Solid vietnamese, and added an extra star for delivery to Alameda. We had the spring rolls, which were very large, the lemongrass chicken, which was quite tasty, and the vegetable noodle sauce, which was full of good veggies.

I love the food from Mac Khai. I’m leaving a star off because I can’t order delivery through Eat24 anymore. It now says they do not deliver to my address. I normally get 3 item ph and beef rice porridge with different appetizers. I also get the fresh lemonade because it goes well with the ph. The service has also been wonderful. I always had the same delivery guy and he made me smile every time he delivered my food. Please deliver to Alameda again

I just got my order wrong ask to replace it and after already being late came with the wrong order. Asked them to replace it and they were rather rude. I would never… Ever order from this place just because of there late service and bad policies over satisfying there customer 1stars for you buddy: p

Delivery order on a lazy, rainy Saturday and we were impressed. Ordered spring rolls, vermicelli salad and orange chicken. Perfect balance of fried and fresh. The rice was missing but we were very happy with it all so I’m not taking away a star.

I really loved the salmon and garlic noodles dish. The salmon was flavored differently than I am used too but once I got used to that I loved it. It will be a challenge for me to try something else because it was so good. My wife had the vegetarian noodle soup and I liked that too. Awesome mushrooms. Rice noodles too so it’s glueten free. The service was great and you can tell its family friendly.

I’ve ordered delivery from this place multiple times and ate at their restaurant once. One time they took over an hour being extremely late for a delivery and their delivery guy was awful, but I’ll let that one-off slide for this review. All of our other experiences have been delightful! Their calamari is on point and so delicious with the onions, bell peppers, and jalapeño! That is probably our favorite item there. Their phở is pretty good. If your appetite is not too huge, they even have kids’ phở! They’ve got a great variety of Vietnamese food. I ordered porridge and canh chua from them while I was home sick once, and it just made my sick day. Yum!

I’m going to be perfectly honest, I’ve eaten here more times I can care to admit. I’ve had multiple noodle soups, rice porridge, and the crab & asparagus soup. I’ve eaten the pepper wings(soooo flavorful), the crepes, the papaya AND the lotus salad. I have eaten every one of their rolls. I’ve had their crab fried rice(real crab!), vermicelli and rice plates, garlic noodles, and orange beef and chicken(they serve the sauce on the side, so the meat doesn’t get soggy and each bite has a nice crunch). I’ve even had their smoothies, which are sooo sweet and delicious. I prefer mango. I’ve also ordered delivery, which they do very well. $ 20 minimum and no delivery fee. My point being? Mac Khai is just too yummy, I can’t deal with it. I’ve yet to try a dish I didn’t enjoy here!

Was pretty stoked to find a cheap delivery phở place in Oakland. Everything arrived very fast and tasted pretty good! …until the next morning. Yes folks, my partner and I both relieved a mild case of food poisoning. Nausea kept me up all night until I threw it all up the next morning. It hit my parter later in the day, unfortunately. This phở will haunt me! Never never again. Do not go!!!

Clean restaurant, staff is friendly, menu is easy to read, follow and understand… Food, to be specifically the Bún bò Hu(spicy rice noodle soup with beef and pork), was just ok. The broth and overall bowl of noodles didn’t knock my socks off but the pieces of brisket was good and tender. Broth can make or break a bowl of noodles… First impressions were a little bland and relied on the chili oil to give it its flavor and spice. Didn’t love it or hate it. They do offer free delivery though!

I love this place! I always order from Eat 24. Delivery is quick too. My favorite things to order are the vegetarian spring rolls, spicy vegetarian soup with noodles, imperial rolls, real crab fried rice(lots of big crab chunks) and the crispy noodles. I have tried other items from the menu and haven’t had anything I disliked. The fresh coconut water is so refreshing and has big chunks of coconut meat in it. I order from her at least once or twice a month I wish I could order that many time a week! =) Everything is fresh, delicious and the potions are perfect.

For a Vietnamese restaurant, this is one of the dullest restaurants I have ever dined in. There isn’t much of a traditional décor, the interior is very bland and the place is somewhat crumbling. And that is the way I like to dine! But don’t let one of many aforementioned flaws deter many of you from dining here. The place is decent for a Vietnamese restaurant near Oakland Chinatown. For dinner, I ordered a three-item rice plate. For $ 8.00, I get a heaping scoop of steamed white rice, choice of meat(I took the grilled beef) and two other sides, in which I took shredded pork and egg rolls. For the price and from a high-volume eater, this is a feast. The grilled beef is very tender and grilled to perfection. The egg rolls are pretty good, despite having better from elsewhere. I also get a free bowl of soup with my meal. Again this is not the most glamorous I have ever dined. But nevertheless, this is «just» a good restaurant. The staffs were very nice and assisted my needs when needed!

Fresh phở. Not oily or dirty tasting like some phở places I’ve been to. There’s rarely ever anyone in this restaurant but from what I can tell they’re always cooking and mainly do deliveries. My Thai ice tea tastes perfect and the salmon wrap was fresh. I like coming here once in awhile.

The restaurant is categorized under Vietnamese, but I see a few dishes on the menu that are common in Chinese cuisine. The taste and quality of food is okay, but there are far better options in the Chinatown area. I’d recommend this place if you’re short on time because the service is quick, and it’s one of the few restaurants that deliver to businesses in the area.

Mac Khai, you outdid yourself! I was looking for a place in oakland that delivers on a Sunday(not a lot unfortunately) and ran across this spot. It got mediocre reviews, so I was a little hesitant. I have food allergies, but the menu was quiet descriptive with all their ingredients. Once I put my order in, they gave me a call to confirm my order and it was at my doorstep within 35 minutes!!!(guaranteed 45 – 60 min) I got the SAMPLERROLLS, they were delicious and the portions were HUGE. I also ordered peanut sauce instead of fish sauce, and my order was perfect. The best peanut sauce I’ve ever had. I also got the 5ITEMRICEPLATE, the salad was so fresh, a great portion of rice and the meat was tender and the flavor was impressive.(Grilled chicken, grilled beef, prawns, pork chop and extraaaa prawns) The delivery guy was so cheerful and sweet! I would give this place… (1) Amazing customer service (2) Fast delivery (3) Delicious food (4) Menu options for Vegans and Celiacs …4 stars! Can’t wait to order again!

Really enjoyed delivery via Eat24: *super fast delivery, 35 mins *loved their salads, ask for all the dressing on the side and then use sparsely *great porridge, plenty of chicken and fried garlic, but salty from the fish sauce, would skip next time or ask for less sodium *nice tightly wrapped grilled salmon rolls *chicken phở was acceptable All in all really great food and all delivered hot, fresh and in a timely manner!

I drive pass this place every morning after taking the Broadway exit(then make a right!) to get to work… first time trying this place with some coworkers and will return again. YUM! This place is clean, reasonably priced, with a wide range of familiar vietnamese dishes such as vermicelli bun, phở, rice plates, etc. The items that make this place stand out are the awesome salt/jalapeño chicken wings… nicely fried, with a sweet, salty, spice, with wonderful flavors tossed with bell peppers, onions and jalapeño slices. I can honestly say the BEST of all the asian restaurants in the area and a definite hit at our table of 4! We all said we’d order the wings, some rice and forget everything else on our next visit! Now let’s talk about beef stew phở! I’d have to say Mac Khai has one of the best tasting beef stews in Oakland! Generous portion of tender meat, tendon, carrots in a rich broth topped with onions, cilantro. and accompanied with egg noodle. it was that good! Coworkers ordered the bun and rice plate with grilled meat… they were wowed by the portion and well marinated beef. Place is quiet and on the edge of chinatown… a place that will get my repeat business and definitely made us wanting more! See you soon!

Mac Khai offers up some affordable Vietnamese take out. You can even order online through their Unilocal page. I had the chicken & vegetables lunch special with coconut rice($ 6.95) + a pineapple smoothie with boba($ 3.50). At 1pm, this place was empty. I think I spent less than a minute inside– I was handed my food and left. Boom. Easy. The chicken & vegetables were fresh and steamed, so no grease. However, the coconut rice was clearly old. It was even broken up into sections as though it had been scooped out of a cold pan. Kind of a bummer. I would give them another try and eat-in, so that I would have fresh food. For take-out, I’ll probably pass. They have a lot of interesting items on their menu(e.g., frog curry). Parking is a lil bit of a nightmare. Mac Khai is right by the freeway off Broadway at the bottom of Chinatown. Hint: you’ll probably have to cross Broadway and park by the Oakland Police Dept. to find a spot.
