This place is great for a quick bite. Staff were welcoming and super friendly. They had great knowledge of the food and wines. I got set up with a great sandwich(asparagi), side and vino. Great cheese selection! They’d be a great choice to cater a business lunch. I’ll definitely be back.

Holiday music playing, charismatic employees, and great food.(The tuna and artichoke is my favorite.) The Christmas sale is great: buy three wines and get the fourth free and 20% off the Italian cakes! This place is great.

Completely impressed with the level of service and quality of food! The staff was fun and very engaging. Had the funghi/mushroom panini, which was excellent. Now I just need to return to shop their great holiday items! D

What a nice store! ! The sandwich menu has changed and wow what great panini — I couldn’t decide which to choose from, the gentleman behind the counter recommended the grilled chicken and Italian bacon — it was delicious on a soft ciabatta roll. While I was waiting I was offered a taste of a kinda of balsamic vinegar made with Apples and grapes, I had never tasted anything like that before– delicious! I also tried the roasted Brussels sprouts which were cooked AL dented with just a little kick of spice to them. Nice little gem on Piedmont!

I had an excellent customer service experience here! The other day me and my boyfriend came in to get some Burrata and meats for lunch and a man named Mike was just so incredibly helpful, offering up lots of samples and even giving us some little post-lunch chocolates in our grocery bag! What a great store!

The roasted pork loin sandwich will have me coming here again. I am normally not a pork fan but their combination of ingredients was fantastic. The bread was soft and tasty, which is sometimes not the case when trying new delis. I haven’t tried their other sandwiches so I can’t speak to all their menu items but I definitely recommend the roast pork loin sandwich.

I’ve patronized this establishment for over 30 years. I’d tie the trip in with a Kaiser Visit. Today my hubby and I went there, mainly to see Greg, Alameda and to say hello. First, it had been remodeled which was terrific however the food or at least the tuna salad was a Disaster. The recipes have all been changed. WE were very disappointed and would not return. I heard they had a new owner — the owner’s food isn’t to our liking. They do catering by the way, I also noticed that their desserts weren’t there either. I would have had the apricot/almond tart.

Had a couple sandwiches here — they use legit high quality cheeses on them and that made them special but neither one was amazing. A little pricey, I suppose because the ingredients aren’t cheap. Brussel sprouts were fresh and well done also. We were making an impromptu picnic and got 2 nice Rogue beers to top it off — my total was about $ 50… so it adds up kind of quick but it was relatively fresh and healthy. I’d use it the same way again.

My review is based on their new relaunch with new branding and menu and not what they were before. I wonder if all of their franchise got this upgrade or if its just Piedmont. I used to live in Little Italy in Chicago for 8 years and this deli market is on the level. The place is a nice upscale Italian American Deli that offers many imported products and has a premade foods deli and imported cheeses if you want to take something home to heat up for dinner. They have many micro brews for sale in bottle too for all you craft beer advocates. Their hot and cold sandwiches are on point 1. Variety of options and flavor profiles 2. Multiple Vegetarian options that are actually delicious 3. Price is fair and their sandwiches will fill you up unlike some other rip off joints in town. 4. Clean and modern designed Market & Deli 5. Nice jazz playing for rich atmosphere 6. Courteous staff are polite and make your sandwich with pride 7. Their sandwiches are not overloaded with bread and give you more substance I sure hope people try this place out since their relaunch because they really invested big time to do it right. It’s the only real Italian Deli and Market on Piedmont so they have I have had the Fungi, Meatball and Pastrami sandwiches so far and every single time they are consistent.

If you want solid, but overpriced Italian provisions — this is the place. Being a New Yorker — Italian food is like a birthright, so I’m offended by some of their pricing and selection. But there aren’t many other places in the area… And damn — it takes them FOREVER to making a sandwich.

Absolute worst sandwich that I have had ever. Not sure if they have changed management or fired all of the old staff, but my experience yesterday subpar to say the least. My coworker and I went there to get a sandwich for lunch. When we walked in we were never greeted by either of the 2 workers there. Finally, the guy spoke. The girl asked me if I was ordering and when I said yes she said oh well he can help you. Another customer came in and was going to order until the girl said«u want a sandwich? Ok, what kind of sandwich you want.» The lady said never mind and left. By this time my ordered still hadn’t been taken by either of the workers so I finally asked the girl if she could take my order. We got our sandwiches, paid and left. Finally, we get back to our office and I realized that my sandwich had no salami, it was super dry, there was a super thin smear of mustard, no cheese… It was TERRIBLE! I will go back but if either of them are working I will immediately turn around and leave! The turkey meat was good, though…

Typically if I am around my place for lunch I head over to Genova, but AG Ferrari is a very short walk from my place, so I was naturally wanting this to be my new go-to spot. Right of the bat the place looked super-designed/corporate-y, which I was not expecting, but a nice place to walk into. Lots of expensive fancy Italian food-stuffs. I ordered a pretty simple off-menu sandwich(prosciutto with the works, no cheese). The guy who helped me pointed out the burratta prosciutto sandwich, to which I politely declined(not only did I not want cheese on my sandwich, I also was NOT in the mood to pay $ 11 for a fancy sandwich). When it was time to pay, guess what?! $ 11. I was a bit shocked, but I guess it was my own fault for not asking how much an incredibly basic sandwich would be. Had I known I would have gone for something a bit more adventurous. Aaaand when I got home I was even more shocked to see this sandwich.(I’ll admit it, I come from an Italian-foodie family. I have refused to purchase prosciutto places because it was cut too thick. Thick prosciutto is tough/chewy/just not good). This stuff was as thick as oscar mayer bologna. It was as thick as the tomato slices on the sandwich. $ 11 for a basic, poorly made sandwich? I kept thinking about how I could have gone to Genova. or Ikes. or Beautys. Or even Safeway. No thanks.

Stopped by for a sandwich after a medical appt nearby. Classy feel to the place. Got the prosciutto sandwich on focaccia. Bread was a little dry but flavorful. Prosciutto was very thin and they give u plenty of it. Not overly salty. Overall, a simple and good sandwich but it was lacking a little something. Maybe more spread to bring the flavors together. Almost 4 stars.

I’ve been here many time’s to grab a bite to eat and go, I’ve never taken a table and sat down to eat here, I am giving them two stars for the food it’s good, but when I asked to use the restroom to my surprise, They instructed me to go up the street to use the bathroom, wow, I thought if you serve food in an environment where people can sit down and eat, they have to make facility’s available to their customers, at least to wash their hands. :(do not recommend you sit down and eat here, only take out as far as I am concerned.

Sitting at Peet’s on a very rainy morning, I was contemplating what was for lunch. Hubby was in surgery at Kaiser Oakland, and it was early. It was quite possible he would get out a little after noon, so I scrapped plans to try the myriad of wonderful restaurants available in the area(sad). I had walked by A.G. Ferrari Foods on my way here, and I noticed on Unilocal that they opened at 9:00. So that would work perfectly… I would get a sammie and some goodies, and head back to the hospital to read, eat, and wait. I was the only one there at this early hour… I ordered a No 2… Smoked Turkey on Focaccia with Pesto Aioli. A small noodle salad came with, and I got 2 Armaretti cookies. I trudged back in the downpour to the hospital with goodies in hand(Oakland got over 2 inches of rain that day). I later had my feast, and it was truly that! Sandwich…perfect bread, delicious meat and aioli, lots of yummy greens… I could only finish half… but that was sublime. Salad…Sesame oil made this tasty noodle salad sing. Cookies.Baratti & Milano Armaretti Baratti cookies are now my passion… soft and chewy with a strong liquor flavor… I want more! Made my day at Kaiser so much better, and when we got home hubby ate the rest of the sandwich… he was amazed. Come to Dublin/Pleasanton PLEASE!!!

I’m sorry to say I didn’t enjoy my sandwich too much… I got the Turkey Special one Saturday… I should really give it another chance though. I just wasn’t too crazy about my bread selection. It came with soft fluffy bread which mostly tasted like air. I’m more accustomed to hardy crusty breads with a crunch, so I’ll remember to order that next time. The meat portion was on the skimpy side, too… For what you pay for here, I was expecting a lot more substance. I really wanted to like my lunch! On the upside, they gave a side of greens that was tasty. And the window seating was nice — you get a pretty street view, and may even get a tan on a sunny day while you’re at it.

I tried out A.G. Ferrari for lunch with my boyfriend yesterday while walking around Piedmont Avenue and got the sesame noodles for myself, while my boyfriend tried the tuna salad sandwich. The sesame noodles were really tasty, and a nice surprise in an Italian deli. The serving was a little small though and left me somewhat unsatisfied, especially because it was so good. I got to try my boyfriend’s sandwich, which had a pretty decent amount of tuna salad, and liked what I tasted, but the vinaigrette on the salad that came with it was WAY too bitter. I tried it and felt my eyes involuntarily squeeze shut because of the taste. We wanted to try the mozzarella salad, which was a delicious-looking medley of cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and cucumber, but weren’t willing to pay $ 10.99/lb. to try it. And yet again, the customer service here is hit or miss; the woman who actually made and served our food was really nice, but the man who I’m assuming is the owner(and has been there for years) has this strange attitude when you talk to him, like as if he’s not too interested in ringing you up or dealing with you. It was a little over thirteen bucks for two bottles of water, the sandwich, and the noodles. Really not bad, but would’ve been better if my portion was bigger and I didn’t leave somewhat hungry still.
