This is a great Salon! I had to find a new hairdresser since I was new to the area. I was frightened to let someone else cut my hair after seeing the same stylist in my hometown for over 10 years. I had very long hair and wanted a change, something shorter. This was definitely the place to go. The service here was excellent. The staff was very friendly. My hair looks amazing. Couldn’t be happier with the overall service. I am defiantly going back. Ashley is great! She cuts my husbands hair, who is super picky and particular about his haircuts. Give it a shot, its worth paying a couple of extra bucks to have your hair cut right.

I would give them –5 stars if I could. By far, the WORST customer service I have EVER encountered and I spend a lot of time in retail, beauty salons, etc. The hair stylist did not know what she was doing. I walked in there with VERY healthy LONG hair, un-treated with no chemicals no heat products, just absolutely healthy, long and thick. I walked out with fried, damaged hair that continues to fall out. When I called to receive a resolution, the owner yelled at me and told me he did not see a problem. Very unprofessional. They refused to treat me with respect from the minute I entered the door. I truly believe they are prejudice and anyone who works there or pays money at this salon should be ashamed of who they are as individuals. I have never been more disappointed or upset. I am seriously considering legal action and was in tears because of the mistreatment I received. This does not even compare to the HORRIFIC way they did my hair… I will not even go into that because it would take a Book to write. PLEASESTAYAWAYFROMTHISSALON. You are better off elsewhere or even doing your hair yourself. I wish so badly I could go back in time and had never stepped foot here.

If you want a great haircut and color this is the shop to go to. I’ve been going to Anthony Salerno’s for years and always get the best service. The owners always make you feel so welcome. The shop is very cute and comfortable. I recommend this shop if you want to be treated special and get great haircuts/colors.

The team at Anthony Salerno are fantastic! They have been my primary pick for regular highlights & colors since moving to the area. They’re a smaller salon, but I personally prefer the niche/boutique businesses over brands/chains any day. I sincerely appreciate the quality of not only the stylists but the customer service. It’s clear from every visit I’ve had that their business made up of devoted regulars, now myself included. The salon is led by Anthony(Tony) Salerno, and his wife, Kathy, who is the lead stylist. She consults with every customer, and once I settled into a good routine with her, I felt comfortable going with a few of the junior stylists on her team. As I’m admittedly a little«detail-oriented,» there have been a few times I wasn’t entirely happy with how the color turned out. Though nothing to warrant a correction, Kathy always revisits what we did the previous time, listens to my detailed review of how I’d like it just a little more darker/lighter/redder/blonder/what have you, and works with me to find the right mix. As for the cuts, they have always turned out stellar.

I’ve never written a review on Unilocal before but this place inspired me. Both of the owners were incredibly RUDE, my hair was done by someone I suspect was not even licensed and the color is AWFUL. Here is my story: I called for an appointment and the male owner answered the phone. Whilst trying to set up the appointment with him his wife kept yelling at him in the background, coaching him on what to say. He was rude to begin with and all this commotion didn’t help. I told him what I needed, that I was a new client, etc. I asked him to suggest a stylist and he did. The appointment was set. Next day I show up at appointed time. Receptionist looks at book and says«You don’t have an appointment». Also, by the way, no courtesy about it or «gee, let me check into this.» Just«You have no appointment.» I say okay and start to leave when Mr. Owner saunters over to counter and mumbles to receptionist to have so-and-so do my hair.(NOTWHO I BOOKEDWITHEITHER). Then he looks at me and says«Well…go over there.» No hello. Nothing. Of course I don’t know what«over there means» either since no one has pointed out a stylist or dressing rooms or anything. Then Mrs. Boss comes over and looks at my hair. I tell her I’m using 6.34(which is color talk for a depth and tones which is universal even though they use a different brand). She immediately starts talking about«7» to the stylist then mutters the rest since the«secret» formula is what supposedly keeps you coming back. I try to pipe in that I want a 6 base, not a seven. Ignored. The lady who did my hair did work hard and was nice. She was so-so cut-wise and, surprise, surprise, the color SUCKED which was not her fault since Mrs. Boss dictated. Mrs. Boss then comes over, looks at the top of my head and announces«The color looks great». Not asking me. Just telling me. Not to belabor BUT if you have dyed red hair you know what a bummer it is when someone RUINS your beautiful color and it is now muddy and greenish blond where too much was stripped and not enough laid down…sigh. Then you can’t put your tip on a credit card and I had no cash. ALSO, the whole two hours I was there Mr. Boss, Mrs. Boss and a loud friend of theirs overwhelmed the whole salon talking about Vegas and on line looking at plane tickets and restaurant menus. And lounging around in the reception area doing this. Like I said I’ve never even written a review before but they drove me to it. Bill for single process and simple cut: $ 150 They don’t deserve business, honestly.

So this place is great, but just be prepared to pay a lot more than you are really getting. Yes, the stylists know what they are doing, but in no way do the haircuts I get from here deserve the money that you spend. There are a few other salons in the area that are a little cheaper and still cut hair very well(Pagani for example). Nonetheless, if you have the cash or credit then go here because you are not going to be disappointed.

I go to this salon whenever I need to get my eyebrows tinted. Not many salons do eyebrow tinting but luckily Anthony Salerno does. The front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. However, some of the stylists can use an attitude makeover because they seem to look down upon anything that doesn’t fit their«style” – meaning, anyone who’s not dark haired. The times I’ve been here, everyone in this salon looks the same(pale and dark-haired). Personally, I find it boring when every stylist looks the same. I like to see variety. I think this salon might specialize more in traditional styles and a bit conservative. At James Anthony(in River Forest) or Paul Mitchell the School in Chicago you’ll definately find variety and extremely hospitable services. But unfortunately they don’t do eyebrow tinting at PM the School and at James Anthony they only do tinting if you’re getting color services for your hair.

I really do love this place. They are great at customer service. If anything is wrong they will fix the problem right away. I used to have the best hair cuts from here, however they lost the beautician. Which greatly saddened me. But as far as the other stylists you will never be disappointed. They do cut the best short hair in all of Chicago-land! The only negative is the hair color there is a bit orange, and I did not like the results. Your hair cut will last longer than anywhere else. I used to go 4 – 5 months between cut, which is a plus when I am super busy, or traveling. The stylist told me she would not cut my hair if I dyed it myself or anywhere else. So I did switch salons:(which is sad. But if I am paying over $ 160 on a hair cut plus color I expect it to be the color I show them. They should get different color products to use… That is the only down side. Another bonus is the salon makes there own products that are so great. My favorite is the spray shine, makes my hair the silkiest ever and is easy to use. And the mud, which is great to use as a dry shampoo and boost the roots!

I would not recommend this salon for a guy’s haircut. The haircut cost $ 45.00, for what I would term as a below par haircut with little style, not a quality haircut. I can get a better cut at the local Hair Cuttery for 12 bucks. For those who are interested, they don’t accept credit cards, so you have to bring cash only and tip the stylist and shampoo lady. So, for nearly 30 minutes, and $ 55.00 you can have a men’s haircut; it’s simply ridiculous. In my opinion, on the surface the space may appear somewhat trendy, but the services are below par, overpriced, and the cut is dated!

I decided on a whim to get my hair cut/colored after not having had any haircuts/color in over 4 years. Even though I was calling to see if appointments were available that day, they told me to just come on in for a free consultation. The staff was all very friendly, and one of the owners consulted with me on what she thought would be best for my hair. They were able to fit me in same day, my stylist(her name was Andi) was very knowledgeable, friendly and did an AWESOME job with my highlights and cut. All my friends and co-workers love the ‘new me!’ I will definitely be going back to them in the future!

An alright salon, not my favorite. Nice environment. They don’t specialize in particularly funky cuts, as I’ve found. Actually more designed for old bitties/Carol Brady. My first cut was so-so, then the next one was just plain ridiculous.

I had to find a new salon to get my hair done at, and in my search I found Anthony Salerno Salon. The salon is very cute, welcoming receptionist area, open and airy. The stylist I had was wonderful. I told her what i was thinking about and we went over some ideas. In the end she did a great job. Everyone at the salon was so sweet, and they had a great layout of coffee and treats there.
