This location has helped me out in a pinch when I need a «different» kind of cake for celebrations. Most of the cakes are made the same day, so they are fresh. The price for the size of the cake is pretty good, however if you have to get smaller varieties(say you have a picky crowd) that’s when the prices are just too high. I’m not a huge sweet fan so I can’t comment on the cookies/cake themselves but everyone in my office loves them. The biggest drawback for me is the location — if you have to park far away, its a long haul to carry two cakes that you don’t want squished on your own.

I don’t understand why this place does not have any prices for their products displayed. So while I’m trying to decide what to purchase I have to point at each item and say ‘How much does that cost?’ That’s nuts. I purchased a brownie and it was ice cold and nearly rock hard. Any brownie I have made at home has been better than the brownie I purchased.

This Mrs. Fields, located in Oak Brook Mall next to the Starbucks and near White House Black Market, is an affordable alternative to Godiva or the Macy’s dessert counter nearby. Honestly, though, I think the cookies are average at best. Unless you time it just right and come in when they’ve made a fresh batch, they’re likely going to be on the dry side. I prefer the chocolate chip cookies from Starbucks or the Barnes and Noble café in this mall — they’re softer and not as «sickly sweet.»
