraction itself was smooth, swift, and painless (I was awake — it was an odd feeling having your gum cut open and an entire tooth yanked out. But it was majorly bothering me so I was glad to say goodbye to the little guy). He definitely knew what he was doing, he even gave me some free advice about another dental procedure I had been considering getting done.
If I ever needed a piece o’ ‘Oral/​Maxillofacial Surgery’ again, I would not hesitate to go to Dr. Ng.

So I was referred here by my orthodontist to have teeth extracted. I called to make an appt for a consulation and you know how they first impressions mean alot. uh yea. The receptionist was in a hurry, very «cold», she wanted to schedule me for the teeth extractions right away! I need to have 4 teeth plus my 4 wisdom teeth out, I need some sort of consultation, I mean not only do I need to know money wise but I need to know what options do I have other than being put to sleep. She seemed hesitant. Anywho, I went to my consultation. the receptionist at check in was the same as on the phone… very cold, avodiing eye contact, fill this fill that. The other receptionist was surfing the web and on Yahoo. The whole place is very sterile. No warm pictures, no fish tanks… the room itself is white, chair in the middle, little table with a very small tv (they show you a VCR video of a summary of tooth extractions), to the right is a small counter space and nothing else. Very sterile I just kept thinking that. It helps when it has a cozy feel, it makes you feel less nervous. Well Dr. Ng came in, he was somewhat nice, very helpful in describing everything. I asked if it would hurt he said «well you have a nose ring so you’re used to pain» uh. what does that have to do with teeth extractions? He used a metal thingy (what is that called? lol) to inspect my mouth and then he opened the wrapper and put it back in there and sealed it and placed it on the counter. I kept thinking I really hope that’s going to the autoclave… and not back in the drawer. To make my appt for the actual extractions I was feeling very iffy… I still am to this day. The receptionist rattled off my cost and she pushed a paper at me and kept saying ok? ok? I’m like no I need you to please explain to me what my costs will be… my insurance was almost maxed out. anyway she did this huge sigh and snatched the paper back and rattled everything off again. I said sorry but look let me ask you the questions and just tell me the answers… phone was not ringing, no other patients were around and again the other receptionist was on the internet. Needless to say I do not want to go back here. I was recommended to his office by my ortho which is the greatest ever so I’m thinking he’s not going to refer me to a bad place. But I can’t shake off the vibe I get. Also, I’m not sure if anyone has talked to the ortho regarding this place. Guess I’ll have to be the first one. My appt is coming up so I will review after that.
