Ziani Fine Italian Clothing

Was looking for Stenström shirts, which are the only shirts I wear privately. Their store locator names them as one of 3 stores in NYC. When I walked in I was asking one of the senior sales persons, who was barely whispering a Hi, about Stenström. He didn’t even know the brand. His junior sales person did and was eager to help me out. Turned out that had them but not in my size. He said they don’t have my size in stock and I have to pre-​order. My answer was that I would prefer to be able to look and choose in the store. Then the other senior sales person added how could I even expect they would have my size in stock. Their entire conversation style was somewhere between not interested to sell and unfriendly. I am sure I won’t come back.

I just went to this store at the suggestion of Italian clothing brand Lubiam. I was prepared to buy a couple of jackets when I walked in. They had no stock in my size for the countless styles from this manufacturer that they did have (I’m a very regular 40). That’s fine. Once I was done with the salesperson who was helping me, who btw, couldn’t seem to tell the difference between a size 50 and a 40, I browsed around by myself. What ticked me off and made me not want to buy a single thing is that there were two gentlemen who seemed to be the owners who couldn’t even muster a hello as I walked by several times. They were too busy talking about their cellphones or some other nonsense. I was wearing jeans and a track jacket, maybe that threw them off. Their loss. Ziani is selling full price merchandise, one would expect a bit more service. That, plus I managed to find similar jackets on Yoox at more than 50% off what they sell it for. See ya!

I was in a panic because I had left the shirt for my tuxedo at home. I do not know how I did this, but I had only 35 minutes to get prepared. I went to Ziani. I was greeted by Liron Azencut (
