Emil’s Burger and Breakfast

I get so exited when it comes to breakfast and they do a good ass breakfast Omg! I love the fact that they can do it for you anytime of the day! Is a small family own business i love it and i strongly support them–

Well I don’t like how when I come in the morning I can’t order anything served from the stove because they haven’t gotten it ready yet. I have to wait a extremely long time but their place is good and I would never eat eggs anywhere else but here. Pricing is reasonable and average and the people are nice and clean.

I loved the jalapeño burger and the honesty. I accidentally left my phone and they returned it as soon as I walked back in. Thank you.

Seriously a good cheap burger. I was leary of the area, clientele and clean but not sterilized appearance of the place but we had bailed off from gridlock on 880 and decided to try something new. Meat is not your highest quality and must have a high fat content, because ours were cooked well done and were still moist and not dry.
I had a mushroom Swiss burger al a cart & the hubbs had ½ lb bacon cheeseburger meal that was seriously HUGE. Top off with fresh lettuce, hand sliced red onion and a sesame seed bun and you’re in for good eats without the price tag. Fries were the thick nearly steak style french fry which we shared and still couldn’t polish off.
Tab + tip $ 19 out the door.

Food is always fresh tasting and made to order. Staff members are all courteous and helpful whenever I come in for a quick bite. Itcs kind of a shame they don’t get more business.
Today I ordered the Teriyaki Burger (#8 on the menu) with a side of fries and a drink. The burger was fresh, the vegetables were crisp, but there wasn’t a lot of teriyaki flavor; they only put sauce on the bottom bun and not on the meat, which was a little disappointing. The fries on the other hand were great, as usual. Hot, crispy, and thick! Very good.

This place is growing on me. I’ve been getting their $ 4.65 breakfast wraps, which taste as good as the price! The place is a little tame looking. No luxury decorating. Important for me is that the service is prompt and friendly. I can get in and out in only a few minutes. The burgers and breakfast food I’ve ordered was ready in a reasonable amount of time and tasted good. Plus this is a local business, not some chain store.

My God! I stopped in here with my sister this morning & I’m VERY pleased. I thought it was pricey but after wrapping my lips around the straw on my milkshake, it was WELL worth it. My sister had the cheeseburger & fries and praised it’s flavor so it’s awesome. I’ll definitely be back in a couple of weeks when I pick up my glasses. Compliments to the chef!

It was a decent burger. Reminded me of a bunch of charbroiled burger shops I used to go to as a kid. Fries to share were HUGE.
Would I go out of my way to come get their burger? No. Would I stop by for a bite if I was at the Bart station headed somewhere? Yes!

When you’re pregnant you just kinda go where the cravings take you. For some reason, my latest craving is for chicken steak fries here at Emil’s. I only ever order chicken steak fries and I didn’t have ONE complaint about this place until today.
The time before this that I bought the fries, I asked for extra meat since I’m diabetic. I can eat as much meat as my heart desires. I didn’t even mind that I was charged about $ 2.50 extra for more chicken. I REALLY wanted the extra meat. It was perfect. When I came by today to order the same exact thing the employee talked to the man making food in the back (presumably the owner of the business?) and came back to me saying that they can’t give me extra meat on my fries. I said that was fine, but I had ordered the same exact thing just a week ago and paid good money for it with no problem. She said she got in TROUBLE for charging me for extra meat last time I ordered it. Seriously? You’re not going to give me some extra cheap ass chicken that I am WILLING to pay a stupid amount extra for? Okay, dude, whatever. It’s your business.
Will I stop coming here? No. Like I said, I am a slave to my very few pregnancy cravings but I’m not recommending this place to anyone else. I’ve never heard of someone being turned down when making a request for more food on their plate– especially when willing to foot the bill for the special request. Also, this time he forgot to put jalapeños on my fries and they were just mediocre. Counter help is nice here. No beef with them.

Great home made burgers, and steak cheese fries. will come back to try other things on the menu.

Maybe I should try other food before I judge them over all but they don’t have what it takes when it came to my salad that’s for sure. The lettuce was old and slightly soggy. The woman with the ombré’d hair wasn’t pleasant at all taking my order, and I feel they shouldn’t let teenagers come in and play their extra loud crazy music while people and families are trying to eat.

Been here a couple of times and the food has always been great. The hot link sausage is awesome and so are the chicken strips. Wait time is average.

what a great place for a good little diner! Right off the Fruitvale Bart station where the mini mall is. If you’re in the area it’s a solid choice for a burger or sandwich without a doubt! The service is decent to friendly, the food comes out in a timely way. This is all one could ask from a joint like this one in an area like this. They also have breakfast which is swell.

Come here about every two weeks, my first stop after getting off BART. Friendly service. Small place but lots of seating. Have outside seating too but is limited to two tables. Long lines at lunch time so there is a little wait but so worth it — GREAT burgers & curly fries! A l’ill gem located right by the Fruitvale BART station.

Simple menu, very reasonable prices. Asian couple that takes obvious pride in providing very good american food! As soon as the cook heard what I was ordering, he quickly got to work, now that’s motivation. I was here for breakfast on a Saturday morning.

I don’t know why I haven’t written a review before for this little East Oakland gem. Stormy last night heading home from work and I did not want to cook. Exited BART at Fruitvale Station and walked across the plaza to Emil’s. I grabbed a burger and fries.
The burger is hefty and I asked for medium and got MEDIUM! Yea!!! Real fresh toppings and red onions. Burgers need red onions IMO. I took a cab home and my fries were still hot and delicious.
This place is also comfortable to sit down and have a meal. I haven’t tried their breakfast due to my work schedule (hint-​hint open at 6:30am) but my sons have tried it and they said they are more satisfied with Emil’s breakfast than Nation’s for about the same price.
They have sandwiches, hot & cold, salads, shakes. Very comparable to Sparky’s when you don’t want to travel to the hills.

Their burgers are SO delicious. I got a Hawaiian burger, made with grilled pineapples, teriyaki sauce on a French roll. It was a bit messy but really tasty. I also grabbed a kid’s burger that will be my go-​to snack when I’m hustling to catch a train or bus.
The place is perfectly located and one of the few places nearby that accepts credit cards.
I don’t like their fries. Really dry so substitute it with their tasty curly fries. Right now they’re short staffed to prepare for a longer than usual wait.

My sister who works around the area told me they’re food was bomb. So today I stopped by and order the cheese curly fries the wait was kinda long because that’s it was only one person who was making the food and one person taking orders over all the food was good and they give you big portion.
