I am a professional dancer and dance teacher so I am always looking for ways to expand my body knowledge. I have many years of ballet training along with having studied many other forms of dance. Intuitive Dance is a dance class for everyone whether a body identifies as a dancer or not. Stefana inspires each class with encouragement to delve into one’s own individual and collective movement journey. She creates a safe, welcoming, and gentle space for body discovery and her facilitation of movement is nothing short of incredible. Through this series I have explored and expanded my own unique movement language which is not only invaluable as a dancer but as a mover in life. I have taken this series twice already and I recommend it to anyone who wants to explore their own dancer within and a deeper listening of the body.

I have been going to dance studios and dance events for many years in Oakland, Berkeley, and Marin County, and nowhere have I experienced a more satisfying, electric, and fun experience than with Stefana Serafina. She not only transports you on an amazing journey exploring your own intuitive desires, she is a delight to watch as she dances in a most extraordinary and rhythmical way. The honesty, wisdom, and sincerity that she brings to the practice are beyond anything I have ever seen before. Most other dance teachers give you a sprinkle here and there and turn you loose to dance on your own. Stefana is right there with you for the entire class; giving you insights into yourself you never knew were there. You will learn to tap into your own intuition for the guidance and energy that has always been there, yet unavailable to most people. This is a must for anyone who loves to dance. Dancing from your own intuition unlocks the door to a fuller, expansive, and satisfying phenomenon.

There are certain people in life that were meant to dance. We’re all meant to dance. But some people are meant to TRULY dance. To inspire though movement. To encourage others-to-inspire-others through their movements. And to truly teach the world about all of the unsaid through wild uninhibited dance. Stefana is one of those people. I have taken a hooping class with her in the past — and recently I have been attending her Taking Back the Body Workshop. I felt compelled to take the workshop after a recent revelation. A revelation in which I realized that we truly are our hardest judges. If we don’t practice self compassion and self love — it makes life that much more difficult. Successful relationships and deep feelings of fulfillment are rooted in self acceptance. That self love — can only be explored once we truly analyze the social constructs which shape our own rigid views of ourselves. Stefana’s workshops allows this crucial dialogue to unfold in graceful swoops. She creates a safe space for awe-inspiring women to share their experiences and thoughts about the expectations we and society create. Expectations which inhibit creativity, freedom, and which prevent us from accepting the beauty and power which we all possess. Stefana breathes life into these intimate conversations and encourages participants to sit, breathe, talk, and most importantly dance through these challenging subjects. The work that she does is transforming. It’s empowering. «It’s woman-ful.» Trust.
