Meant to give these guys another star after they reached out to make things right. I didn’t take them up on their offer, but nice recovery none the less.

The Cuban sandwich was delicious today. I had it in Treasure Island at the Flea market. The waitress was really nice and it took them 2 minutes to serve me.

#holdup is it Ebbett’s Good To GO or Ebbett’s Good To COME bc… Her: «Are you coming or going?» Me: «?» Her: «Are you coming or going?» Me: «???» Oooooohh my boxing gloves — truck lady saw them and was asking if I’d just finished training or was en route to start bc she boxes too. But y’all, everybody knows sandwiches in lunches comes *after* punches in bunches. #whaaat #okrrrr Shout-out to women in sports; double shout-out to women in martial arts. My sandwich was ok.

A sandwich-centric food truck without many gimmicks, just good meat & bread. Definitely better than the generic brick and mortar sandwich options in the FiDi. But just ok compared to those hole-in-the-wall joints you go out of your way for. I’d definitely eat here again if a colleague wanted, but it’s not going to satisfy my Cuban sandwich cravings(compared to versions I’d eat in NYC and Miami). Cuban Sandwich: Great pork, but didn’t feel Cuban enough. The most notable issue was the lack of large pickle slices in favor of a tiny bit of pickle-like relish. The sour vinegary tones are essential to balancing the flavor profile so fatty and salty don’t dominate. Though the pulled pork was a generous portion, the ham and cheese felt quite skimpy and were hard to notice under all that pig. The bread was tasty and firm, though could have been toasted more. There was some sort of tasty creamy sauce, though it could have stood to be more mustardy. It’s a really good pulled pork sandwich, but a bit of a letdown if you’re expecting a nice Cuban sandwich.

Hired them for a private family event. Incredible food! Fabulous service! The friendliest people-would recommend them for every type of gathering! The rice bowls, kale salads, sausages, grilled cheese, Cuban sandwiches — We had it all! Great flavors! There is something for everyone! Gluten free, vegetarian all possible!

When I requested no jam on my sandwich, I was told by the server that they make their sandwiches beforehand, so there’s no customizing your order… you’re stuck with their jams and sauces whether you like them or not. I prefer my sandwiches dry. The server apologized. No suggestions, just an apology.

Fire sandwiches. I don’t know how to explain it. Get extra Sauce on the pork sandwich. The tofu with the Wasabi saice is bomb too. Cool people in that van.

A cute little truck. The cuban was solid, but not the best I’ve ever had. I was super bummed that they were out of both the mac n cheese and the grilled cheese, as both were on my list to try. The harissa chicken was a pretty tasty replacement, but didn’t completely absolve my disappointment at a lack of melty cheese.

Their Asian tofu sandwich is one of the best vegan sandwiches in the United States, and yes I will throw down that gauntlet. The staff is always smiling and friendly, so it makes it all the more better to order the best sandwich in the city from such happy people. Often they’ll give my dog a little bit of pork because they are awesome. So now both my dog and I are unreasonably excited to go to Ebbett’s.

I got the classic Cuban sandwich and it was ridiculously good. An amazing sandwich on Acme bread. Highly recommended!!!

The core Ebbett’s offering, the Cuban Sandwich, is outstanding. They’ve hit a combo of pulled pork, cheese, relish, bits of ham, lettuce and sauce that is superb. You can ask for it in the form of a salad also(Cuban Salad) and they will usually make it, so you can skip the bun. The specials are often great. I’m a consistent customer. That being said, the quality and service is a little variable. I’ve gotten orders missing something, and some days the pork is a bit dried out. The sandwich cost is a tad bit higher than other food trucks. Otherwise this would be a five star review.

DELICIOUS cuban sandwich! I really enjoyed it. That’s all I got, so I can’t speak to any of the other menu options, but that alone is worth checking out this food truck for. YUM!

I was looking for something solid, but«healthy» so I forced myself past all the food trucks filled with deliciously fried goodies and snagged one of Ebbett’s Pork Bowls for $ 10. From their website: Brown rice, black beans, Duroc pulled pork, sliced grape tomatoes, avocado and queso fresco with house-made salsa verde. Nicely presented and delicious to eat. Not greasy and with a nice variety of ingredients.

Ebbett’s tagline is «Admit it, you need a good sandwich.» That was good enough to get me to try a sandwich… I do love a good sandwich and the menu sounded appealing: Cuban, Asian tofu, Steak giardiniera, Grilled cheese or Sausage sandwich. The sandwiches are made with Acme bread. * Cuban sandwich($ 9): Slow roasted Niman Ranch pulled pork, thinly sliced artisan ham, gruyère, jalepeno relish and creamy chipotle aioli on a huge crusty Acme roll. The cold roll was very chewy with hard edges. It was too hard… possibly stale. The pulled pork had some good spices but was rather salty. The cheese wasn’t melted and the ham was sliced super thin. The sandwich really should have been heated. It was plenty big. Hot sandwiches are better than cold ones… and Cuban sandwiches should be hot. I was definitely full afterwards but I didn’t get a good sandwich.

Ebbett’s cuban sandwich — is a serious contender for the top 10. So serious in fact that im going to create a new category — Food Truck Sandwiches. The Cuban sandwich has great bread, good meaty/spicy flavor, interesting texture well sourced pork products and tasty sauce. However Ebett’s does not limit itself to Cuban and one of the more interesting items is the Grilled cheese — with plum chutney — its like PB&J where PB was replaced w/grilled cheese. Considering its next to impossible to f*&(k up a grilled cheese — Ebbetts does make a successful effort to innovate — adding a sweet ingredient to an already yummy food item takes it over the top in the yummy sensibilities dept — so if you have a taste preferences of 6 – 12 year old who just finished a serious match of dodge ball — make sure to try the Grilled Cheese.

Been to this food truck many times on my lunch break. They park on 64th and Hollis in Emeryville on certain Friday’s(Just follow them on Twitter or Google them). I’ve tried pretty much every sandwich they have here and they are all delicious. Get the Cuban and Sea Salt Caramel Brownie you won’t be disappointed!

Ebbett’s truck was one of two that I haven’t had a chance sample in Emeryville. A failed attempt couple of weeks ago when we arrived at 11:45 to our dismay… a long-ass line that weren’t moving, approximately 20 – 30 minute wait in the scorching heat. This time, we arrived at the time of opening at 11:30 on the dot. Yay, we were #2 and 3 in line. We had the Asian tofu sandwich($ 8) and the salted caramel brownie bite($ 1.50). The sandwich was pretty good, stuffed to the gills(as they described it) with thinly-sliced roasted house-marinated Hodo Soy tofu topped with a red and green cabbage, carrot, mint and cilantro slaw in ginger-lime vinaigrette with wasabi aioli on an Acme torpedo roll. I loved the tartness in the slaw and definitely could taste a hint of the wasabi. I did wish that the bread was more crusty because it was a bit soft. And some heat would take the sandwich to another level. It was definitely a sandwich I’ve been craving. The brownie bite was the perfect size to satisfy your chocolate craving. The brownie itself was really rich, and the caramel on top really made the rich cocoa flavor less overwhelming. I get what all the fuss was about. The long line of fans can’t be wrong!

Call a dude from Cuba Cuban, get cred. Call a dude from South Carolina wearing a snooty beret while fighting bulls and waving a Mexican flag Cuban, you’ll look ignorant. Yet, somehow, Ebbett’s does it brilliantly. To be fair: they unabashedly admit their take on the sandwich of all sandwiches is anything but traditional. But they must — it’s bounds apart, reminiscent of Volle Nolle’s take in Boston’s North End. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. And so the breakdown goes: fill a crusty, tender Acme roll with Niman Ranch pulled pork. «Pulled?» the purists cry. Yes, it’s a stretch, but hear us out. Layer ham, Gruyère and jalapeño relish atop the heap, then smear the top with chipotle aioli(Dave’s Fresh Pasta knows!). It’s a bastardization that almost surpasses the original, kinda like Sharktopus. Couple this $ 8 delight with a salted caramel brownie, or a local root beer, and you’ve got a $ 10 lunch. Do all three, and you’ve got a cavity. Sorry, molars. Don’t care if SF has a billion trucks. I’m heading back for this bad boy during my next visit. Plus, they use Square for cards. Righteous!
