This place sucks. Over priced and not only that the cashier pockets the money and half the time doesn’t ring In the order and clearly is pocketing money. Very positive i was over charged. Didn’t wanna make a scene the place was busy. Just couldn’t believe my eyes, if you need money that bad to steal and over price items that’s sad… for your sake i hope the owner knows.

I know I may be too audacious to make this statement, yet I’m going to say it anyway. Pete’s Italian beef sandwich with hot peppers is just as competitive to the one at Johnnie’s. I know there’s always a line at Johnnie’s and seating is extremely limited, why wouldn’t you try an alternative spot with an ample indoor seating and public restrooms? Pete’s also takes visa, master, and discover cards. If you intend to enjoy your Italian beef sandwich on the road while driving, forget it! The only complaint(oh well, not a legitimate complaint at all) was that my Italian beef was beyond juicy! An order of fries would certainly be needed to soak up the extra au jus. Pete’s service is speedy, friendly, and confusion-free. Instead of the crazy order numbers that you normally have to pay attention to, each order is called out with the exact contents. Visit Pete’s, on the corner of Roosevelt and Ridgeland in Oak Park, diagonally across from that famous Turano Baking Company.

Just revisited the Italian Beef Sandwich: hot and sweet peppers dipped. Not as good as Johnie’s Beef for the record. Too salty! The meat was good, a bit too much over seasoned is all. I’ll still go back there when I need to, but maybe I think I will stick with the Gyros, which I really liked.

I love this place, we don’t come here often but when we do I get so happy. Lots of great choices. They are fast and efficient and the food is always good.

Regular customer because of proximity to my house. Food is greasy but tasty. Some items seem overpriced. The staff is very friendly. Beers are good, in my opinion not the best ever, but good nonetheless. Gyros are really good. Burgers are decent, better than McDonald’s, but nothing to write home about. Most serving sizes are pretty generous.

OMG, I love this place! It doesn’t matter what you get, it’s ALL good! My favorite is the Italian Beef with hot peppers. Don’t forget the fries and coke! The hot dogs are great, as well as the gyros and burgers. My husband and I order a couple of pounds of the Italian Beef in advance and bring it home to cook. It’s perfect for game nights!

Pete’s is good, one of the best in all of the Chicago Land area. Everything on the menu is awe-inspiring. I love the gyros. I usually order them with feta on the side. The food here is better than fantastic. You’ll be one satisfied customer at just over $ 5 a person.

I hadn’t been here in years, my husband and I passed it up on our way home and stopped for a cheeseburger w/fries. I don’t recall the burgers to be so bland. No taste at all. Such a disappointment. The only thing good was the fries and mozz stix. Needs improvement if uou ask me! Frankly quite disgusting.

Great fast food, quik service. Always satisfied! Been coming here for years, never had a problem. Quality food served well. Best fast food place in the area! So far I’ve had the ribeye sandwich($ 12), gyro meal($ 10), gyro salad($ 10), hot dog meal($ 5) & pizza puff($ 7). Minus one star for the high prices!

I have lived and worked on the southwest side of Chicago for years and just recently tried Petes after a co-worker told me about the Chicken. I have been here now 3 times in the past couple of weeks. I am just amazed with how good it is. I have only had the Greek Dinner plate but I think I will venture out the next time and try the Grilled Chicken sandwich :) Great service, food was quick, just all in all perfect place to go for lunch!

I’m a big fan, I’ve been going there for years and have never been disappointed. I’ve even tried the Super Taco and it was decent. The only thing I hate about going there is I always leave craving something else on their menu. Their beefs top both Buona’s, Portillos, & Johnny’s!

Oh, Pete’s. How I love you. Nothing to look at from the outside(or inside for that matter), but Pete’s is solid fast food. I highly recommend the gyros — I haven’t had better in Chicago. The fries are also delicious(thicker and crispy like steak fries). Hard to go wrong if you’re looking for a good hot dog or gyros.

Can’t believe I’ve been in the area for almost five years and hadn’t been here. Cool old school place with fast food that is good quality and great prices. The building looks like its been there for 50 years. There is a small parking lot that always seems to be full. Line was out the door when I went last time. Highly recommend the greek chicken dinner, rib tips dinner comes in second place. Food came out quickly and very hot. Was still nice and hot when I got home from the 3 block walk. There are a row of booths inside, but more of a takeout place.

Huge servings of pretty much everything we’ve ordered from here so far. Everything was tasty and the service was quick. I will definitely be back when I’m craving something greasy and delicious.

I have only stepped foot inside of this place two times — to pick up food, not to mingle with the clowns that sit at the tables and talk loudly on their cell phones. Usually a cook answers the phone and says«madjfnsjsdf» so I say, «I would like to place an order.» This person typically replies«fafdsfkjkjhsdjh.» I order my food and the retort is «faslkdfntenminutesasdfads,» with the phone hanging up immediately. I like this part. I wait my ten minutes and pick up my food. Greek chicken dinner was bomb and I opted for the rice instead of the fries so I can remain under 250 pounds until I finally give the fuck up around age 30. Today, I got the rib tips dinner, WITHFRIES, because who gives a shit. This meal was far superior to the awesome Greek chicken and made me very sleepy. I believe I got the ‘itis’ — don’t eat the rib tips if you have to drive or operate a crane. I bet this food would taste even better with some beers. Go here.

The gyro at Pete’s rivals the best of the suburbs. The menu is extensive and it is difficult to go wrong. The rib eye steak sandwich on garlic bread is what I’d assume the food in heaven might taste like. The only drawback is the lack of inside seating. With just a couple booths its mostly a take out joint.
