I’m so glad to see a restaurant like this back in hells kitchen! The food is great, the plate sizes are more then generous and the price is low, low, low. Its a small hole in the wall. So you might miss it if you aren’t paying attention. They have small tables they set up outside when the weather is nice. But they do awesome takeout as well.

The food here was sooo good! I love Dominican Food overall! The baked chicken I ordered was just right: not too dry and not too soggy! I’ll definitely be back!

We came to NYC for Larry Wilmore’s Nightly Show and chose Z’s because it was close by and highly rated. Well, it didn’t disappoint. My wife, who is very picky about Hispanic Caribbean cooking, loved her pernil and mofongo. I tasted her pernil — she was right — it was amazingly tender and well-seasoned. I had the longaniza with rice. The rice was nicely moist, slightly sticky, and complemented the strongly spiced(savory — not hot) sausage. My daughter and niece praised their dishes as well. I think we’d all agree that even if Wilmore had an off night our meal would have made our trip worth it.

The food was great. The service was even better. For our first meal on our first trip to New York we were very pleased. We will definitely visit again.

Small, family owned, authentic, tasty, large portions. One of my favorite stops in NYC.

The food at this restaurant is about 2 stars. The oxtail is good, although you’ll only get 2 or 3 small pieces, most of which is bone. The one star is for a combination of mediocre, inconsistent food, and dishonest delivery practices. One thing that is consistent is if you order delivery, they will be about 30 minutes late. They will also get the order wrong and leave out items. And when requesting a refund for a forgotten item, they will argue and give you a difficult time. Not worth it.

Loved the food here! Zoralie is a tiny reataurant and you’d probably miss it if you didn’t know what you were looking for, but you’re lucky if you stop by. I ordered the steak(medium well) and eggs(fried) and finished my whole plate. It comes with a choice of white or spanish rice(I chose spanish) and black or pinto beans(I chose pinto.) My meal was delicious. The steak was juicy and flavorful and the eggs were great on top. My friend got the breaded steak and that was also pretty good. I prefered my steak though. My friend’s mom got the chicken and it was so good. The sauce they cook it in is delicious. We had a great time and our waitress was super nice and attentive. Definitely stop by for some good hispanic food.

Coming from a Dominican household that cooks Dominican food every single day… I can definitely say this is authentic Dominican food. I portions are decent and the food is SO delicious. I’m glad that I was able to find a Dominican spot close to my job!

I’ve tried the cheese and chicken mofongo and both times have been very satisfied. The portions are enormous, especially when you don’t know what you’re doing and end up with the mofongo in addition to the lunch combo. The plantains are expertly cooked so that they’re lightly crunchy on the outside while being juicy and sweet on the inside. The mofongo can be slightly dry but pairs nicely with a side of beans. Added bonus is that it’s a great value meal.

Went to grab a quick bite of some authentic Puerto Rican food before leaving the city. Loved that it’s a little hole in the wall and I saw a bunch of locals from the neighborhood pop in to say hi or place an order to-go. This place is SMALL. Just one or two tables. Not really meant for dining in. It had promise though. Pegao, mofongo, pernil, beef stew, under the glass counter top — all the classics my grandma use to make me at home. I was excited. I must have gone on an off day, but I was not really into this place. With all these rave Unilocaler reviews I wondered if I was in the wrong restaurant. I ordered the pernil. They didn’t have it so I had to order something else. I got instead some mofongo and some fried baccalao croquettes. The mofongo was good. It was ok. However, I was super disappointed with the bacalao. They served me chicken instead of bacalao(did they think I wouldn’t know the difference!?) I told the lady at the counter that I got chicken and she insisted it was fish. I brought her my plate and asked that she taste it herself. After conferring with the kitchen they apologized and said that they had accidentally cooked chicken instead of bacalao. Hey, mistakes happen I get it. But don’t insult me by telling me that chicken is fish. To add insult to injury she charged me for the bacalao anyway. With so many places in the city to get good DR or PR food, I’ll try somewhere else next time.

We stopped by on a busy Saturday for lunch. The smells were tempting, the staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and the food… Well, my mouth is still watering at the thought. We ordered everything off their daily special menu, and that included the chicken and potatoes soup, two tripe soups, pork feet with rice, beans and plantains, and the roast beef with rice and beans. All that and then some for just $ 30! Despite how cheap it was, we could tell the food was made with love. One thing about Dominican food is that if you don’t leave the place feeling like family, they’re doing something wrong. Only reason I’m writing a review right now is to have the location saved for when I come back!

Definitely a hole in the wall, but with outstanding food at rock bottom prices $ 6.50 lunch special served all day). We were very happy with everything we ordered. we had two lunch specials: pernil and baked chicken. Portions were generous and everything was well-cooker and tasty. Tres leches cake(not made in house) was spot on. I’d go back in a heartbeat!

No wonder the Latinas got dem big asses. it’s from eating this fantastic homeade tasting dominican fare. Late in the game for me, but I’m trying to grow my badonka donk too sans surgery and this seems like a delicious way to do some expansion. They specialize in MOFONGO which is all the rage these days. Many different kinda from salami to lobster. The plates of rice, beans and meat are a steal at $ 6 fitty. You get a choice of yellow, white or rice/bean mix then there’s the red bean vs black bean quandary. To get platanos and onions is up to you. All the meats are pretty delish but they have daily special meats too at the same price so holla! I love their simple rice and beans with the ribs on Fridays! I need this hearty meal after such an intense 3 hr werkout. This food hits da spot and hopefully builds the other spot!!!

Delicious, plentiful food. I had no idea I liked mofongo. I decided to skip the rice and regretted it as regular after regular came in to order arroz amarillo. Seating is limited. Most of the dinner rush crowd was take-out.

I’m a newbie to Puerto Rican food and this place just blew my mind away. I got the mofongo with roasted pork, fried sweet plantains and the tee leches cake. This is the first time I’ve had mofongo and it was incredible! It had the perfect texture and wasn’t too greasy. The shredded pork was so tender and had good flavor. Everything tasted like it was something that grandma would make, just very comforting and homey. I need to keep this place in mind the next time I visit New York.

I was going to give four stars until i saw the check, I did a double take so fast I almost hurt my neck. We had eaten SO much and it had tasted SO good, But they sell food for less than you’d think that they could. Could not have asked for more from my chicken stew, My friend got the pepper steak and he was happy too. I also want to thank the staff, whose friendly presence, Compensated for the lack of any ambience. Zoralie is a Hell’s Kitchen hole in the wall, But for cheap food and great service, give them a call.

This mom and pop/hole in the wall shop has some DELICIOUS cuban/dominican food. The exterior isn’t really inviting but the people here are super friendly and the food totally hits the spot. I got take out from here(see pictures) and portions are generous, although hugely carb heavy: — Hot oxtail special(on Mondays) $ 11 very tender. Given that it’s oxtail there’s not that much meat to begin with. But I was happy with the portions especially since the oxtail sauce was so good over rice. It came with black or pinto beans and yellow or white rice. LOTS of rice and not as much beans. — Beef noodle soup special(on Mondays) $ 4 for a small portion. Kinda salty but good flavor. Had potatoes, onions, celery, carrots, beef chunks and rice(instead of noodle I guess). Don’t think I would get this again since $ 4 isn’t really worth it but still had good flavor and hits the spot if you’re craving something to drink. — Plantains $ 4. THEYGIVEYOUSOMUCHPLANTAINS. and it’s cooked just right(sometimes plantains are too hard). Can’t wait to eat my leftovers tomorrow. If anything, this was most worth it. — Small avocado salad $ 2. They’re probably not making much money off of this if at all, cause they gave me a small container of cut avocado. and it’s pretty much about a whole avocado. Good to eat with rice and all the other cuban stuff. For I think $ 4 you can get it with salad and dressing and all. Would highly recommend take out. I wouldn’t want to eat in unless I had nowhere else to go. And I didn’t order delivery so not sure how the quality is there. Don’t let the outside fool you. One of the most affordable, authentic, delicious cuban eats around. You’ll probably want to hit the gym afterwards though cause it’s hard to put that fork down ;)
