A hidden gem! I now know why their parking lot is always full! Spotless, excellent food(hot dogs and polish great and soups best in area) and prices very competitive. Love that they have drive thru and deliver as well.

We just ordered from their online menu. The prices were way higher than what the menu said. When I called back, the manager said they are not the right prices and their not responsible for that. WELLTHANWHOIS? There was very little apologizing. Then chicken tenders were not crispy and very chewy and rubbery. The chili fries were very dry and the hamberger just wasn’t good. We definitely will not be going back! Only gave 1 star because I had too.

Cooked to order. I doubt it. My beef sandwich was ready before I even filled up my pop. The food was below expectations for the high price.

My husband bought me a chicken philly sandwich from here and I have to say I was very disappointed! The sandwich lacked seasoning… BIGTIME… was very bland and the onion and bell peppers were cut too big… it’s safe to say that I had more bell pepper and onion than I did meat. I usually get my chicken philly sandwich from the Chicago Cheesesteak Co. but this place was closer to my house so I was open to giving this place a try. Sorry to say that I will think twice before ordering from here again. I might be open to trying something else on the menu but it’s a wrap for that chicken philly sandwich.

Great food, good service. Everything made fresh, good atmosphere, especially if you have children. Enjoy their gyros and the Italian beef sandwich w/hot peppers is the bomb!

The only reason I’m giving them 4 stars is because it is next to impossible to hear them through the drive thru. Very staticy and aggravating to order thru drive thru. Other than that the place is great. Very clean and wide menu variety. Friendly staff.

Food is alright. While the staff is generally friendly, a bad experience has tainted the place for me. I make ALLOT of food runs for the office.(budget as much as $ 70). I got there at about 5:05, driving in heavy traffic.(yes we work late) Ordered one meal for someone(2dog special), plus i got some cheese frys for myself. Women working the window hands me my change and a bag of food and says im set. I drive back to the office and open it up and there is only one fry(the special), and no cheese. So now I drive back to Plutos in heavy rush hour traffic again. Ok EVERYBODY eventually makes a mistake here and there. I don’t judge them for a mess up, I judge them for how they handle it, or lack of. The same(young)women that handed me my food and took my order barely remembers me from 15min ago. She asks the food prep people about the cheese frys and tells me that they are sure they put it in the bag. How am I supposed to respond to that even? The bag was tore open and 2 hotdogs and a fry was inside. The truth is another fry and cheese container would probably not have even fit in the same bag and have it close. She asks if I have the food bag, of course its at the office with the guy eating it. She tells me its her policy to only refund if they have the bag to look at. I ask how that proves anything because people could just take something out? If I had took his food away to drive all over with it, trust me he would be wanting a refund for his dogs as well. Who wants cold food? and to pay for it? She tells me she wont give me a refund without the bag, and that is their policy. She asks me if I can go get the bag of food. Which I refuse of course. Its a drive, plus its being eaten? She tells me that there is nothing she can do for me then. After I argue more she says she will take my information down and contact me tomorrow, and maybe i can come back. More driving and time for my simple problem? WOW thats all i can say. WOW. So I don’t give up. and wont move from the drive though window without a solution. Eventually she says for me to come inside and they can figure something out now. So I go inside and wait for them to figure out what they are going to do. Meanwhile I call the office, I know 100,000,000% that there is only one fry. But I ask anyway if there was somehow a cheese sauce hidden since they swear they put it in. Of course the guy says no. The people at Plutos are still saying that they put it in, essential calling me a liar. I ask them if they really remember putting cheese together for a cheese fry in the last 20min. And if so what was in the bag with it, was in in drive though or inside. If they SWEAR they made the cheese frys, WHERETHE F**K ISTHETHING. You guys have security cameras. Pull up the tape and see where you put it. It didn’t go to me! But that doesn’t stop you from calling me a liar anyway without any proof. Good for you, I wont be coming back and if someone from the office wants something from you I will be suggesting other places since I am the driver. So much for customer is always right. I see from other Unilocal reviews I am not the only one with this kind of issue with not taking care of their mistakes.

Another opportunity lost. Stopped by because I thought the manager had offered me lunch as amends for previous bad experience. Told nice cashiers the story, they checked but didn’t find a note about it so asked me to pull up the Unilocal.I did, and found the mgr had NOT, in fact, offered to buy me lunch but has just apologized. So I told the nice counter gal, who instead of doing the right thing, said«Sorry» and let me walk out the door. I’m not going to pay again to try a place where I had such a lousy experience, but there was opportunity for them to wow me with a great lunch and secure a loyal customer. Epic fail. That’s it for me ! Plenty of other places to go.

Average at best, I ordered the Galaxy dog and it was definitely not out of this world. The fact that I was tricked by their imitation logo from Disney’s toy story«pizza planet» really frustrates me now because I would’ve never thought twice about going to a hotdog stand called Plutos. Also, my biggest regret was not ordering the Oreo cheese cake, which was also prepackaged that I could buy from jewel for a dollar cheaper. Lastly, I parked in a parking spot that had a sign in front of it in which stated«look up». So I did… go figure there was no spaceship or anything remotely interesting except a gray sky. Pluto is no longer a planet, this restaurant should find a similar path.

This place has good quality food. Gyros platter is the best in my opinion. YOU Get Alot Of Meat AND It’s Quality NO Cheap products!

While the people were friendly the food was just bad and cheap tasting. Also, why even bother with a picnic table outside if it’s 6″ from a major busy street. I’d like to give it a higher rating but I just can’t. Go to portillos which isn’t all that great either but has a much cleaner and better presentation

Well stopped here the other day and there was like twenty cops. You know they would not all go to a place bless it was good. I didn’t like the fries and this is pretty much an ok independent local place for burgers and gyros.

Well, this was my first visit, and everyone was saying that they’ve got great Chicago Style hotdogs. So I did the Galaxy special, hold the sport peppers, and an extra side of onion rings to go. Got my order quickly and headed home. And to my surprise there’s no onion rings, they gave me cheese sticks instead. They were pretty good, but of course I got no sauce, because I didn’t actually order them. The fries were just there, nothing to write home about. And the hotdogs were average, no poppy seeds on the bun, no celery salt, and when I bit into it there were sport peppers. So I say average food, quick service, free wifi. I’ll update if I go back and try a different item.

Good food, my son enjoys their fries, and I enjoy their mozzarella sticks, and gyros. Friendly environment, and out of this world motif.

I love the gyros and the soups. My favorite is the cream of chicken with rice that they serve on Tuesday and Thursday I believe. I find it to be the best gyros I have had in a while. I think the fries are ok as is the chicken strips. I think they need to be crispier, although they are ok. By far the service is top notch. Every person that works there is polite and knows what’s going on.

its just okay. People really love this place for some reason, Not sure why. I’m against the previous reviews on the lack of the poppy seed bun. «It’s not an authentic Chicago Dog unless its on a poppy seed bun». Okay, but you’re going to give a place 1 or 2 stars because of some frickin lack of poppy seeds on your bun? Give me a break

How can you call this a Chicago style hot dog without a poppy seed bun? And I have to pay extra for sport peppers? One word for the reviews for this place: inaccurate. Another word for this place overall: overrated. Eat at portillos. The only reason I’m giving this an extra star is because of their fries. They have some some sort of Cajun seasoning. Portillos or bust.

Some time ago I saw another Unilocaler«check in» at Pluto’s and added it to my bookmarks of places to visit. While I’m not often in the South Suburbs, when I was in the general area again I finally made a trip out to Pluto’s to give this place a try. Upon driving up to the restaurant I immediately noticed a very distinctive space theme. When walking in you notice lots of rockets, stars and other space related objects decorating the walls. I stepped up to the counter and ordered a hot dog, fries and a drink and waited for my order to be ready. I filled up my drink in the soda fountain which I was pleased to see that they offered Pepsi products. And once my food was ready I then sat in the corner and made a quick video with some notes about the hot dog and fries and dug in. The hot dog here came on a regular non-poppy seed bun. The bun was fairly soft with no noticeable signs of dryness. The first thing I noticed was that the tomato slice on the hot dog was fairly thick. This led to a bit more tomato flavor and a slightly wetter and sloppier hot dog than you’ll find most places. The application of relish was light so that flavor was under-represented here while the chopped up onions were a bit more abundant on this dog. The mustard was applied decently, there were three sport peppers on the hot dog which were not initially applied by whomever assembled it evenly on the dog. The sausage here used is skinless and was slightly longer than the bun. Celery salt was noticeable but not excessive, and the pickle slice was on the thin side. The overall combination of ingredients was a little uneven as the condiments were not well spread through the hot dog leading to bites with practically no relish in them. The fries included were thicker steak style fries. There was some type of seasoning on the fries themselves and there was not much of a grease flavor or fried flavor to them. My overall impression of these fries was that they were quite bland and that the seasoning wasn’t enough to salvage them. As a result most of them wound up in the garbage where they belong. My overall impression of Pluto’s was mixed. The space theme was definitely cool and I enjoyed a lot of the little quirks(restrooms labeled Mars and Venus for example) and nuances they put into decorating it. While the food at Pluto’s was far from being«Out of this world» no one would imply that it tastes like something that came from Uranus. I’d say this is an average hot dog joint in the area and will award it three stars.

I’m a little torn on this one. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. This isn’t a place I’d even normally try. It’s in an old Burger King building and always looked a bit scary to me. I got the nerve to go inside one day and it’s clean and nicely decorated. Love– Drive Thru Fries(awesome Cajun seasoning) Homemade chicken tenders All sauces are homemade(according to menu) Friendly staff Clean restaurant Large menu 2 soups daily Hate– Hot dog itself is just ok and it was served on a non poppy seed bun They forgot my rice pudding once(so I have yet to try it) Polish sausage wasn’t good at all I stick to things that I know I love here now and just avoid the items that disappoint me. I also check my bag carefully before pulling away now.

There are a bunch of places like Pluto’s here on the SW side. Youve got Mickey’s, youve got Fatso’s, Dabs etc just to name a few. They all have similar menus. Pluto’s is pretty good though. I dont go nearly as often as I have in the past as I live a little bit more north west of there now and I find myself going to Fatso’s which is closer. Looking for a Chicago classic… deep fried fatty pizza puff? Pluto’s has one. A Chicago Style hot dog? Pluto’s does Chicago Style to a T. Vienna hot dog with that snap casing, poppy seed bun, relish and my favorite sport peppers. They make a pretty decent burger as well. I particularly like their fries which are simple but good. Sorta like Wendy’s fries before they changed them. Also a fan of their Maxwell St Polish and their home made soups.
