Well, right off, this place has acheived mythical proportions in my mind as the site of «best night out of my entire life». I went for a burlesque night — lots of entertainment including the band of a friend of a friend. There was a campfire outside, couches inside, a bar with sangria and other fun stuff, and a stage on which many danced, myself included. The vibe was great, everyone having a good time, everyone dancing. I had maybe 2 cups of sangria and needed not a drop more. I lost my phone, which was the only downside, but it was so worth it. After the show, I kicked on to some clandestine hot tubbing, but that is another story…

all they need is a projector and some grant money and we’re golden.

I went here for a show the other week and it was a good time. I like that I can drink a six pack of cheap beer outside with friends and still be able to hear the music inside. If only it wasn’t in this part of Oakland, I’d give it 5 stars.

Hello Oakland. This place is SICK. After the Art Murmur, my universe led me to find this super sweet art space/living co-op full of drunked hip kids with smiles, a lot of hair, and funky art styles. In 2 hours, I was able to: 1) Cross a semi-sketchy suspension bridge with huge gaps between the planks, passing people smoking joints, kissing, and singing old thyme songs. 2) Go bowling for Jim Beam bottles with a real bowling ball on a plywood lane. Yes. It was satisfying in all the right, jagged, dangerous, bloody ways. 3) Sit around a bonfire outside a seemingly abandoned West Oakland warehouse off the random street of Filbert, like some industrialized Bermuda triangle. 4) Paid $ 5 suggested cover to support the arts(and vegan kids) 5) Watch a series of Indy grunge bands(that were actually quite good), and a couple of all-girl bands(sorrowfully rare). 6) Meet sick artists from all over CA and the world. 7) HAVE A GOODTIMEBEINGSOBER. I LOVEOAKLAND.
