This is a neighborhood spot for me, but I’ve never went in til today. However, my friends have always talked about how good this place was. So finally I go in for lunch. The lunch prices are affordable ranging from $ 9-$ 13. They give you plenty of side dishes and at the end a nice yogurt drink to end your meal. The service there is very on par! Especially since its a traditional Korean restaurant. Our waiter did not speak much English, but he tried his best to accommodate to our table and was very friendly throughout. We had a bit of communication problems, but he never gave us an attitude and just laughed it off. He got one of the orders wrong due to miscommunication, but he quickly realized and came to confirm and then gave us the wrong order on the house. I have to give them 2 thumbs up for that! The food is on par also. I was not a big fan of the sushi pieces, but the rolls were ok. Maybe its just today though, who knows? I’ll def be back to try their sushi again though. On the plus side, the hot dishes were awesome!

Went here yesterday with my parents for lunch. They have a pretty wide selection on their lunch menu with rice dishes, soups, teriyakis, and sushi/sashimi combos. The prices are very reasonable considering it’s korean food. I got the seng tae jjigae for $ 8.95 my mom got the hwe dup bap for $ 9.95 and my dad got the sushi/sashimi combo which was around $ 10 as well. In total we paid $ 37 and that was including the tip dropped. You get a lot of side dishes including an introductory jook as soon as you sit which is always a plus. I also like that they give you the yogurt drink for dessert when you pay the check. Many times restaurants skip the little freebie during lunch so it’s nice getting that. It helps that they gave us an extra so I could drink 2 ;) It was my first time going here in a while because there was a period of time the food quality fell off but I think it’s back to normal now. I will be going back :)

First of all, the map on location is wrong for this restaurant. It’s on Springfield Bvld and Horace Harding Expressway, east bound. Party of 4 ordered the sashimi for $ 100. We were expecting a bunch of side dishes and that’s exactly what we got. Food here was tasty, fresh, and in abundance. The only complaint and disappointment is that it didn’t come with a lot of sashimi. I would have expected a lot more. Really hard to find a good Korean sushi/sashimi joint.

I have to say that my 4 stars is a combination of the food being pretty good BUT the service was surprisingly attentive and warm. Very unusual for a Korean place. Not once were we ignored since we were«not Korean» !!! The food was pretty basic but very good. A very nice variety of banchan, paired with the haemul pajeon(it was a little thick but cooked through and loaded with seafood). We also had the soondubu and a whole fried red snapper with a chili sauce. There was nothing left of that fish when we were done. It was fried to crispy perfection. I will come back to try the sashimi next time !

We were the only customers there on a Sunday afternoon so you would think the waitress would be attentive to our needs. But that wasn’t the case. Half the time, she was in the back and the other half, she was gabbing with one of the owners. We ordered spicy crunchy tuna roll, salmon roll and a hamachi roll. Nothing great or fresh, it was just ok. The spicy tuna roll was the best out of the three. I guess for $ 10 for 8 pieces, it better be decent. Ok, but probably won’t be coming back, maybe for lunch special.

hmm, i’ve only been here once, but it seems like this place has such a bad rap judging from all the negative reviews. i didn’t think it was bad actually. we all ordered the same thing(hwae dupbap) and it was pretty good. even the assortment of sidedishes was pretty good too. i mean, the only thing we all complained about was that the gochujang wasn’t spicy enough, but other than that, everything was pretty good here. i didn’t notice the sashimi not being fresh or anything like that… i would give this place another try.

I get a takeout for seafood dinner for my parents here once in a while. I think I ate inside the restaurant only once. I usually just get the takeout. The price is pretty reasonable for dinner($ 10 – 20), and I enjoy the food pretty much most of the time. I usually order the spicy fish stew with the red broth, or the fishegg stew or the crab stew which is a delicacy in Korea. They usually add a couple of appetizers such as deep-fried whitings and the sauteed vegetable side dishes. The inside the restaurant is plain and simple, and the waitresses wear sneakers to run around efficiently. It’s a good staple to have in the neiborhood.

The customer service is HORRIBLE(especially when they’re busy). They pretty much prioritize you by age. My friend and I didn’t even get a menu for 10 minutes because we look like college students. And as soon as they handed us the menu, they expected us to pick right away! Got annoyed with us when we asked for a couple of minutes. The waitresses are pretty much unavailable or they forget what you asked for. We didn’t get a plate and a bowl for soy sauce until we were halfway done with the meal. There was A LOT of food but of mediocre quality. I can tell you of MANY other places nearby that are CHEAPER and BETTER. I am NEVER going here EVERAGAIN.

This place was really, really good when I used to go there a few years ago. The food was so good and yummy– done to perfection. The sushi was the BOMB. Not so sure about now. I might go again soon, though, so I hope it’s delicious.
