$ 7 for a watch battery and the owners were very friendly. He even let me come in when he wasn’t supposed to be open, but happened to be in doing some work. He told me what battery he thought my watch needed and warned me that one of the watches I brought in may cost a bit more, but he would not charge exceeding that amount. I will definitely be back!
Parking was a bit tricky to find, though.

The lady that works there is super nice! He put my watch back together in less than 20 minutes and even helped me set the date on it when i told him i didn’t know how :)

I was in a hurry to augment my engagement ring and pass it on to my future daughter-​in-​law. I called Zales where it was bought and was informed it would take 2 – 3 weeks for it to be ready. No way it would make it before Christmas. I then found this store, conveniently located in downtown Oakland close to my office. I dropped the ring at lunch time and picked it up after work. The quality of service was very high. The gentleman not only augmented the ring but also cleaned it better than Zales. He also tested the diamond in front of me to assure his honesty. I am very pleased to say that today my son proposed to his sweetheart and she said yes. Priceless

I went to Kim’s Watches today after visiting one of their competitors, Grand Jewelry, to get an estimate on repair of a charm bracelet my mother gave me a very long time ago. I had not worn it very often because the charms (sterling silver) often came lose from the bracelet. Also, the clasp was hard to work by myself. From the moment I entered the shop, I felt that both Mr. Kim and his son were friendly and helpful. The information I received from the competitor had been useful, but his manner not as warm. I now see why Kim’s deserves so many consistent 5 star ratings. Not only was his solution to the charm issue both solid and cost-​effective (only about ¹⁄₁₀ of what the competitor estimated), he gave me additional insight about how to buy new charms for my bracelet and issues to look out for. I need to buy a solid gold connector for another piece of jewelry I now intend to where regularly. I will go only to Kim’s for this.
BTW, HE IS CURRENTLY HAVING A WATCH SALE! I RECEIVED A CARD FROM HIM FOR 30% OFF AND DUE TO THE HOLIDAYS HE IS OFFERING 10% OFF. WITH THE CARD THAT MAKES A TOTAL OF 40% OFF!!! I don’t wear watches but will be making the card available to the first family member or friend who plans to buy one.

Amazing! I came to them with my favorite watch that has a kooky alternating red and white dot every second. The movement was dead. I went to Otto Frie (80 billion watch parts, I would assume the biggest in the world) in Oakland and they fixed me up with a replacement movement capable to doing this kooky little thing. (In stock, what are the chances?) I brough it to Kim’s to get installed. — However, to get this replacement to work, he had to pull apart and reassemble bits an pieces of both movements. He explained the complication. It took about a week… and when all this extra headache was done he kept the price the same … $ 40. Where are the Gold Stars? Pricing «moderate» because the fee was excellent. It is a higher end store with expensive stuff.

Mr Chang, the proprietor, fulfills all my jewelry needs. He has custom made me a jade pendant and ring, sized my rings & changed my watch batteries. His workmanship is truly exceptional, and his prices very reasonable. However, his main business is selling high end watches/​pens. I highly recommend this nice man. And I forgot to mention this. He will bargain a bit.

Came by to have a quick ring resizing done. (Had it resized bigger elsewhere for surprise, but was a bit big.)
Kim came through. Great service. Minus one star because it wasnt quite as perfect a job as the other sizing job. But was faster and much less expensive. I would go back, certianly for watch work. Really nice people here that care about what they do.

Battery was replaced while I waited — took 5 minutes and was only $ 10! I paid nearly $ 35 last time I had the battery changed and had to leave it overnight. This place did a great job and was super convenient.

Excellent and friendly service. Completed battery replacement and fixed a watch issue quickly. Cost 7 – 8 times less than what a kiosk at Valley Fair mall quoted.

I’ll go to Kim’s for all of my new watches. I can order out of a catalog if I don’t see the exact watch I like, and I trust Kim’s with any kind of repair on any watch. The service is expert. This is a true neighborhood business where they treat you with open kindness and make you feel at home. Their watch selections cover all of my favorites: Citizen, Seiko, Bulova; Tissot; and they’ve chosen watches that they know actually resonate with people; this is a very down to earth home for great service and beautiful watches.

I had some precious jewelry that needed repaired and decided to come here after reading the Unilocal reviews. Glad I did! They called me back the next day to let me know I could pick up my jewelry. So fast! I picked it up and was so happy to see these pieces of jewelry all fixed up, sized, cleaned. they looked gorgeous. I could not be happier with the service I received from everyone who works at Kim’s Watches & Jewelry. You also cannot beat the price! The man who repaired my jewelry also gave me a coupon to come back for a watch w/​a percentage off. Very kind.

Just like all the reviews here, service was outstanding, and customer service was great. Very nice gentlemen that helped me and had my watch done in under 5 minutes. Pricing was very reasonable as well.

$ 7 to replace battery watches! I came here, brought two watches to have their batteries replaced, sat down on the little stool to read my book, and they were done within 10 – 15 minutes, and I walked out happy as a clam! Definitely coming back here! The staff is friendly as well.

I was thrilled with the service I got here at Kim’s. Just got my watch battery replaced and a link bracelet resized, but I could tell they knew what they were doing. Omega watches are a bit tricky, but these guys were experts. Top notch customer service.

This place is great! The service was stellar. They were so nice and so sweet. I brought in a watch that needed repair because it had lost a pin, and he did such a great job fixing it. He actually made a pin from scratch because the watch needed a special kind of pin that they didn’t have. It looks great and I am so happy to have a wearable watch again!
They also cleaned several pieces of silver jewelery for me. The price for everything was GREAT and can’t be beat! They clean and polish jewelery so if you have any nice silver pieces that need to be restored to their original glory, I would definitely recommend going here.
5 star customer service all the way!
