The food was great, but sadly, slightly burned. The service was friendly but it’s obvious they need more servers and chefs/assistants in the kitchen. They were clearly struggling to keep up. Some of the dishes weren’t cleaned well and the space really needs some updating. The layout is not very family friendly, and I am surprised they didn’t have any high chairs. With a few improvements this place could be amazing! And I really hope I see it get there.

Patsy’s is a continuation and reiteration of NYNY which used to be on Barbur. The owner Pat is a nice Italian guy he’s very social and takes great pride in the food that he serves. This place is a pizzeria, not a fine Italian restaurant so don’t expect to get five-star service. You should go there for a slice of pizza or a good helping of spaghetti. If that’s what you’re after, then you’re going to find it. Sometimes the help can be a little shady feeling, and Pat will sit and talk with patrons or make a phone call from a booth, but taken for what it is this place has great pizza, awesome sauce and great subs. It’s a neighborhood joint owned by a neighborhood guy, and it’s the best Italian sub in miles.

It may a small place but makes up for It In taste. If you have a craving for a true New York pizza done by a true New Yorker then this is the place for you. The owner cooks everything from scratch and tosses his own pizza crust. They have nightly specials I believe it’s usually some type of pasta. They serve beer, wine and unlimited soda.

We had a fine meal here today. I had the«spaghetti aglio olie» with garlic bread and my husband had pizza. We ate in the restaurant. Our food was nothing fancy but was very tasty and filling. My spaghetti was al dente with plenty of olive oil and basil and was chock-full of delicious cloves of roasted garlic. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his pizza– despite other reviews stating otherwise it was not burnt, the crust was exactly what one expects of New York pizza, and it had plenty of toppings. The owner was definitely gregarious and talkative, but he appeared to care what we thought abut his food. This isn’t a place you’d come for the atmosphere, but we had no complaints about the food.

Horrible experience with a take out order. When I arrived home and unwrapped my chicken parm sandwich I discovered that about 1⁄3 of the roll was burnt to a black crisp. It’s inconceivable that the owner would wrap that up and think that it was acceptable for someone to eat it. I’m pretty sure that he would never eat something that looked like that. That fact that he sent me home with it, is like a big F you to the customer. I don’t live close enough where I could bring it back. If you think I’m exaggerating you can see the photo I’ve posted of the sandwich. I won’t be back.

Wow, I support this little neighborhood, nook-in-the-wall Italian restaurant. Food is good. Very hard working crew.

Stopped by because it was new and I like to support local businesses. The place reminded me of the New York pizzarias I go to every few months when I’m there. Not a lot of seating, giant oven, etc. Ordered the Rachel and the Rosemary(minus anchovies, add portabella). Most places will swap a topping at no cost, they charged the $ 2 fee for adding a veggie. I was ok with it because I really wanted some NYC style pizza, here at home. When I got my pizzas home, the first thing I noticed was how thick the crust was. They may make their dough NYC style, but they definitely don’t toss it thin like they do there. When it came to toppings, there was a good amount of cheese and the sauce was great. The meatball was extremely thin, didn’t see any sausage, and once again the outer crust was huge. When I say huge, I mean that the outer crust was 2 inches by 1 ½ inches of pure dough. On the other pizza, the portabellas looked much more like common white mushrooms. Not saying that they were, but for $ 25 per pizza, I expect a ton of toppings. I’ve tried it and have supported them, don’t know that I will go back.

I stopped by this place since they were new in my neighborhood and I had a craving for pizza. I ordered the Marty, which said it had meatballs and ricotta. Sounds good, right? Well, when I got my pizza, it only had a few very thin slices of what I presume was originally a meatball. The sauce was good, but it had very little cheese and the crust was very thick and bready. To me, the crust overpowered the sparse toppings. The service was good and the place is clean, but I don’t think I’ll be going back unless I’m trying their pasta instead.

Stopped in to try out this little new place because they have a special on slices… I’m SO glad I did! $ 5 got me a slice of the BESTPIZZA I’VEEVERHAD, plus a surprisingly awesome salad and a bottomless drink. Let me elaborate about the pizza: I’ve never before understood the point of cheese pizza(typical takeout cheese pizza is practically inedible to me), but the pizza from this place completely changed my mind. The crust is as good or better than the stuff you typically pay through the nose for in Portland at fancy pizza places: thin, soft inside with a firm crust that leaves a little flour on your fingers and just the slightest bit sweet(seriously only the tiniest bit). The cheese tastes great, but the real star is the sauce. It’s a rich dark red and full of herbs and a few visible chunks of tomato, and they aren’t stingy with it which is something I love! My slice arrived hot and melty and slightly greasy and it was PERFECT. I was so impressed that I had to order a pepperoni pizza to go so that I could continue to eat this awesome pizza at home… Believe me, the pepperoni pizza was just as amazing. Patsy’s isn’t just a pizzeria, either. The menu has a list of daily specials for only $ 8, stuff like Gnocchi, Tortellini Bolognese, Manicotti, and so on. I’m definitely going to have to come back every day of the week to try everything because if the pizza was any indication of the quality here, then this might be the best Italian food(especially for the price) that I’ll ever have. There are specialty 12″ pizzas, too, which I’m also going to have to work my way through in the coming months… The entrance is kind of hard to see from the busy McLoughlin street, but(for now) just look for the Ninkasi beer logo in the middle of the strip mall. Like someone else mentioned, the décor is mainly pictures of Marilyn Monroe and other old stars, as well as other New York themed images. I’ve never been to New York, but the interior of this place is what I picture those famous simple-but-delicious neighborhood diners to be like and is certainly nothing like anywhere I’ve been around Portland and the suburbs.

Delicious food! We had the spaghetti with meat sauce, ravioli, garlic bread and pepperoni pizza.
