This is low-key, comfort Fujianese food at its best — that is, if you like Fujianese food. I don’t particularly because I feel like it’s very specific and doesn’t quite fit my tastes, but as far as food goes, it’s extremely cheap and filling. Food ranges from $ 3 – 6(with two exceptions at $ 2 and one at $ 12) in 50¢ increments, and you are sure to either leave full or take the rest away. I don’t know if they speak English because my mom orders the food. Don’t be dismayed by the lack of English-speaking here and the Chinese signs; there is a take-out paper menu with English. That said, the translations are really non-descriptive, so you may have to just be adventurous. I particularly like the peanut butter noodles($ 2), which sounds really strange, but is a perfected mélange of peanut butter, sesame oil and scallions in a very appetizing sauce over egg noodles. You have to mix the sauce with the noodles yourself. Any non-soup noodle dish will come with a small bowl of generic soup. The chow mei fun is very low-key, but it consists of perfectly-sautéed vermicelli noodles with some egg and bok choy(I think) and a few tiny pieces of meat for flavor. Apparently, you don’t tip at Fujianese restaurants. o_o
