Excellent Thai fried rice with chicken, great Thai tea, good mango chicken. Great service with a smile. Definitely going back.

Good, simple, earthy Thai food. Try the Thai Lemon Ice tea. Great curries. The Satay was soft and perfectly cooked. Good curry puff appetizer. Sweet people.

Food is good. Their presentation is pretty bad. They say 20% of taste is from the looks of food. You shouldn’t just put all your appetizers on a piece of LETTUCE. Come on. If you want to improve, start with the presentation PLEASE. Its the easiest thing to get right. I won’t be coming back till you make it look good.

The food is like any other Thai restaurant around the area. However the service is unacceptable. The waiter asked if we left tip as we walk out the door. Do u think this our first time dining? Of course we left u a tip. If u maybe get up to walk over to our table u will see the $ 7 tip that we left you. I’m going over to Kati Thai!. Service is totally unacceptable!!!

The Spicy Zabb Curry $ 11.95(How Spicy?: Spicy)(Make it With: Vegetable and Tofu)(Choice of Rice: White Rice) was a nice lunch, with a solid bit of punch and well-prepared rice. FYI the«Zabb’s Specialties» section is conveniently twice the price of others, so you know they must be good, even if sized the same.

I ordered from Zabb City because I was returning from work late(after 10PM) and my usual spot was closed. I was disjointed on various details: Food Ordered: Kee Mao Noodle and Tom Ka Soup. Tom Ka Soup was not bad but not was I was expecting. Also it was overly sweet. Kee Mao Noodle was just bad. It had no flavor and it appeared that it was not even tossed well. I could see chili powder on some noodles and no flavor on others. Delivery Time via Seamless: Took more than an hour. I placed the order at 10:33 and I got my order at 11:45. Mind you I like only 5 blocks away. I will much rather eat a yogurt cup next time then order from here.

I love this place. Extremely authentic and high quality. I’ve eaten in several times and last night I ordered delivery which was excellent, easily the best delivery dinner I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend it.

The green curry was delicious, as was the Tom ka soup. Delivery speed was almost too fast. Will definitely be ordering again soon!

Oddest Thai food I’ve ever had. Very different. Ordered take out through seamless and received within decent amount of time. At first, I didn’t like it at all, but ended up being different and tasting alright. Side of peanut sauce was liquidity but made both meals better. Pineapple fried rice tasted nothing like fried rice and exactly like curry. pro: lots of pineapple Cashew nut sauce dish was nothing like I expected. It was all chicken, lots of onions and and peppers with a shallow layer of dark sauce at the bottom. Very mild and came with Chinese style white rice on the side. pro: lots of cashews

Zabb City at the East Village serves delicious and quality Thai dishes at an affordable price. The location is conveniently situated a block away from my work place. The lunch special cost $ 7 that comes with a chicken soup or salad. This hole in the wall Thai restaurant is something that you should try when in the East Village.

The som tum was decent, not spicy at all. I thought it was a bit skimpy and needed more ingredients, though the flavor was good. The mango sticky rice was very enjoyable. The square of sticky rice had the taste of sweet palm sugar with coconut milk poured over it. The mango was sweet and had a sprinkle of sesame seeds. The amount was rather small. The Thai Iced Tea was pretty good and sweet. The décor of the place was bare and sparse. Zabb City serves Isaan Thai food — food from the Northeastern part of Thailand. It was decent though there are much better Thai places in the city.

I don’t what happened with them… new cook?, new owners?. The last couple of times I ordered, it was almost inedible. Quality went down; way down. Hope they get back on their feet.

My favorite Thai place for one dish is the Cashew nuts with Chicken. They sauté the chicken to a crispy goodness that no other Thai can duplicate. Trust me I’ve been looking. I always get extra cashews with my order for a $ 1.00 but I love every bite of that tasty meal. I also order sticky rice for this dish or the pineapple fried rice if I’m eating with friends. For dessert the mango sticky is very good.

Drunken noodles weren’t spicy at all and not very complex in flavor. And no wok hei! My friends enjoyed their curries but I’ve had much better thai food elsewhere. I thought, with the Zabb Elee association, it’d be better and now I’m not sure about trying Zabb Elee…

They delivered delicious and hot Pad Thai amidst a blizzard, when all other neighboring Thai establishments were closed.

It was a shame I didn’t come to this Thai restaurant before I moved out of East Village. It was small and the décor, or the lack of, was pretty bad. Nevertheless, the food and price here are excellent. It is more of a Northern Thai style cuisine so you can find some unique dishes here. In addition, they have offered 5 degrees of spiciness for your dishes so you can custom to your preference. I of course, went for the 5 and my tongue was burning and sweat was coming down like crazy! The seafood papaya salad comes in a big portion and it is very fresh. They gave you a lot of shrimp, octopus, etc. For entrée, I got the Pad Kee Mao with beef and it is very spicy and delicious. My cousin tried their Green Curry Fried Rice and it is excellent. I think I am going to get that next time if I come back to the area again.

The menu is rather diluted from the Zabb Elee menu. I was hoping they would offer more«Isaan» dishes but they were few and far between. All of the lunch specials were generic Thai food. I had pad kee mao and the noodles had a lousy texture, but otherwise tasted pretty okay. All in all, nothing special and a far cry from dinner service at Zabb Elee. Oh well.

Pretty decent Thai Food with a very nice price stamp on the lunch special. For $ 6.95 you get one main dish and a side soup or salad. The salad comes with a peanut dressing and it was nothing to write home about. The main dishes are huge and can easily be split up into 2 meals. I ordered the Pad Thai and my friend ordered the Fried Rice. Both tasted very standard and tasty. I also ordered a Thai Iced Tea to drink which was delicious. They come in a huge cup and are filled to the top. The restaurant itself is a pretty no frills dining experience. The storefront is small but on a Friday we were the only one’s in the restaurant. There is nothing special about the ambience but if you are getting tasty food for $ 6.95 this doesn’t seem to matter as much. The service was amicable and the food came out pretty fast. Note: This would be a great place for lunch or for take-out. Credit Cards are taken for $ 10+.

When I first moved to NYC a few months ago I was seriously craving some Lao style food. I did so much research and this was the most recommended place that would have what I was looking for. I came here and was sat immediately. We ordered the Chicken Laab, Papaya Salad, Isaan Beef, sides of sticky rice, and Thai teas. All was great, and we kept coming back. I’ve had different things on their menu since my first visit, and all were great. We went back about 5 times in a month’s span, and only stopped since we had to take 2 trains there and we found another place that was closer with the same quality of food. I am a little disappointed that this place won’t make their Papaya Salad Lao style with the ‘dead fish’ sauce, or maybe they just don’t have it? None-the-less my search for a place in NYC that will do things Lao style still hasn’t ended. Till I find a place this is one of the places that’ll have to do.

Zabb City is my new favorite Thai place in Manhattan. Do you love spicy cooking? Zabb delivers. Consult their five-point scale — where five is the hottest — and let your server know. We requested SIX for almost everything we ordered. Don’t worry, if you prefer food of the less-scalding variety, you can still experience a fracas of Thai flavors here, sweet flavors, tangy basil accents, you name it. For appetizers, we shared a plate of Issan-style grilled beef($ 8.95), slightly fatty, served with a rather sweet sauce(the menu states«spicy» but you can ignore them, just once) and a dangerous-looking bowl of tom yum. The soup stole the show, and was quite refreshing. It was beyond spicy, clearing my sinuses and making my face numb. Eating that soup was like eating hellfire. The good kind. I enjoyed my pad kee mao(#49; $ 8.95 with pork, lunch special price is $ 6.95). The noodles were mouthwatering, stir-fried with chili paste, onions, hot peppers, bambooshoot, tomatoes, and basil. I had little difficulty cleaning the plate, even though my insides kept crying uncle. Arrive early to avoid a wait. With only ten tables, Zabb is tiny. — thanks to Lisa Q. for introducing me to Zabb!
