Wine & booze always good.
Place is a bit small, and there was a great turn out. Saw familiar faces and met new people. Great food, booze, people — what more could you ask for?!
I am not sure if I would use Farmigo, but I appreciate the concept.

This was my FIRST event as Unilocal Elite and it was a super good time.
I loved the concept that they were introducing us to — Farmigo’s fresh from the farmers to the consumers where one gets to go and pick their veggies and fruits themselves instead of being «surprised by a box» — however, I’m not sure whether the delivery locations and times are as convenient as the other service alternative.
The space was somewhat small and intimate but it worked and it was interesting with all the savory bits in one room and the sweets in another (amidst the judo demos)
I loved the food available though — my hands down favorite was Sabor de Brasil’s cheese balls… these are such a novelty to me. The texture was fun and doughy with a slight umph when you bite in. With flavors like gruyère and caramelized onions — I had to refrain from being a glutton and going back for seconds and thirds.
The Muffins from Muffin Revolution were also very interesting. Matcha Green Tea with Red Beans was my favorite… some of the others were a bit too surprising for me. (ie. salmon? in my muffin? my tastebuds were too confuddled)
The mini ginger cupcakes with vanilla cream cheese frosting and candied orange peel were AMAZING though. YUMM.
The Living Apothecary had some delightfully refreshing drinks — pear ginger was one… basil something was the other.
Truly delightful! And such a convenient location!

LAUNCH PARTY
What a way to end summer, start the fall off with a Party. Farmigo launch party, super nice. Was able to try out the different fresh produce grown locally. Tamale lady has some great tamales. will spread the word about the Farmigo community…

We packed our booties into Kitchener for an intimate face-​to-​face with local vendors. We arrived after 7:15pm, too late to claim a goodie bag at my first Unilocal Elite event. (Queue heart-​wrenching music) However, the delicious samples of food and beer quickly helped me forget my sorrows.
* Delicious tamales by Tina Ramos of Tina Tamale. YUM! Definitely comfort food, in my book.
* Empanadas with different fillings — chicken, beef, cheese. Buttery flaky crust. Judicious use of herbs and spices. Perfect small bite with that Linden Street beer!
* Flavor and nutrient packed muffins from Muffin Revolution. I tried Home for the Holidays and El Nacho Verde. I just can’t get over the fact that these are HEALTHY. So frickin’ delicious. And moist! With perfect crumb structure! Alton Brown (the health-​conscious on a diet version) would be proud.
* Mini ginger cupcakes with vanilla cream cheese frosting and candied orange peel from Emily H. of Picnic Bakery. Wow. This is VEGAN? Like, no butter, no eggs? Can’t even tell. Last time I made a cake and left out the eggs — EVERYONE could tell!
Great location — it was super easy to get here using BART and the Broadway Shuttle.

Loved this event so much! It was a great eye opener to all the local vendors there are out there. The deeeeelicious samples didn’t hurt either. This was a great reminder why East Bay Unilocal events pretty much pWn everyone else’s Unilocal events.
I grabbed business cards from pretty much everyone because I want to buy all their stuff. Loved the Argentine empanadas, as well as the tamales from Tina! She’s such a fascinating business owner, and I’m pretty sure my stomach would love to support her business going forward.

Great vendors! My faves were the vegan tamales (Tina Tamales) and the Brazilian cheese balls. Mmmmmm. Good beer to wash them down provided by Linden Street Brewery. Savory muffins were a treat but the vegan cupcakes and cookies were rockin! If only I knew all of the vendor’s names. I wish there’s been a brochure provided with all of the vendors and when their products would be available on Farmigo. I checked the website and only saw Tina’s Tamales.
It was a «kick» to eat the mini treats and watch some martial arts performance but I also wish more space/​seating was available for those folks over…40. Maybe there were 4 of us? ;-)

My wife & I were excited for the Farmigo Launch Party. While we have used fresh produce delivery companies in the past, the idea of having being able to completely customize the type and quantities of organic produce is a very exciting idea, one long overdue.
The goodie-​bag that we received at the door was filled with wonderful surprises. There was a basket of strawberries (3 different varieties, we came out find out later), a bottle of cold brew coffee from Milton and Small, and a treat from Chunky Pig Products. One of us received a bag of candied bacon caramel corn, while the other received 2 dark chocolate & candied bacon cookies. Good thing we are not vegetarians!
There were several vendors at this event, but my favorites were:
* The pork and cheese tamales from Tina Timale. The pork ones were on the spicy side, while the cheese ones with the verde salsa were more mild.
* The probiotic drinks from The Living Apothecary. They offered 3 different drinks to sample, and we loved them all so much, we bought one bottle of each.
* The Farmigo representatives, especially Ricky from Yerena Farms in Watsonville. Even though the venue was really crowded, he took the time to answer all our questions and give us a lesson in the different varieties of fruits and vegetables his farm offers.
Overall, this was a wonderful party. Kudos to Nique and the Kitchener staff on putting on such a great event!

Adding to some of the other reviews, this was also my first ‘official’ Unilocal!event — and it’s true, who doesn’t like a little free food & drink — especially Linden St. on tap! I just barely made it in time to snatch the last Goodie Bag and I’m glad I did. The raspberries were so fresh and tasty that they barely made it into my late-​night salad before they were gone.
I love being exposed to small and upcoming vendors. The Peppermint Pandas were my favorite. I’m not vegan and don’t understand how it’s possible to bake without eggs and cream, but these were oh-​so-​good.
And of course, FARMIGO! After I got home and liked all the various vendors on FB, I wanted to go online and make my first order for pick-​up next week, but the website only had me provide my email address, which I already provided at the event :(At any rate, I am definitely going to use Farmigo and can’t for the service to be up and running! Unlike other CSA’s, you can pick the items you want and aren’t required to order every week. For a small household, I need that flexibility. Again, can’t wait to make and pick-​up my first order. It’s almost apple and permission season!

Woohoo! Who doesn’t like free food and drinks! Especially the night before school starts (; My first Elite party and I definitely want to come back out for more!
I really enjoyed the two venues. Soja, a yoga and martial arts studio with the Kitchener. Yum yum food. In the Kitchener we had the delicious, warm, melt in your mouth tamales, a kick in the ice coffee, fresh hot cheese rolls, delicious tonic/​elixir water, hot out of the oven empanadas, and your two buck chucks. Along with the big show of the night, the Farmigo! Definitely loved the idea of fresh fruit and that gets delivered weekly straight to your house! Sucks that I am too broke for that):
Soja had all the wonderful entertainment of martial arts in action! Along with all the yummy desserts. Tasty muffins, sweet and tangy cupcakes, and tasty hummus and salsa!
This event definitely show cased the good local stuff we have here on the East Bay. Most of them I have never heard of. What a good way of promoting locals to the people!
I just wished I mingled more to meet more people): Next time!
Btw. It was such a good venue to hold it at, easy parking!

This is exactly the kind of Elite event you should take a +1 to, so they can experience Unilocal at its best — amazing vendor offerings, friendly people, great location.
I love Unilocal Elite events that are more intimate — granted it was still a bit crowded inside, but not so much that you couldn’t talk to people or get enough food to try. I brought one of my best friends and without going back for seconds or thirds, we were so full we didn’t even have to go out to dinner after.
I’m not much of a drinker anymore, but who could be mad at an event with free wine and beer? And water nearby for those who can’t imbibe :)

Farmigo brings the farmer’s market to you. Instead of searching for the items at your local farmer’s market, you get to pick and choose and they put them together in a CSA box for you to pick up at this location.
This event brought quite a crowd because it was open to the public as well the place was packed with wall to wall people. There were two rooms: one with the farm fresh savory items and the other had mostly sweet items with the exception of some dips.
Vendors were super helpful and friendly. I couldn’t tell you who I liked the most since they were all good. The goodie bag was also packed with fresh fruit, cold coffee and popcorn. I can’t wait to try all of the items in the bag.
If I lived closer, I would definitely take advantage of this. CSA boxes are the new thing and it’s nice to see people support local organic foods. Plus, the creator of Farmigo happens to know a mutual friend of mine. I didn’t know until I saw her at the door. Great idea, Sophie! Support it.

September was already a helluva month for Unilocal events in the East Bay but the month wasn’t over yet, so how about 1 more? The Farmigo Launch Party @ Kitchener Oakland was almost microscopic compared to the Beerwalk of a couple weeks prior yet was still stuffed with bountiful goodness.
Farmigo showcased their concept of making farmer’s market produce more easily accessible, which is pretty cool. Also this YEE featured vendors sharing some of their really unique & sensational wares. For me, most memorable mentions are:
* Muffin Revolution’s «My Swine Valentine,» a bacon, chocolate & cherries muffin
* Picnic Bakery’s divine little Peppermint Pandas
* Tina Tamale’s delicious Chicken Tamales slathered in a killer tomatillo sauce
* Milton & Small’s brutally strong but super smooth dark roast coffee
* Javi’s incredible Argentine Empanadas
Much appreciation to Kitchener, Farmigo & all the vendors. &, of course, much thanks to our hard working East Bay CM, Nique F., for churning out 1 more event in a month that has already been extremely eventful.

For an unabashed lover of all things produce, the debut of Farmigo at Oakland’s Kitchener’s is best described as veggie porn. The table of colorful and artfully-​arranged clusters of squashes, lettuces, beans and more was an eyeful of vitamin C-​filled thrills. Even better, as explained by the friendly Farmigo reps — you can have it all for yourself! The ease of selecting, ordering and pickup of their farmers’ market quality foods was explained with aplomb (that’d be a pun were it spoken) — but you can find out for yourself at

Beyond the greens was a bevy of showcases for tasty goods. Muffin Revolution, aptly named, gave a savory spin to a familiar dessert, with offerings like their Italian Stallions featuring kale pesto. Tasty tamales from Tina’s from the delightful *actual* Tina. Plus spelt pita, and empanadas from heaven courtesy of Javi’s. But, as they say on the Price is Right — «but wait, there’s more!» — a goodie bag from our hostess/​emcee Nique with beautiful berries, cold brew coffee samples, and bacony wonderful caramel popcorn from Chunky Pig.
It was a treat to be served food that demonstrated how food good for you can also taste mighty good. Props to our host Kitchener, all the vendors and Nique and Unilocal for another insight of local delights.

2012 The Year Of Human Nature, Good Times and The Good Life!!!

My first Elite event and it was SO much fun! Loved the Mitch & Sons cold brewed horchata latte. Loved the goodie bag (ate the ENTIRE bag of Chunky Canadian Bacon Caramel pop corn). It was awesome to finally meet Nique in person! The muffins were superb. Loved it all.
Thanks Unilocal for a fun party! Farmigo, welcome, welcome!

Sustainable food practices with yummy bites to sample? Can’t go wrong with that!
I really enjoyed this event and learned a lot from the vendors. Many of them were conscious of the types of ingredients they used (i.e. amount of starch, sugar, etc.). I did not realize how progressive Farmigo was. It is an indoors farmer’s market that will float around to different locations and you can even place an order with them and come pick up your produce.
As far as the samples… I must say my absolute favorites were Tina Tamale and Yerena Farms. Tina Tamales sold me on her vegan and veggie options– I cannot wait to place an order with her… her cheese and verde tamale was delicious!
Yerena Farms have some of the most sustainable and organic farming practices– they do not spray any type of pesticide on their products and it is a family run farm that has been around for years. The brothers do most of the farmers markets and product marketing and Ricky was especially helpful explaining the different types of blackberries and raspberries. I didn’t realize there were so many varietals! He also introduced me to a great vegtable called yacon, which originates from Peru and is good for digestions and lowering cholesterol.
Overall, great event! Thanks Nique! Good food, good company, passionate vendors!

My first Unilocal event as an Elite. It was wonderful! Farmigo = amazing idea and Kitchener = perfect place for the launch party.
Amazing food, good drinks, friendly vendors, and great goodie bags!

East Bay Elites do it big again. This launch party for Farmigo featured delicious food including the chicken tamales from Tina Tamale, Picnic’s delightful Peppermint Pandas (think mini mint-​flavored whoopie pie) and little Ginger cakes, savory muffins (yes Salmon Run rocks) from Muffin Revolution, complimentary beer from Linden Street Brewery and free wine, and a friendly vibe. And I walked away with a goodie bag including my daughter’s snack of choice, organic strawberries.
Props to Nique for being our hostess with the mostest (digging that wraparound Swatch watch), my DP brother De’Lante for stepping in as my +1 for the evening, and to Minh, my fellow Cal Bear and current med student who became my instant friend in line.
Thank you Unilocal for another awesome evening!

WOW! Almost every vendor we sampled from was outstanding! What a great line up of local businesses. I am sad that Farmigo doesn’t deliver to Hayward… yet.
I was completely blown away by the first thing I tried… the savory pesto muffins from Muffin Revolution. Yes, please may I have your pamphlet and web site? Thank you.
We loved the red salsa from Santipapas, as well as chatting with the chef. We purchased some to bring home.
Javi’s empenadas were sooo good.
Tina’s chicken tamales are covered in the most amazing green sauce.
And the produce. Who knew that one source could offer so many different types of raspberries or strawberries? They were so delicious.
The wines were very good.
I put my name on the list for Farmigo. When they come closer to home, we’ll place an order and eat well.

Yay – my first official Unilocal Elite party! Mr Rinky and I got here early and there were only a few people in line. Chatted briefly with the charming Mike L from Oakland.
Although the two spaces were small:
1) the Kitchener space for the goodie bags, produce, iced teas/​coffees, yummy tamales from the lovely Tina Tamale, beer & wine samples
2) a martial arts space: vegan and regular cupcakes, cookies, savory muffins,
chips and fantastic salsa,
Everything was so well organized; the vendors were super friendly and informative;
the gathering wasn’t a mob scene.
Got to gab a bit with one of my favorite Unilocal buds, Linda M and Mr. M
Compared notes on the food and drink – all good!
Wonderful goodie bags — Unilocal sunglasses, coffee, basket of raspberries,
bacon cookie (which goes to some bacon loving friends), lip balm.
Looking forward to ordering produce from Farmigo.
