Incredible food, love the Apricot BBQ sauce! Best BBQ in the entire area hands down. Great people and friendly staff. I highly recommend the chicken BBQ sandwich.

Drove through Oakhurst on our way to Yosemite and decided to stop for lunch before continuing on our journey. Did a quick Unilocal search to see what was good to eat in the area and a handful of BBQ joints came up so we thought we’d give one a try. We settled on Supernaw’s because it had decent prior reviews and the prices seemed reasonable. When we pulled up and stepped out of the car we were greeted by the hickory-sweet smell of barbeque, which appeared to be a good sign. When we entered the restaurant we were quickly and warmly greeted. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and my boyfriend ordered the BBQ Meal with pork and chose mac ‘n’ cheese and coleslaw as his two sides. The sandwich was loaded with thick pieces of bbq chicken and garnished with lettuce, tomato, and onion all stacked on a hoagie roll. The chicken was moist and had a slight hickory flavor, but definitely not the variety of BBQ I’m accustomed to so I added a few squirts of their original BBQ sauce, which improved the flavor of the sandwich significantly. The roll was a little dry so after a few bites I ended up eating opening the sandwich up and eating the meat with a fork. All in all I’d give this sandwich 3 stars. I think having the option to order a half sandwich with one side would have been good. My boyfriend, who had opted for the BBQ pork meal, was completely disappointed on the other hand. He said the pork was stringy and fatty and lacking in flavor. I think he only ate one or two bites and instead opted to focus his attention on my recently opened BBQ chicken sandwich. He did enjoy the mac ‘n’ cheese — as did I! — but neither of us cared for the coleslaw. He says that he would give the entire meal 2 stars — 0 stars for the pork, 1 star for the coleslaw and 4 stars for the mac’n’cheese. We washed our meals down with a glass of unsweetened iced tea, which although refreshing tasted more like water than tea. Save your money and opt for a cup for water instead. I think the worst part is how much we spent($ 28!!) on a meal that was, overall, sub-par. Sadly we will not be back should we ever return to the area.

Giving three stars generously. Not super impressed. I’m a homegrown Texas boy who loves some good Q. Not really the place. No smoke rings on any of the meat. Chicken, ribs, or Tri Tip. No smoke flavor at all. Flavors were decent. Not anything to write home about. BBQ sauce is way too sweet for my taste. Pure brown sugar. Jalapeño Mac and cheese was good. First time here, and not so great. Soda machine was broken. Minimal food left for 5 pm. Mediocre trip at best.

Yum! Gotta try their specials. If they have it, try the Guapo or Buffalo Chicken Sando! Awesome man n’ cheese and corn casserole. Super fresh, cool staff and neat place.

My husband and I absolutely love this place. There bbq sauce is just amazing! Every time we go the meat has been juicy and cooked just right. I have gotten a sandwhich a few times and totally love them. We never once have been unsatisfied with the food. The staff have always been super nice, it’s nice to see the owner himself there working along side the other employees.

I’m giving them 3 stars because I’ve tried eating there about 5 times and they are always closing early and they never answer their phone. I stopped by around 6 when they advertise closing at 8 and they were closed.

Supernaws BBQ is the best BBQ around! Everything is homemade! I love that the meat is cooked with the idea in mind you make it your own with any of the four homemade BBQ sauces! The meat is cooked and smoked fresh everyday, sides are all homemade, salads are all the bomb, homemade pies everyday plus cookies and whatever else the owners decide to whip up! The service is awesome! They take your order with a smile and get it to you quickly! Whether you want ribs, chicken, tri tip, pulled pork or anything else on the menu you will not be disappointed! Thank you Supernaws for bringing this amazing food to our town! Also the support for our local high school is wonderful! I love that you give back to our small community:) great owners, great staff, great environment all equals a great food experience!

Just awful. Liquid smoke isn’t the only taste I want in my mouth after taking a bite of a tri tip sandwich. Oakhurst is in serious need of a real BBQ place

I had the pork sandwich. The meat was tough and had an odd, maybe liquid smoke, taste. I don’t believe it was actually smoked(no smoke ring). I thought they might have given me the cold sandwich by accident and I actually had to touch the meat to determine that it was luke warm at best. The roll was cold and tough. The room was cold and there was a child screaming in the kitchen.

Stopped in after a long day of hiking. I had the rib meal. I was a little worried about only 4 ribs, then they brought my plate. Wow impressive and big. I did not leave hungry. The ribs had that smokey delicious rib flavor that sets good ribs apart from not so good. I tried a couple of different sauces. Both were excellent. For sides I picked slaw and pilaf. Slaw was very good. The pilaf was also nice. Not as good was Greek or Armenian style but that’s really not a fair comparison. Still I liked it. The interior was nice, clean and had plenty of room. The girls behind the counter were helpful and I felt really cared if you enjoyed your meal. I’ve been to their local competitor and thought it was good but not this good. I will be returning to this place over the other.

We were just passing through Oakhurst as we are staying in Yosemite and, as luck has it, we had a wonderful snack in Supernaw’s. The staff, which were 2 girls, were both very pleasant and chatted away to myself, my wife and 4 year old child. I have travelled from Ireland and we know our meat and we had 3 fantastic sandwiches and cold drinks. We will be skipping dinner this evening… still full !!! Thanks all.

A very good, non-chain, locally owned restaurant that we visited over the weekend. My wife and I had tri-tip plate. I had mac salad and mac/cheese; my wife had potato salad and rice pilaf. All four were very good. Meat was cooked medium — slightly pink. Very tasty crust. Good quality beef — tri-tip was sliced properly, which in my experience can make a big difference on tenderness. Very good beef flavor with a definite but not overwhelming smoke/grill flavor. I particularly enjoyed two of the three sauces — a chipolte and a sweet apricot. The regular sauce was good and enjoyable, but not a standout. I had planned to have ribs but they were out. Ditto, my wife wanted coleslaw, but they were out. Turns out there was a rib festival that same day(they didn’t use that as an excuse, however; friendly apology for not having what we’d asked). We visit Oakhurst regularly to see family and I plan to visit again.

Grabbed a couple plates to go, do it all sat for an hour before we could dig in. So this review may not be perfect. Everything was rock solid except for the chili. The highlight if all things was the chicken which was moist and and had a deep smokey flavor.

So incredibly delicious! BBQ flavors are amazing. 4 different types. Potato salad is peppery. Smoker out front lets the amazing smell woft down the freeway and into the restaurant. Very friendly and attentive service. Definitely a must visit if you’re ever in oakhurst! :)

Have been a regular since opening. Like most BBQ places, a little pricey but we don’t go everyday. Used to go to Todd’s but like Supernaws better. Very friendly folks. Would like to see them expand their menu. Dine in or take home, you won’t be disappointed. Great pies also.

I ordered a tri tip sandwich and a drink to go. It was over $ 11. The sandwich was only about 6 inches and came wrapped tightly in paper. No barbecue sauce. The meat wasn’t bad but part of the bread was soggy from the meat juices. The rest of it was stale and inedible. Won’t be back.

I am beginning to doubt the integrity of Unilocal. If I get a cold soup or an overcooked steak, I have the right to say so. While I am not here to bash this establishment, in fact, only here to update my most recent visit, I have come to find that the reviews are filtered so that only 4 – 5 stars show up for Supernaws Bar-b-q and that is dishonest. Therefore, I will not return. The pie is excellent but the meat is tough and the flavor was off. The owners of this place I have come to realize are snarky and malevolent so I will take my business elsewhere. Of course, this will likely be filtered along with the other reviews that are not written by the owners/staff themselves. Lark
