A delightful little specialty shop that’s very unique. Last night was my first time here. I got the Mac and Cheese grilled cheese with a cup of the tomato soup. The sandwiches are very greasy(as grilled cheese should be!). The sandwich was a full size and a good portion. It was so stuffed with Mac and cheese I could only eat one half. The flavor was good and a bit cheddary and buttery. I would probably add bacon and another cheese next time to give it a bit more of a kick. Basic but good. The cup of tomato soup smelled like Prego sauce — but who doesn’t like that? It tasted acidic. It was edible but dipping my sandwich into it made it better. The soup needs more work. Next time I’ll try the creamy tomato. Looking forward to trying more stuff here and seeing what tastes best.

Overly excited about gluten free bread !!! Thank goodness! Quick service and able to take the kids with gluten sensitivity along and order off the menu ! That is worth it in itself. Would love to see gluten free desset options, but can’t complain because the food is GREAT!

Bit of a drive for us to get there, but had several friends tell us it was worth it. Well, last night was our first time and we agree, it was well worth the drive. The food was excellent, the service was too. We will be go back soon, very soon.

I was unimpressed on our first visit about six months ago, but my kid wanted to come back. It’s a change of pace from Jimmy John’s or Bread Company, and there are a variety of cheeses and other sandwich fillings to try.

Not bad! Decent food but pricey for what you get. I’ll give it another whirl!!! The grilled cheese sandwiches are delicious!

The food was great! They were pretty slammed when I went, so they had trouble keeping up with cleaning and getting the orders out fast. For how popular they are, they need a bigger place!

Not impressed at all but it was decent. Just over priced for a subpar grilled cheese. The bread wasn’t completely covered with the butter(seemed like oil) and so some of the bites were like a cheese sandwich… not grilled. Tomato soup tastes like Campbell’s. Not the kind of place I’d eat at frequently but I’ll still pop in once a year or so. Just not sure what all the fuss is about.

This place is not really a grilled cheese place it’s more of a sandwich shop. I personally do not care for their sandwiches

I’ve been wanting to try this place out, seeing as how I like grilled cheese and tomato soup. Yesterday, I finally decided to stop in! I’m quite particular when it comes to my food… I know what I like, and of course, what I don’t like. Tom + Chee has a lot of unique and specialty items on their menu. While that’s appealing to a lot of people, it isn’t to me. Some of their menu offerings just don’t appeal to me… but to each their own. So, I order the«classic» — a grilled cheese with American Cheese on white bread, and classic tomato soup. I’m a little suprised that this isn’t explicitly offered on the menu… to get a «classic» grilled cheese, you have to «build your own»(this is a section on the menu). I did look at the menu online before stopping in, and I saw that there was a «soup dipper» size of soup that you can order for $ 1. I told the casher that I would like the small tomato soup for dipping… she gave me the cup size for $ 3. Since I had never had their soup before, I wanted the smallest size to try it out. I like it, but I was disappointed that the girl apparently doesn’t know the menu well enough to understand my order. I know that I could have looked at the menu, but didn’t want to hold up the line.(Not a fan when others do it to me…) On to the food. Both the sandwich and the soup were good! I don’t think I would go out of my way to eat here, but would definitely consider it when in the area.(I don’t live too far from this location, but it’s a few miles away.) The tomato soup could have been smoother… it wasn’t chunky, though. If you combined the texture of Campbell’s tomato soup with the taste of the Tom + Chee tomato soup, I’d be tempted to go out of my way to eat here! Prices seem a tad high… my meal cost $ 7.50…no drink or chips… just the sandwich and soup. Looking at the menu, you can get two cheeses on your grilled cheese without an additional cost… I may consider that. But the grilled cheese donuts? No consideration here…

A wonderful place for unique grilled cheese and doughnut awesomeness. It is way out of my way but I will make the trip to get there every once in awhile. Well worth the drive. I just hope they put one in St. Louis soon. I suggest get two half sandwiches so you get a chance to try more than one. Don’t forget you can also add on chips to those sandwiches that are not in the crunchy section so that they can pretend to be a crunchy for you. I really enjoy the smores doughnut more than I should.

One of my favorites now, my go to comfort food. Just wish I could deliver right to my couch in my PJs for movie night! Toasting was perfect for my grilled cheese I had a few different cheeses. I haven’t adventured to the Grilled Donuts yet but it’s been on my mind for a week to try. There is a huge happy sign left of the cashier yet I look around and the staff isn’t smiling or enjoying their job. I would expect a little more fun atmosphere when walking in all the way through dinning and leaving. Not sure if it’s new and they are all scared to get it right? The food was great I would suggest it to anyone and great for the kiddos. Wish the seating was better and the do it yourself trash can is a mess right at the enter wince door. I thought The Sharks would of suggested moving that away from the entrance?

Tom and Chee was on shark tank and I was so excited when someone opened one up near Saint Louis! My boyfriend and I came here to get something to end our great weekend visit. And it sure was a great weekend!!! The staff was very helpful at explaining how the menu works. Also, the pesto chicken sandwich was to die for. I LOVEDIT. Great prices too! I highly recommend eating here.

Pretty good. Was there grand opening week. Had to order 4 different items. All sounded so delicious. The donut sandwich was good. Portion was kinda small tho. They got a challenge eat 13? Or something like that grilled cheese in 1hr and get free t shirt. I will come back if I need a t shirt that day.

This is by far THE place to go if you love food that makes you want 5 mins of silence to enjoy the taste bud bursting explosion with every bite! I was a little Apprehensive at first since I thought it was only tomato soup and grilled cheese but was I mistaken! Talk about don’t judge a book by its cover cause I was speechless when I got there and checked out the menu. They have so many different types of sandwiches that are homemade so are the soups! The loaded potato soup was great and I can’t wait to try the chunky tomato bisque. There are options also like salads with homemade dressings, Mac n cheese and the best sandwiches that use a glazed donut for the bread! You can also add potato chips for extra crunch. So I got the blueberry blue grilled cheese donut. The best way to describe this is… GO get one!!! The lemon mascarpone is the smoothest most decadent and key part of the sandwich. It is a perfect pair with the blueberry compote which is even more complimented by the blue cheese crumbles! But of course it wouldn’t be perfect if it didn’t have the smartest idea for bread… A glazed donut cut in half and grilled:)) I have never in my life tried something so amazing that it took my brain by surprise that the thought couldn’t catch up with my tastebuds! It was in overload and now that’s all I can think about plus when I’m going to have it again!!! I have found my new food addiction and will be going thru withdrawal till the next time… which may be tonight, again!

I’d been wanting to try Tom + Chee for a while and had heard mixed reviews. I wanted to try a few different things and ordered the Original Tom + Chee, a small Classic Tomato Soup and the Mac + Chee. After waiting 15 min for my order, I can’t say it was worth the wait. My first impression of the sandwich was that it was bland, until the garlic started to overpower everything. I’m pretty sure the«tomato soup» is marinara sauce they put in a blender and the mac and cheese tasted like like nothing. The pool of melted butter at the bottom of the mac and cheese was a surprise though. I don’t plan to go back.

Be patient(1 hour 15 minutes) & do not plan to sit in a large group Ordering– After going through the line to the left, we experienced others & then had ourselves take forever ordering because of never being there before. Sitting at tables– 3 people looking for a table… After searching & waiting for a few minutes, we had to ask a family of 7 to consolidate instead of 3 tables & a booth just so we could sit together. The 2 person tables & booth tables are very small. The worst part is the family reunion of 7 only got 1 grilled cheese donut to share between all of them & was there for an hour with us. Food– I ordered the hippy grilled cheese & really liked the layered flavors & texture. I had the $ 1 dipping soup of chunky tomato & got a VERY acidic soup. The side of mac-N-cheese was nice & chunky w/cheese. Others at the table liked their food. I was actually jealous of the kid combo of ½ grilled cheese & fresh fruit cup(slices of bananas & strawberries). I will return but I hate the design for more than 2 people eating together. The lines are too slow, waiting to find seats suck & the wait for food is too long. I have faith that all of this will change after the«grand opening» period passes.

Delicious. Absolutely delicious. That being said, for me personally I’m a bit too picky to really dig this place(I’ll be back for sure though). Pick your bread, pick your cheese, pick your toppings. Or get a doughnut with cheese. Or a «crunchy» which includes the potato chips on the sandwich. Fun, bright and colorful décor based on cheese(yellow) and tomato soup(red). Food was good. I got white with American and roast beef. Wife got the mac + Chee(mac n cheese on a grilled cheese). Kids loved it as well. I would’ve given 5 stars but there were out of mac’n’cheese.

Tom + Cheese opened their first restaurant in the St. Louis, MO market today and it’s a home run. If ur willing to go off your diet for an afternoon this place is awesome. Ofallon, MO out in St. Charles County is the site of this great eatery. I just had my first grilled cheese that was mushrooms, onions, swiss cheese on pumpernickel bread. Wow was it good and it was served hot off the grill. Great flavor to top it off I ordered the beer chili with blue cheese crumbles. Are you kidding me? The meatiest bowl of chili ever and blue cheese crumbles added a twang in every bite. These guys have super tasty food to order in just 5 minutes. If your in Ofallon you have to stop by. You will thank me I’m sure.

If you like grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup, this might be the perfect place for you to give your diet two middle fingers and a swift kick in the keister. Choose a sandwich from the menu, or create your own from their selection of breads and cheeses. Then, add whatever toppings you’d like. Go crazy. Add bacon. Add mac & cheese. Add potato chips. Heck, make your sandwich a double-decker by adding a second layer. But nothing says A-MER-I-CA quite like a doughnut sandwich. Choose a fancy grilled cheese doughnut like The King(banana, peanut butter mascarpone, mozarella) or the Choco Bacon Bliss(bacon, chocolate pieces, chocolate mascarpone, mozzarella), or simply go with cheddar on a doughnut. I’m not sure how I feel about that last one, but Mr. Cheddar Doughnut, I will say this: «You’re not what I’m used to Just wanna try you on I’m curious for you Caught my attention» (Just not enough for me to try you today.) –The Experience– TOM+CHEE planned to open Friday, March 6, 2015. However, when I saw on Facebook that they had opened a day early, I completely reorganized my day and headed to O’Fallon. Can you guess which colors the restaurant uses for its interior? «Yeah, uh-huh. You know what it is. [Red] and yellow, [red] and yellow, [red] and yellow, [red] and yellow.» A friendly employee at the counter will take your order. You’ll display your number in the stand at the table of your choice, and your food will be brought out to you within minutes. I ordered a small drink, a cup of creamy tomato basil soup, and the Pesto+Turkey sandwich(subbed wheat berry bread and added bacon) for a grand total of $ 13.44. The soup wasn’t very flavorful. However, it was nice as a companion for my sandwich. I should have just ordered the«soup dipper,» a smaller serving intended for, well, dipping. My sandwich, on the other hand, was quite good. The Pesto+Turkey is roasted turkey, pesto, and mozzarella on white bread. I substituted wheat berry because I’m not a huge fan of white and added bacon because. .. bacon. The turkey was like Thanksgiving turkey. Delicious. I would have preferred slices of crispy bacon rather than diced bacon, but any bacon is better than no bacon at all. The sandwich had great flavor, but I will admit the pesto made it slightly soggy. My dining companion had a small drink, a small salad, and a Pep+Chee(pepperoni, tomato sauce, and mozzarella) for around $ 12. The Pep+Chee is served on white, but she substituted pumpernickel rye.(I guess we’re complicated people who are picky about our breads.) I sampled the Pep+Chee and enjoyed it, but I liked mine better because. .. bacon. :) I was so full by the time I finished my meal, but since this location is really out of the way for me, I figured I wouldn’t be back for a while. I decided to go big before going home. So, we split a fancy grilled cheese doughnut for dessert. We ordered the S’more. It was not cheap(around $ 6), but it was kind of amazing. Actually, it was really effing amazing. Just look at my picture. The doughnut is sliced in half, and the sandwich is made with the cut surface facing outward. It contains melted chocolate, marshmallow mascarpone, and just the right amount of graham cracker. Mmm. I can’t afford, nutritionally or financially, to order that all the time, but it was a nice treat. –Healthy Options– Okay, okay. The menu isn’t completely unhealthy. If you have medical or dietary concerns, TOM+CHEE has some choices for you: salads, vegetarian options, gluten-free bread, and vegan cheese. But, um, bacon is really good. –Rating– I first heard about TOM+CHEE when I saw them on Shark Tank in 2013. When my sandwich was served today, I had a Phil Collins moment: «I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life. Oh, Lord.» Well, maybe not /all/my life. It has been more like 2 years, but it certainly has felt like an eternity. Apart from the soup, I’d say it was definitely worth the wait. I’d like to see a location closer to me, and a Mexican– or Southwest-inspired grilled cheese would be a nice addition to the menu. However, with friendly employees and quality food, TOM+CHEE has a new fan. Hey, did I mention that I like bacon?

Feeling good, feeling great … and you would feel the same if you had what I just ate. Tom + Chee(«T+C») is a new chain but don’t think typical fast food. T+C has a casual menu yet nothing here is sitting under a light, however, anything worth having is worth waiting for. Here, you will find surprising twists on classic Americana items we all know and love — this is a fun place with really great food. Your taste buds will be in total and utter confusion on which direction to go in first and then thinking about your next follow-up visit. This now explosive and highly coveted food chain was started in Cincinnati, Ohio in a tent and now it has spread across the country and has landed in The Lou! Taking care of personal things and running errands with the family, we were beyond fueled to be invited in for the soft opening and dry run. Random people that didn’t know each other were glancing at each other and smiling at each other, there were lots of fists bumps going on — wow this food is awesome guys! Beyond the local anticipation that has been building for this new restaurant to open, you may have seen them on TV shows like Shark Tank, Man vs. Food on the Travel Network and Amazing Eats. The concept of this new chain is grilled cheese and tomato soup for the kid at heart yet sprinkling those classic comfort foods with some healthy alternatives; T+C has great health conscious options like gluten-free and vegan/vegetarian. T+C also brings elevated flavors and fun new twists that will warm the heart of anyone. T+C also has fresh salads; three fresh homemade tomato soups and they’ll have random seasonal favorites like Blue Cheese Chili and a Gazpacho. If you ever do go through everything on the menu they still have something for you because you can custom make sandwiches with ingredients that you specify. The Fam started off with the Flying Pig(roasted turkey, bacon, pickles gouda on fresh sourdough) w/blue cheese chili and I was told it was beyond delicious. The chili is bean-less(I suppose some sort of Texas style) but they said it was good and that the blue cheese was a nice something different. I started with the Swiss + Shroom(grilled mushrooms, onion, swiss on fresh rye) and chunky tomato basil bisque. I was surprised; I tend to stay away from dark breads but this was hearty with a really classic and clean taste. For a vegetarian option this sandwich is hearty and has real substance. I’ve had several tomato basil bisque soups in my life yet this chunky tomato basil bisque is certainly different. I love the bright fresh basil that was used and the chunkiness just added great texture. Holy-Cheese-A-Moly, next up was the Grilled Mac + Cheese(mac & cheese, Cheddar on fresh white bread) w/Classic tomato soup. The bread was so fresh and buttery and the mac and cheese was so creamy, I mean who thinks of this? The Founder that’s who and I just want to thank the Universe and his Mom because this thing is awesome. It was accompanied with a classic tomato soup. The soup wasn’t the best on its own but it definitely was just enough for a dippable. Now here comes my ULTIMATE favorites, the Pesto + Turkey(roasted turkey, fresh pesto, mozzarella on fresh sourdough) — ABSOLUTE favorite and out of this world! I can tell this is going to be a go to for me. My next favorite was a «Fancy Grilled Cheese» Donuts called the Strawberry Lemonade(fresh strawberries, candied lemon, lemon mascarpone, mozzarella inside a Donut!). It really sounds like there’s a lot going on but this was a lot of goodness going on. You in no way have to get whole sandwiches, you can also opt for just half of one of their sandwiches which is great if you want to mix things up and try different things like we did. They have Coca-Cola products and I was very happy there was Dr Pepper along w/fresh brewed teas. Speaking of fresh, everything there from the soups and chili is made fresh daily. There is no large industrial size can opener cracking Campbell’s in the back. Even though the options and possibilities here are totally not normal, what is so normal is the care they put into the preparation of this food and you can definitely taste it. I am so stoked, I can’t wait to go back and try other things. My mom is already planning her next meal for this weekend since the weather will be great(does that mean that I will be adult-napped). I am sure T+C will be massively successful and look forward to seeing other locations open up in the St. Louis metropolitan area. You will leave happy!
