Twice, I’ve gone to Brown’s Chicken in Oaklawn, il and twice I’d asked for someone else to make my food! The last time, I walked OUT!!! The manager or supervisor Sheryl or Cheryl(not for sure of the right spelling of her name), NEVEREVERWEARGLOVES! This women rubbed her nose, flick her hair and begin to grab food out of the freezer or open the heater for the corn on the cob and turn them… WITHNOGLOVES! Brown’s Chicken in OAKLAWNIL, is DIRTY! This women Cheryl or Sheryl, when asked to put on gloves, she didn’t, then the security guard, walked in kitchen part, where food is being cook and grab food!!! UNBELIEVABLE, WHATTYPEOFFILTHOF A RESTAURANTISTHIS!!! OBVIOUSLY, BROWN’S CHICKENOWNERSAREFULLOFFILTHTHEMSELVES!

I stopped in for lunch and the place was empty but it was also a Monday. The place has some great daily deals and although I did not have Monday’s daily deal… it looked good. I ended up having a 3 piece meal and it was A-OK. I prefer the crispiness of KFC and/or the spicyness of Popeyes chicken vs. Brown’s seasoning… The service, pricing, cleanliness were good and that’s why I give it a solid 3 stars. If you like beef & hot dogs, which I did not have this time around — Brown’s chicken will not disappoint — Now that I think about it… I probably prefer the beef vs. the chicken… dig the biscuits too.

Good place to grab a quick dinner for the family. I usually take out or hit the drive thru because the dining area is kinda small and not very comfy. The food is good, the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Verdict: Nothing fancy here, no real standout dish, just good fried chicken, sides, and sandwiches for a quick meal when you are not up for cooking.

I am writing a review about their Italian Beef, oddly enough. Their chicken is very good, so I won’t bother with that. I suspect most people, like myself, would never think of a chicken place as a good place to try Italian Beef. Like going to McD’s for salad. However, I finally tried this place, after years of intentions to do so. This is one good f*@*ing sammich. I get the large size, and with extras it can get a little costly. I figure it this way… every bite is awesome, and it will absolutely stuff you, so 7,8,9 bucks is worth it to me. Great Au Jus, with some garlic zip. Great marinara too. Give this a shot.(Drive-thru too! I couldn’t be any lazier!)
